
Ibrahim ibn Muhammad. He was the son of the Prophet who was born from the marriage of Mariyah bint Syam’un. Mariyah bint Sham’un or Mariyah al Qibthiyah was a Christian slave who was presented by the ruler of Egypt to the Prophet. Mariyah converted to Islam and married the Prophet.
But her marriage to the Prophet caused jealousy in his other wife, plus her pregnancy a year after she was taken to Medina by the Prophet.
Even Aisyah was very jealous of him,
“I have never been jealous of a woman except for Mariah because she was beautiful and the Prophet was very interested in her. When he first came, the Prophet left him at the house of Harithah bin Nu’man al-Anshari, and he became our neighbor. However, he was often there day and night. I feel sad. Therefore, the Prophet moved him to the upper room, but he continued to come to that place. Really it hurts more for us.” In another account it is said that Aisyah said, “Allah gave her a child, while we were not given a son.”
The jealousy of the wives also grew when the Mariyah meeting with the Prophet was revealed at the house of Hafshah when the Hafshah was not at home. This incident made the Apostle forbid Mariyah himself.
ibrahim's midwife was Salma, the Prophet's helper. After the birth of Ibrahim, Salma told her husband, Abu Rafi' and she went to see the Prophet and told him about the birth of the baby. With the news he heard, the Prophet Muhammad became happy and gave him a slave. After the birth of Abraham, the women of Anshar fought each other to become mothers of milk for Ibrahim. Prophet Muhammad entrusted his son to Umm Barda, daughter of Mundhir bin Zaid as the mother of milk for Ibrahim.
Ibrahim died on the 10th or late Rabiul Awwal when he was 16 months old. According to other reports, Ibrahim died at the age of 18 months. Ibrahim died at the age of one year, ten months and eight days. Ibrahim buried in Baqi Cemetery next to the grave of Umar bin Mazh'un (died in 2 H/623) The Prophet laid stones and poured water over his grave.
Prophet Muhammad had placed his son Ibrahim and his grandson, Imam Husayn as in his lap. Then the Angel Gabriel came down and told him that "God saluted you and said: "I will not gather them together, make one of them a sacrifice for the other)". Then the Prophet chose Imam Husayn as and three days after that, Ibrahim died.
The Prophet Muhammad was very saddened by the death of Abraham. In answer to the criticism of the people, the Prophet said: "I am also a man, weeping and grieving, but I will not say anything that will cause the Lord to become wrathful. Hi Ibrahim! By Allah, I swear that we are saddened by your death.” It is also said that the Prophet Muhammad stood before the mountain and said: "O mountain, If what happened to me also happened to you, you will be destroyed, but we will say as Allah has commanded.
The day Ibrahim died, a solar eclipse occurred. Some people say: "This solar eclipse happened because of Ibrahim's death". When the Prophet Muhammad heard these words, he said: The sun and moon are two signs of the Divine signs and do not occur because of the birth or death of a person.
