Chapter 63 Jealousy?

The news of the Pope performing the forbidden magic ritual has already spread. The empire is in chaos. The nobles and the Pope worked together to do evil deeds. The trust of the people is starting to fade. However, other pastors tried to convince them that it was only the Pope who acted in a vile manner.

The storm reached the palace. Isabella and Judith are training as usual. Dale's not coming. Maybe Dale had given up on Isabella their meeting last time must have made Dale aware.

Isabella should be happy that no one is bothering her anymore. However, there was a speck of sadness in her heart, without her noticing Isabella was expecting Dale's arrival. Despite waiting until Judith's training was over, Dale did not come. 

Isabella came home a little disappointed and angry. Why would Dale interfere with Isabella's feelings while scolding her? He wanted to ask that question when he met.

However, due to Dale's actions, Isabella doubts her feelings for her Master. He realized that something was different from Gerald. Doesn't look cold. Sometimes Isabella sees him smiling.

Isabella ventured to ask, "Sorry Sir, if you may ask how do you view Empress Leticia?"

"Why are you suddenly asking like that?" Gerald looked at Isabella.

"I'm just curious, sorry if I'm presumptuous." Isabella.

Gerald looked ahead. "The First Empress seemed strong and fragile simultaneously. I do not understand his hasty but clever way of thinking. At first I doubted that one day he would betray me, but he was trustworthy."

Gerald's expression when talking about Leticia was different than usual. Pleasure, curiosity and pride, all of it emanated from his face. This was the first time Isabella had seen such a Master. 

"True, he can be trusted," replied Isabella shrillly.

However, even though Gerald was talking about others with such a face, why did he not feel angry or hurt? He's getting confused. Is what Dale said true, that all Isabella's feelings are just a sense of awe and want to rest on someone alone?

It was late night when he was training with Leticia. Isabella tried to put aside the feelings for a moment. Although sometimes he daydreams.

When you are done, sit in a chair near the training ground. 

"Are you okay, Bella?"

Leticia realizes her friend is not the usual one. 

"I'm fine, Leti. Without feeling we just have to do rebellion." Isabella quickly switched the conversation not wanting Leticia to worry.

"That's right."

Their mood is awkward. Leticia hesitated to say something, but she had already steadied her heart.

"I want to tell you something."

"What's Leti about?"

"I'm in love with Grand Duke Faust."

Isabella was surprised to hear this, but she tried to remain calm.

"Either it may be called a declaration of love or not, but we are already aware of each other's feelings." Leticia returned Isabella's smile.

His friend and master fall in love with each other. All of Grand Duke Faust's changes were caused by Leticia. This is why Gerald can express himself like that when talking about Leticia. There are absolutely no feelings of anger, resentment or hurt. 

Isabella was happy to see her best friend happy.

"Then will you be Empress to my Lord after she becomes Emperor, Leti?"

"I honestly haven't thought of getting there, Bella. If I were to become Grand Duke Faust's Empress, her position would not be stable. He would appoint a widow and the previous Empress as his mistress. Many nobles will oppose it. I also find it hard to have another child. He'll have trouble having a legitimate heir if he marries me." 

Leticia looked down at his feet. Isabella held her shoulder while encouraging her. Leticia saw her best friend.

"I'm sure you won't take issue with that. Master is a strong and feared man. No one dared to oppose it. Then you can make Judith the next Emperor. Imperial Laws can be changed. I'll convince him when he doubts, Leti."

"Thank you, Bella. I'll convince Judith that her father never loved her. That way he won't be saddened by Braun's death. Judith will accept Grand Duke Faust as her new father, though it may take a little while to open her heart."

Leticia and Isabella smiled at each other imagining the future. Their preparations are ripe, but the rebellion will be postponed. Leticia will convince Judith first. When Judith hated Braun, they would revolt. He will be happy to have a daughter and someone who loves him.

"By the way, have you ever been jealous to see my closeness to you?" isabella asked as she scratched her cheek with one finger.

Leticia was slightly surprised by Isabella's question. "If it's about that, rather than being jealous maybe I'd rather be you by her side. I want to be around him as long as possible. Ah, that doesn't mean you have to stop working Bella. I trust you completely."

"I knew. I'm sorry if I ask you a strange question, Leti."

Isabella has convinced her heart. What Dale said was right. He doesn't love Gerald. He never felt jealous. He just wants to be recognized by the people he admires. He wanted to return the favor to the one who had saved him. Thanks to Dale, he realized his feelings. If not, maybe he will stay away from Leticia think of him as the one who seized the people he loved.

However, he still could not forgive Dale's actions that suppressed him. He should have been able to tell her in a more subtle way. Only, he hesitated to believe Dale's well-delivered words. He would assume Dale was joking and playing around like he always was.

At least, his relationship with Leticia was not tenuous. Especially because of the loved ones. If that was the case, Leticia would give up on Isabella. Leticia was more concerned with her best friend's feelings than herself.

A few days later, Isabella meets Dale at one of the restaurants in the capital. Dale was with one of the girls talking while eating a snack. 

The eyes of the two meet. Dale pretended not to know Isabella, turning his gaze to the person in front of him. Isabella replied by turning her face away.

Isabella wrapped up some snacks for Leticia and Judith. They invited Isabella to have tea together. While waiting for her order to be ready, Isabella turned her head towards Dale's desk. They talked very closely and laughed together. Isabella was upset. After his order was completed, he immediately left without seeing Dale again.

With ease Dale changed women after giving up on Isabella. A woman lover who sucks. I don't know how many times he has changed women. He was convinced that in a short time Dale would turn to another woman.

Isabella wondered in her heart, 'Why isn't there a female victim who hit her?'

Maybe they just need a friend but not to establish a relationship, so not to arise deep feelings.

Whatever it is is is not Isabella's business. He did not want to interfere in the affairs of the woman-loving man.
