At the dining table.
"Gav, where did you put that girl last night?" briana asked, as her bachelor son approached her to go to the office.
"In my room, Ma," replied Gavin Relaxed, grabbing a loaf of bread and chewing it after a glass of milk.
"What?! Are you crazy, Gavin! What if he carries a disease?!"
"will not. Yeah, I did, Ma. Gavin go first." Gavin kissed the head of the mother, then turned his body leaving the beloved woman in disobedience.
"Gaaavin...." Briana.
"Byeah, Mama." Gavin continued walking until his body disappeared behind the door.
"That kid always acted the way he wanted to" Briana muttered.
In the company
Gavin was already sitting in his great chair. With a stack of files in front of him.
Tok....
"Come in" said Gavin without looking.
Ceklek.
"Morning, Mr. Boss," said Kenzie with a sweet smile on his lips.
"Morning, Ken," replied Gavin.
Kenzie landed his ass on a wheeled chair in front of Gavin's desk.
"Where were you all day yesterday, Gav?"
"It's none of your business," answered Gavin flatly, still focusing on the files he was signing
Kenzie smiled obliquely. "To place the girl again? How'd it go?"
Gavin put his ballpoint on the table, then threw his body into the back of the chair he was sitting on. "Nothing, Ken. I didn't find it. I found a strange girl."
Kenzie frowned in wonder. "Freak girl? Who?"
Gavin re-enforced his body and resumed his work.
"Yes, a girl. Her face is very pretty. He's so innocent."
"Then, where is the strange place?"
"In addition to his old-fashioned appearance, he also wore a black veil that should not be removed at all."
"meaning?"
"I don't understand either. She said the veil would help her avoid someone who was after her."
Kenzie is interested. "Where is the girl now?"
"There's in my house. I locked it in my room." Gavin replied casually.
Contrary to Gavin's relaxed attitude, Kenzie was aghast in disbelief. "You serious? You didn't make it there, did you, Gav? You brought a foreign girl into your house? Then your mother?" ask a Kenzie question.
"Yes, that's it. My mom. of course she's mad."
"Well...." Kenzie's laughter echoes. "Since when have you changed like that, Gav? You haven't even brought any woman to your house except her. And now you're holding a strange girl. What drives you to do that, buddy?" ledek Kenzie in between his laughter.
Gavin yells at Kenzie's forehead using the pen he holds. "Damn. Stop that laugh, Ken. Do you think I'm that weird?"
"of course. What you're carrying, is a girl in the middle of nowhere, who you call weird. I can imagine how Madam Briana's face was when I first saw her. It must not be far from the boiled crab. Yeah, right, Gav? Haha...!!"
"Stop laughing at me. Or I'll kick your ass. I'll make sure, once you see him, you'll be interested in him, too."
Kenzie chuckled, then shook his head. "will not. As beautiful as she is, I would still think five times to like her. Moreover, you said, it looks very strange."
"alright. It's up to you. What about the girl who made you fall in love? I haven't heard the continuation."
Immediately Kenzie turned the water his face to seriousness. "I don't know. Her cousin's sister said she'd never come back."
"really?"
"so. Nilam really disappeared."
The deggg!!
"Who are you saying, Ken?" Gavin gasped at Kenzie's name.
"Hhh?"
"Who's the name of the girl you mentioned earlier?!" gavin asked a little higher.
"Priest. His name is Nilam." Kenzie turned Wonderful.
"Thin Mayang."
Deggs! Gavin's heart jumped again.
"Is his cousin Hana, his grandfather Usman, his mother Marni, his father Vishnu, and his aunt Pure?"
Kenzie jerked amazingly. "Gaav, where do you know k-where?" tanyanya could not believe it.
"So right?" ask Gavin.
Kenzie nodded slowly still with a puzzled look.
Gavin rubbed his face rough. "Yes, Tuhaan...."
"Where do you know them, Gav?" ask Kenzie.
"Ken.... The girl I was looking for was Nilam," Gavin replied with emphasis.
"What?!" Kenzie is again surprised by Gavin's statement.
"Yes, Ken. So the girl you took to the hospital, was Nilam?" ask Gavin.
"Yes, that's it. And you, Gav, so you mean... Nilam is that little girl in your past?"
Gavin nodded. "Why is it a coincidence like this?" muttered.
"I don't understand either, Gav. The world feels so narrow."
"You're right. So we're looking for and liking the same woman?" gavin asked without thinking.
Kenzie threw his gaze in any direction. "It can be said that way, Gav."
"Then do you know where his parents are?" ask Gavin again.
"According to Hana's story, they were found dead in the forest. After two days of disappearing."
"What?! What do you mean they were killed?!"
"I don't know for sure. Hana just told me that."
Gavin again rubbed his face rough. He got up then stepped towards the large glass that displayed a beautiful view of the city from a height. He put two of his palms in his pants pocket.
"And Nilam, how's his face now, Ken?"
Kenzie approached Gavin, and stood beside him, then looked in the same direction as his best friend. They looked like two handsome princes standing side by side.
"True you said, Gav. She grew up to be a very beautiful woman. His hair was straight black and long. His skin is bright white. Even.. sorry, I think her beauty exceeds Anita, your ex-boyfriend."
"Don't talk about that woman again, Ken. I heard his name, I was no longer willing. Right now, I just want Nilam."
Kenzie smiled wryly. "I want to ask you, Gav." He turned to face Gavin. "If Ani.. oh sorry, I mean that woman, didn't betray you, would you still remember Nilam and look for him?"
"From the beginning, even since I was living in London, I had intended to visit Nilam. But the arrival of the foolish girl diverted my intentions and feelings" Gavin said regretfully.
"And in the end I met your Nilammu first" said Kenzie smiling.
"But now he's gone. It seems like God has destined none of us to get it."
Now their positions face each other.
"So you think we're rivals?" ask Kenzie.
"And I will find Nilam first" Gavin assured.
Kenzie chuckles. "Hey, Boss. Then what about that weird girl you're now stuffing in your room?"
Gavin. "Lady...."
"Oh, so Nuri's the girl's name?" Kenzie chuckles again. "You better take care of him, Gav. Only after that can we start competing" he continued. "Oh, or. You stay with him. And I'll find and get Nilam myself, without a rival." Kenzie slightly emphasized his last word.
Gavin smiled wryly. "Hh, that's bullshit. Nuri's problem is my business. But Nilam, it's not that easy to leave it to you."
Kenzie chuckled again. "Alright, buddy. We compete fairly. Whoever finds Nilam first, then he deserves it."
"What if after you find him, he won't be with you? Because from what I heard from his best friend in the village, Nilam misses me so much, "Gavin smiles victorious.
Kenzie was a little surprised by his best friend's statement. Then smile back. "I'll make him like me" he said.
"alright. We compete fairly and without coercion. Let Nilam set his own feelings. How about, Mr Kenzie?"
"OKAY. Agree."
The two shook hands, a sign of approval in order to compete for Nilam. Although they have not yet gained clarity and bright spots about where the girl they mentioned is.
