The Legend of the Devil

The Legend of the Devil
Ch. 224 - Between Life and Death II

"What's really happened to you in these five years?"

Xue Zhan asked, his head ducking deftly avoiding the distress that could at any time make him beheaded. The young man in front of him exerted all his strength to unleash countless attacks from all sides.

Step by step Jiazhen Yan made Xue Zhan retreat forced. He had not wanted to draw his sword yet and wanted to ascertain if his friend's head had actually struck a boulder until he had forgotten his memory.

"Oi, bajing*n don't pretend to be stupid! Answer my question!"

Xue Zhan vividly struck his head hard, the red eyes behind the fox mask glared ferociously at him and in a second later the red sword in Jiazhen Yan's hand lit up violently. Pure fire was channeled on each side of the sword blade and made it ten times sharp due to the heat it had.

"You stupidest man, I'm not dead yet you've whined like a duckling to lose a mother! Now instead use the power of a single piece of your soybeans to create war! I thought in this world only starfish had no brains. Apparently you too, Jiazhen Yan fucking."

Jiazhen Yan who had been moving unusually fast suddenly stopped holding his throbbing head in pain. Xue Zhan used his leg shell to elbow the young man's head. Who knows Jiazhen Yan's brain shifted a little.

Again Xue Zhan hit him before Jiazhen Yan could touch. Clearly Jiazhen Yan was angry, his once silent and cold war began to change.

"B*ngsat, are you underestimating me?!" anger exploded. Just this time someone kicked the temples of his head with a leg.

"Well, that's what Satan is. Angry, cursing, berate maki. Memory is gone, behavior is still satanic."

"Let's die!"

Jiazhen Yan raised the sword straight up above the sky which was emitting pure fire energy. The entire natural energy gathered and merged within the sword body, Xue Zhan's eyes could see a great stream of red power dancing around over Jiazhen Yan's head and it would all be directed at him in a moment.

His eyes momentarily grasped the energy of a power almost equal to that of the Ming Dao-power of light. He could hardly believe it when he felt it himself and tried to be sure time and time again. But all of that is true. Jiazhen Yan possesses the power of light belonging to the Red Fangs.

Without thinking twice Jiazhen Yan fired a huge amount of power towards Xue Zhan.

Jiazhen Yan had never fought rashly like this yet somehow his opponent had his emotional fishing talent. He took a heavy breath, the stance using considerable force. The effect it produced could also destroy tens of meters of the Light Desert. Fire raged in the middle of the desert even though nothing was devoured. Then Jiazhen Yan searched for the enemy's whereabouts meticulously before he heard the voice behind him reply.

"You're growing very fast. I honestly envy you. But you forgot? In the past, when we used to train and duel, you used to tell me your weakness. Your techniques and the course of your clan."

Jiazhen Yan did not remember at all and did not understand what her enemy was talking about. But on one hand he realized the young man was not the origin of the talk.

Xue Zhan was at a point where he could not see clearly. The blind spot was behind him. And a few minutes earlier as he unleashed a barrage of attacks Xue Zhan could dodge easily.

Jiazhen Yan turned his head back, where Xue Zhan did not attack him at all despite that second he had the chance.

"I'm gonna bang your head a thousand times until you get your memory back and then take you home to your father. Demon Norak is troublesome."

A huge defensive fortress stood tall at the imperial border, towering high amidst the vast scenery.

Hundreds of warriors and warriors stood upright within the Empire's defensive fortifications. They formed a tight line, ready to face any enemy attack. The sound of their feet beating rhymed.

Those soldiers wearing Diqiu Empire uniforms stood guard with vigilance, guarding every corner of the fortress carefully.

The Imperial flag fluttered in the afternoon wind, waving valiantly over the walls of the fortress. The flags bore the epitome of the Empire's greatness and pride, giving vigor to warriors and warriors standing tall around it. This was the time for them to show loyalty to the Empire.

The afternoon atmosphere enveloped the area, with the sky burning with orange and red colors, creating a beautiful scene amid tense situations when hearing the sound of thousands of footfalls.

The hot air swept across the land, sending gusts of hot wind that made sweat run down the faces of the warriors. They remained standing in place, defending their positions bravely.

Around the fortress of green hills towering in the distance, visible natural beauty that surrounds the fort defense. Sunsets provide a glow of fireflies that radiate across the sky, creating a calm but also tense atmosphere.

The sound of foot clattering drew closer from the distance, breaking the silence around the defensive fort. A soldier watching closely looked at the head of the soldier who was nearby and immediately approached him.

"Our guess is right. They came from the east to destroy our stronghold. What's the next step we should take?" ask the soldier with a worried tone.

The warrior head stared firmly, showing his unshakable confidence. "We have to hold on. It's the only option we have" he replied in a confident voice.

The soldiers around them listened seriously.

He beckoned the soldiers to prepare themselves, reminding them to remain calm and maintain cohesiveness.

The defensive fort looks sturdy, with soldiers standing firm and alert. They stared eastward, waiting with tension as the enemy drew closer.

Lao Baoli was in the vanguard with the other young warriors of Diqiu Empire who were assigned that day, his sharp eyes watching every move of the approaching enemy.

In a rapidly raging battle, the head of the warrior played a crucial role in orchestrating and directing the attack. With his head held high and a loud voice, he stood in the middle of a chaotic battleground.

" Make a line of defense!" exclaimed the warrior head with great dignity, his voice against the cacophony of battle. The shout was clearly heard between the sound of the arrow oil barrel explosion and the sound of the sword colliding.

Soldiers who heard the command immediately obeyed, resisted the enemy's current of attack and retreated to a predetermined defensive position. They form a close-up line, facing enemies with high readiness. The head soldier led with decisiveness, set up tactics and split the task to the surrounding soldiers.

"Prepare arrows! Launch attack!" his shout, his voice sounded above the noise of the battle. The archers immediately prepared arrows in their bows, ready to launch them towards the enemy. The head soldier gave a clear cue, determining the right moment to unleash a deadly attack.

The sound of the bow being pulled and its release broke the silence of the air. Thousands of arrows flashed across the sky, showering the enemy with a deadly iron rain. The sound of arrows snatching and piercing the target mixed up with the shouts and screams of war.

"Suppose, attack at full force!" exclaiming the soldier's head, his voice echoed between the twang of the sword and the explosion of the arrow oil barrel. The chief soldier not only gave orders and instructions, but also intervened directly in the battle.

Lao Baoli and dozens of Diqiu Empire warriors fought back by, applying the martial techniques they mastered.

The sword shone and the arrow shot out rapidly, unsheathing towards the flocking enemy. The sound of the metal collision filled the silence of the afternoon, creating a tense twang. Lao Baoli slid forward, moving agilely and precisely, dodging enemy attacks while sending a deadly counterattack.

However, the enemy pressure continued to increase. Their attacks were so intense and coordinated, testing the resilience and toughness of the Diqiu Empire's warriors. Lao Baoli and his comrades guarded each other, forming a sturdy close-up, trying to protect the stronghold from the merciless invasion of the enemy.

As the sun increasingly slumped on the horizon, a ray of twilight enveloped the battlefield. A cold wind blew thinly flying their robes and armor. The enemy is flooding in ceaselessly.

In an intense fight, the head warrior of Diqiu Empire met a heavy challenge. He was dealing with four warriors at once.

With an agile movement the soldier's head launched its first attack. His sword swing pointed sharply trying to pierce the defenses of his opponents. But the warriors were swift in defending and playing the fight

The first swordsman dodged the warrior's head attack with an agile movement. He twisted his body, swinging his sword at high speed. The warrior head dodged immediately, deftly resisting the attack with its iron shield.

Meanwhile, two other warriors attacked from the right and left sides. They launched a simultaneous attack, trying to outwit and destabilize the defense of the soldier's head.

The warrior head tried to calm down and focus, he used the powerful defensive technique a soldier possessed, thwarting the enemy's attacks with his great strength.

The man is able to predict enemy movements and adjust his strategy quickly. He began to be desperate then dodged with calculated steps, utilizing every available gap to launch a counterattack.

The movements and fights happen quickly, without giving room to breathe.

The defense of the warrior head was very sturdy. He faced enemy attacks patiently, maintaining balance and maintaining position.

Despite his urgency, he remained calm and did not panic, using his skills to withstand those attacks effectively.

At that time, an unexpected event occurred. An enemy with a black hood suddenly dashed towards the warrior's head, jumping with his sword pointed towards the soldier's head.

As the deadly attack almost reached the head of the soldier, Lao Baoli, with sharp reflexes, leapt forward to block the attack. His body staggered as he deftly resisted the attacks aimed at him. But an enemy sword managed to pierce through his right hand, causing a deep wound.

Lao Baoli felt a stabbing pain all over his body as a puncture wound crept into his flesh. He tightly grasped the injured hand while enduring the pain. Lao Baoli pulled back and joined the rest of the soldiers, observing the fight still continuing.

The head soldier who saw many of his soldiers who were starting to get injured and exhausted did not give up. With a loud voice echoing in the battleground, he raised his sword overhead as a sign of command.

"For our honor and courage! Don't surrender! Defend the sovereignty of the Diqiu Empire with every drop of blood we have! We are tireless warriors, who will fight to the very last point! Together we face our enemies, protect our homeland, and make this an unforgettable battle!"

The cries of the warrior's head shook the hearts of the exhausted soldiers, giving new vigor to keep fighting. They raised their swords, followed the head of the warrior in the same spirit, igniting the fire of spirit within them.

"For the sake of Diqiu Empire!!"
