The Legend of the Devil

The Legend of the Devil
Ch. 13 - Training

To his surprise, the day that Ziran Zhao's decision on Xue Zhan's life or death sentence was announced collided with the day of the selection of the Beginner Swordsman Exam. Actually the registration had indeed been opened a long time ago and Xue Zhan only found out about it and was registered on the last day. She found out from Jiazhen Yan - after leaving her son the man said that he should go prepare for the exam tomorrow.

The pounding in Xue Zhan's heart grew even more disheartened, he was so nervous that he didn't realize Kang Jian was calling him to explain all the mechanics of tomorrow's test.

At night Xue Zhan was intending to train by bringing the Book of Heavenly Phoenix into the backyard. He couldn't sleep just because he thought about tomorrow's exam.

'What if I lose? Master's friends will definitely underestimate him even more, I only embarrassed him with my defeat. But I myself have no preparation even though the teacher has explained everything ... Arghhh, how is this-' Inner Xue Zhan while holding his head dizzy.

Xue Zhan opened the Celestial Phoenix Book for the first time, in the middle of that pitch-black night the light green light coming out of the book was so beautiful. Xue Zhan was stunned for a moment because of how amazed he was, there was a power stored inside the inanimate object, as if he was a living being.

Two threads of green light shot out from the sheet of paper and moved curving around Xue Zhan's hand. Until finally the sheet stopped opening, a piece of writing appeared on the empty paper.

Stage 1 - Wind

Gate I - Bones

The Wind Sword Dance

It seems like the book does have something in it. He felt that the book had just measured his strength and brought out a single move that he was able to learn for the time being. Seeing that there are numbers in it, it is likely that the book has a certain stage. The greater the power, the higher the level and level of strength.

And Xue Zhan was suspicious of naming the wind element at that stage.

"If it's the first stage of wind, could it be the next stage of fire, water, and earth? This book is very mysterious, but Master says this is something to look for. Most likely this is precious, I have to look after it."

Compared to that, Xue Zhan decided to learn a single skill that he could learn. The Wind Sword Dance.

Then Xue Zhan was astonished to read the contents of the book, trying to understand it many times he finally tried to practice. Xue Zhan collapsed on the ground. His breathing was roaring irregularly. While tomorrow morning he had to take the test, it made him very frustrated.

Xue Zhan was unable to even master the most basic moves in the Celestial Phoenix Book. The first two hours nothing happened after he had unsheathed the sword, while the stance had the ability to change the wind like a sword without being.

Kang Jian said that one of the requirements to graduate is to master one.

Xue Zhan could not continue to remain silent. He's getting up soon. Trying to focus his concentration. Trying to sense the flow of power in his pulse, brain and blood. Since childhood again Lin Yu Shan had taught him how to use his strength, he said, but back then Xue Zhan wasn't so serious as to think he was better off being an ordinary worker to support his old Grandfather and Lin Yu Mei.

Now everything is different. Xue Zhan was going to follow Lin Yu Shan's last message, looking for the whereabouts of his parents and his true identity.

Four hours passed, Xue Zhan managed to gather strength throughout his body. A thin wind began to appear on the ground where it stood, creating a circle around its footprint that slowly grew faster.

Xue Zhan opened his eyes, this was his determination. He slashed his slanted sword towards the trunk of the large tree.

Yet again he was so disappointed, the wind from the sword only made a small scratch on the tree trunk, not even more so than his own little finger. Xue Zhan was exhausted, his strength was like being drained away. Perhaps this was almost the hundredth time he had tried the same style and not a single one came to fruition.

On the other hand, Kang Jian who was looking from a distance leaned his body on the tree. He was intending to help Xue Zhan to train, indeed it was a rash decision to directly enroll Xue Zhan in the Beginner Swordsman Exam. The other teachers questioned his attitude, but Kang Jian back then strongly believed Xue Zhan was capable.

"Is my decision really right? I made him very depressed, actually what I was thinking ... I have to help her, if she wants to resign it's okay too." Kang Jian stepped up, but it was not only him who saw Xue Zhan.

The chatty noble Jiazhen Yan had already come first. Xue Zhan who was in a slump ignored him, he looked like he wanted to cry. Jiazhen Yan opened his voice.

"Heh, just practicing has been whiny. Ask the carrier to be with your mother. It's spoiled, "Jiazhen Yan grumbled as he kicked a pebble. Xue Zhan did not turn his head, his face was getting worse. His voice answered in a doldrums.

"My parents are no more. Know his face not."

Jiazhen Yan was stunned, winking twice. It seemed like he was wrong to look for the topic of conversation and ended up making his friend slumped worse. "Oh, just found out. What does a loser do these nights anyway? I want morning too. See the chicken crowing? Or do you want to replace the crows?"

Xue Zhan did not answer his chirp anymore. Making the young man vehemently upset.

"You're ignoring me? That's right!"

"I'm being lazy to argue."

"I'm here to ask what are you doing these nights? That's all!"

Jiazhen Yan already knew the answer. He's seen it all.

Xue Zhan let out a breath, still reluctantly staring at Jiazhen Yan. Compared to him, the young man was much more powerful and could easily graduate.

"I'm just training, but there's no progress even if I try a few times ... I'm trash."

Jiazhen Yan crouched down beside Xue Zhan, putting on a worried face while gently patting Xue Zhan's shoulder to comfort her.

"What are you saying. Don't be like that, don't equate yourself with trash. Poor shit."

Xue Zhan who was just moody put on a gouging face, was eager for him to scratch at the innocent face of Jiazhen Yan. I like to hurt her heart.

Kang Jian paused his intention, he smiled faintly as he looked at the two of them. Xue Zhan chased after Jiazhen Yan while snatching his wooden sword napkin, furious as it seemed.

However after that fight, unexpectedly Jiazhen Yan and Xue Zhan suddenly dueled. The battle between the two was indeed not as serious as the last time.

Kang Jian looked at the way Jiazhen Yan fought Xue Zhan and how the reaction that disciple had put out was. The more attacks he received, the sharper his instincts and movements became.

Perhaps it was Jiazhen Yan's way of helping Xue Zhan, even though he did not reveal it and was inclined to look for trouble.
