The Queen Who Shares Love

The Queen Who Shares Love
Chapter 49 The Past

Marquis Rainster's face looked tired. Sayu's eyes. He looks very agitated. His feet moved. Sweat drenched his face.

Gerald stared coldly at the man before him. All the actions of Marquis Rainster indicated that he was using the forbidden medicine. The reason he was raging at Count Blaire was that he wanted to obtain the medicine again. Perhaps Marquis Rainster transacted directly with Count Blaire. He used a medicine that was stronger than the one sold in Blaire Heaven. This is what causes the effects of the drug to be very visible and getting worse.

"You better turn yourself in, Marquis." Gerald immediately said the intention of his arrival. He doesn't want to waste any more time.

"I've never committed a forbidden act, Grand Duke." Marquis Rainster turned his head in the other direction.

"I know you transacted with Count Blaire, Marquis," Gerald coldly said.

"You don't have any evidence. Stop bluffing, Grand Duke." Marquis Rainster pounding the table.

Gerald was still sitting disregarding the intimidation of Marquis Rainster.

"You'd better think about your kids. They must be sad to see their dear father like this" said Gerald coldly.

"That's my business, Grand Duke. You don't have to interfere."

"I know the reason you're using the drug is because you're still not willing to lose the Marchioness, but that's not the right reason to use the drug."

"Go! Or do you want to fight with me here?" Marquis Rainster picked up the sword that was stored on one of the drawers. He pulled it off on Gerald.

Gerald was not at all threatened. He stood out his sword to challenge Marquis Rainster.

Marquis Rainster attacked Gerald rashly. Gerald immediately brushed off his attack easily to make the Marquis' sword fall. Fighting with people who are not in prime condition, does not make Gerald eager to win the fight.

Enraged by his defeat, the Marquis lunged at Grand Duke Faust. Gerald easily avoided it and knocked Clovis' father down. Gerald sheathed his sword.

"You're really pathetic. Even though my father lost my mother. He didn't lose his mind until he used illicit drugs to run from trouble, Marquis."

Marquis Rainster tried to stand up to attack Gerald again. Gerald held both hands of Marquis Rainster. Because his strength was stronger, Gerald was able to push the Marquis to a fall.

Gerald approached the Marquis who had already lost his strength. "You still have a son who respects his father, stop upsetting them."

Clovis and his sister peeked behind the door. The marquis saw his two sons. His head was directly facing downwards not daring to look at his son. The tears drip one by one.

Clovis ventured out of hiding. He approached Marquis Rainster. "Dad, I'll leave the evidence of your actions to the palace. I'll be the Marquis in your place. I can't let the Rainster family continue to fall like this."

Marquis Rainster looked at his son. He nodded slowly. He felt like he was a failed parent. Clovis went away to brace himself. Her sister who was behind the exit hugged her father.

Marquis Rainster hugged his daughter. Gerald approached Clovis patting him on the shoulder. Clovis held back his tears. Marquis Rainster's daughter drew her brother's hand. Clovis hugged his father. They enjoyed their time together before they split up.

Gerald left the place. The evidence is in hand. Clovis will be the next Marquis. Gerald will educate this young Marquis to be a great man. The Rainster family army will follow the new head of the family. For the cost of training and wages Gerald knights will bear it. But only for the first year.

He remembers the Rainster family embracing. Love and compassion make people weak. He realized it from his father. His father loved his mother so much that he was willing to become a battle piece of the previous emperor. All that his father did for the sake of getting medicine to cure his mother's illness which can only be obtained through the previous emperor.

But her mother still left them. His father experienced a deep sadness, but he soon rose up for his son. However, his father was taken advantage of by the previous emperor by threatening him to kill Gerald. Gerald was still a child and could not protect himself, but his father continued to train him until he became as strong as he is now. His father continued to be a battle piece of the previous Emperor, until when it was no longer needed his father was banished. Gerald only found out after his father died. From then on he was determined to take revenge on the imperial family.

He promised not to fall in love. It would only make him have a weakness that could be exploited by the enemy. He does not want to be like his father.

***

The coronation ceremony of Clovis as Marquis took place in the palace. Clovis' father was imprisoned and his title removed for using illegal drugs.

Leticia went back to her room. Today his father came to see him, having heard of the kidnapping a few days ago. Or maybe because he heard his name mentioned by the kidnappers.

Duke Hilbright has reached Leticia's room. He sat down in front of Leticia.

"What did the kidnappers tell you, Leticia?"

Duke Hilbright did not inquire at all about the state of his daughter. Leticia was expecting it. All her father was worried about was herself.

"Father who has ruined their business," Leticia replied honestly.

Duke Hilbright sighed.

Seeing her father's reaction, Leticia closed her eyes. "So it's true" said Leticia Lirih.

"You're not a child anymore. There's no point in covering all of that. Not all royals run businesses honestly. You already know the evidence, look at Viscount Gremaroft and Count Blaire. It's all just the past anyway."

Leticia clenched her hands. Destroying someone else's business is wrong. However, his father did it carefully, he only knew about it now. Even Leticia would not be able to get any evidence to bring down her father.

"Then is Count Wollard one of them? Nobles whose business I destroyed, "soldier Leticia.

Duke Hilbright's eyes widened, but his countenance remained the same. He doesn't care about anything but himself.

"It turns out you still remember the incident. His daughter has a bad influence on you. Plus the business is a little disruptive to my business. I destroyed it by preceding it in cooperation with other nobles. I asked the noble to cancel the cooperation with Count Wollard."

"How is the noble doing now?"

Leticia knows her father. He wouldn't let the noble tell Count Wollard the truth.

"He's already killed by suicide because his business went bankrupt" Duke Hilbright replied coldly.

Leticia guessed that her father was the one who ruined the noble business. He didn't want to ask further.

"I heard Judith started learning the sword."

"Yes, Dad."

Leticia already suspected that rumor had been spread due to Charlotte.

"It's better for him to learn manners and make tea instead of learning useless things."

His father's nature has not changed. Leticia did not want her daughter to be restrained even by Duke Hilbright. He just wanted his daughter to feel free.

"Judith's been studying manners and making good tea Dad. The Emperor did not forbid it. Let him do what he wants" Leticia replied.

"It's up to you, the most important thing is not to forget to make another heir to the throne, Leticia. I'm going to see Judith." Duke Hilbright stood up.

"If you want to see Judith, now she's on Dad's practice field." Leticia spoke without looking at her father. He felt tired of having to obey all the words of his father.

"All right, I'll be there."

Duke Hilbright leaves Leticia. Leticia leaned her head against the chair staring at the ceiling. He nodded and bit his lips. How does he convey this to his best friend, if his father indirectly killed Isabella's parents.
