Chapter 15 Convincing Beginnings

Leticia was sitting in her bedroom chair. His mind feels tired. He had attended meetings with nobles. The meeting with them always unsettled Leticia. He should pretend to smile and be stupid. Talk about something that is not of interest to him. 

He wants to see his daughter soon. That way, all his fatigue will be gone. He hopes Judith can adjust to her new sword teacher. Although her daughter was passionate about learning to sword, the events of the teacher who punished Judith must have scared her daughter off from the other teachers. He had asked Dean to encourage Judith when her daughter seemed hesitant.

Isabella is a very strong female knight, she is also good at teaching swordsmanship. Isabella taught Judith well. 

Leticia used to ask Isabella to teach her sword, hiding from her father. Duke Hilbright learned of this and scolded Leticia. He did not want his daughter who could be sold to other nobles to have a disability in her body. His father broke the wooden sword that Leticia used to study. Isabella knew it, she brought Leticia a new wooden sword. They continue to practice even though not as often as before for fear of being discovered.

Leticia laughed remembering that. He hopes their relationship can be like it used to be.

The sound of knocking on the door blew Leticia's daydream. Judith opened the door and walked towards her mother excitedly. Leticia smiled at her son's behavior.

"How was your sword practice, honey?"

"Very fun mom. I can follow what Master taught me well. Even though I made a mistake, the teacher did not punish me. He taught me so much that I could master it. Teachers are great people. It was only the first time I saw a woman who could have such a beautiful sword," Judith said excitedly.

Leticia's smile was still on her lips. The matter about her daughter's teacher was already well resolved. Now only his revenge plans go to Braun and Charlotte.

"Oh yes, there is a message from Master to Mother." Judith gave a letter to her mother.

Leticia. "Thank you, honey. Are you tired?"

"Yes, I fell asleep in the carriage."

"Then get some rest, it's night." Leticia gives Judith a kiss.

"I love you." Judith hugged Leticia.

"Mother loves you too, Judith."

Judith left her mother alone. Leticia immediately opened the letter from Grand Duke Faust. Grand Duke Faust accepted his offer, asking to meet with Leticia in three days to discuss the plan to abdicate Braun.

Leticia breathed a sigh of relief. The most needed help he had. He took the magic stone to contact Rose. He sat on the edge of his bed. The stone in Leticia's hand shone.

"What's Leticia doing?" rose's voice sounded.

"I know this is very sudden and very crazy. I will remove Braun from the throne. Will you help me get revenge on Braun and Charlotte, Rose?"

No response from Rose. It seems like Leticia's request is quite difficult to fulfill. Of course, Rose was a palace mage already she should have been loyal to the Emperor. Leticia intended to turn off the magic stone she had in her hand. 

Not having the time to do that, Rose said, "That's what I want to hear from you, Leticia. It's been a long time since me and Dale didn't like Braun. I became a palace witch because I wanted to watch Braun do to you. I'll help you. Despite the crazy plan though, I'm still coming."

"Thank you, Rose."

"Have you called Dale?"

"Not yet, I'd like to contact him by letter."

"Ah...did Dale be able to make magic stones for teleportation, Rose?"

"Of course you can, Leticia. I'll ask him to make that too. What do you need that for?"

"I wanted to leave without anyone else being caught. At the palace it feels like I'm being watched."

"alright. Do you have any plans to remove Braun from Leticia's throne?"

"I'll talk about it with Grand Duke Faust. We're working together to bring down Braun's throne."

The sound of the table being kicked up to Leticia's ears. Indeed, this action is a little risky, working with a person of bad reputation. Moreover, he did not talk about this to Rose or Dale. He felt that they were both going to oppose him. Leticia didn't want the strongest card she could get to take off out of fear.

"Do you know who he is, Leticia? He is the cruelest man in the Empire."

"I know, but he is the strongest person in the Empire. I need his help. He will be Emperor in Braun's place."

"Then can I come?"

Rose looked unsettled, evidenced by the sound of a finger tap that Leticia heard. He could not trust Grand Duke Faust. He did not want Leticia to be in a place that could be a trap. There's no guarantee Leticia wasn't cheated.

"You want to come to our meeting?" ask Leticia

"True... Can't you?"

Actually Leticia wants to go alone. However, with Rose he felt calmer. He felt a little afraid of meeting Grand Duke Faust. Although he actually knew that bad rumors about Grand Duke Faust might be wrong.

"I don't think it's a problem to get people involved with the plan to destroy Braun."

"When is the meeting?"

"Three more days in the Faust house. Can I ask for your help using teleportation magic, Rose? If I go in a horse-drawn carriage, I'm afraid someone will suspect me."

The reason Leticia asked to be made a magic stone for teleportation was so that she could move to Faust's residence quickly. He did not want the people of the palace, especially Braun and Charlotte to know of his arrival to the Faust residence. 

"Of course, no problem."

"Thank you, Rose."

"No need to thank me, Leticia."

The magic stone that had originally shone, had now dimmed. Leticia put the magic stone in the drawer. He took a paper and a pen. He wrote down his rebellion plan. There was no way he would instantly start a rebellion because the Empire would be chaotic if the next Emperor was famous as a ruthless person. He would restore Grand Duke Faust's reputation by making him a hero. Grand Duke Faust will play the role of the one who reveals the rottenness of the nobles in the Empire. He would have the support of the small people of the Empire. Leticia also wrote down a list of names of nobles who could become supporters of Grand Duke Faust. Those nobles were on the verge of collapse, but had a strong potential to help Grand Duke Faustm The rebellion of Grand Duke Faust would be launched after he had the support of those nobles, so that victory can be achieved easily.

He put the letter in an envelope. He will present this at their three-day meeting. There might be problems that plague Leticia's plans, but she believes she can handle them.
