Ch. 332 - Second Selection
"They're seriously telling us to climb this mountain?" wei Feng asked after the second selection began. He pointed to one of the points where a savage beast appeared, even from a short distance away the smell of blood from the fight of two demons.
"We need to move immediately. Try to stay in the group."
"Let me be the front one." Wei Feng cut off the path and stood at the very front, looking at the left right confidently. "By the way, why were you called? You're making trouble?" Wei Feng did not wait for an answer, he immediately spoke again. "You know, last night I didn't want to sleep. Only a fool would not hear what the housekeeper said. Sure enough, one man lost his life for no apparent reason. Is that why you were called?"
"You're saying I killed him?"
Wei Feng clucked twice, he turned around and walked backwards. "I don't suspect you as the culprit. Didn't you see this morning everyone's fighting over the bathroom? There must be something wrong. You know, I always trusted my instincts."
"Forget over. Just focus on the problems ahead."
Wei Feng frowned seeing Yu Xiong retreat, he looked back towards the front where a snake of great size was watching them. His body weight may exceed the size of five adults. The demon opened its mouth, revealing rows of sharp teeth as well as a venomous tongue that instantly made Wei Feng's guts shrink. He's backing down.
"No one has come to us yet."
"It seems like Brother Wei does have a pent-up ability. Science calls the problem."
"Hey, kid. Go home instead of complaining." Wei Feng snorted in annoyance, Yu Xiong was telling the truth. There was not a single day he missed without getting into trouble.
The demon crept in without turning its gaze away from them, looking for an opening to attack one of them. Wei Feng handed one wood to Xin Chen.
"Let me be the bait." He looked back. "You two back off first. We can't get through before we get rid of this ugly snake."
"We'll find a safe way. Wait for us to come back."
Youji pulled Yu Xiong who was almost bitten by the snake, but his steps were tripped by a long tail that now began to wrap around Youji's body. Xin Chen climbed onto the snake's body, kicking its skull from above until it hit the ground.
Wei Feng immediately acted to pull Youji from the snake coils, with Yu Xiong desperately dragging the body. But the snake demon immediately stood up and tightened the winding of its tail. Chasing Xin Chen made him angry.
Xin Chen leaped onto a high branch, intending to jump down where the snake was waiting for him. The demon opened its mouth, letting out a loud hissing sound when a translucent wood pierced one eyeball. While Xin Chen was still hanging with one hand on the branch of the tree.
The snake became more aggressive, one eye bleeding quite a lot but the movement did not slow down. He let out strange noises, perhaps to others it was not so important but to Xin Chen it was a sign of danger.
Wei Feng pelted the snake, distracting it while clamoring loudly.
"Here! Over here, you fool!"
The snake chased after Wei Feng who immediately panicked because his footsteps were much slower than the snake. Fortunately around him the trees grew thickly. He could outwit the snake while stalling. Youji was being carried by Yu Xiong. And Xin Chen had no idea where it had gone. Though Wei Feng had survived long enough there.
"Fucking sprouts! Where are you going!?"
Wei Feng panicked because he suddenly could not retreat anymore, did not have time to turn his head, the snake's mouth was wide open about to eat it. Wei Feng was pushed backwards as his shoulder was pulled. Until soon someone came forward and grabbed the two stealth canines. There was a crack before a scream of pain followed. The snake fell with both eyes covered in blood. And one of his own fangs stuck deep in his body.
"When you asked yourself to be the bait." Xin Chen answered him lightly, because Wei Feng felt he was more mature, this time alone he was unwilling to argue. After all, he did not run out of energy to simply answer Xin Chen.
"We have to catch up with both of them."
Wei Feng turned his head when he did not hear Xin Chen's footsteps behind him. The young man's hand was covered in blood, he had just taken something from the snake's body.
"That's right. You're scraping all the way to his intestines just for that thing?" Wei Feng pointed at the dark green colored object in Xin Chen's hand.
"Look for someone else to take it."
"Ck! The nature of your calculations never changes."
Xin Chen rushed to leave the place, he had a chance to see some demons coming around their friend's body drenched in blood. Simultaneously, the thug who had been bothering him a while ago arrived.
"They're going to die." Wei Feng muttered, looking back to the front. He twisted his body while shouting the names of Youji and Yu Xiong. It seems that the two people have gone far.
"Or did they just leave us?"
Xin Chen crouched down, looking at the traces that were like being dragged around. "They're not far away yet."
He immediately followed the trail, Wei Feng followed him from behind until they saw someone pointing a wooden branch at a snake demon that was much larger than before. The feet of the young man in his teens were trembling instead of playing, but he remained standing upright protecting someone behind him.
"That Yu Xiong is indeed stupid or ap-"
His eyes glared at the sight of Xin Chen already at the tip of the stealth tail and stomping on it. The creature immediately turned his head and hissed loudly, he turned around to approach Xin Chen.
"You go first. I'll catch up after I clean this up."
"Where can that be!" yu Xiong's cry again drew the snake's stealth attention towards him. Unconsciously his legs retreated in fear.
"If you want to help me this is the only way. You two go to safety, Brother Wei will take care of you. Split up!"
There was a reluctance that made Wei Feng's steps restrained, but on the other hand Xin Chen was right. They can't do anything against a creature of this size. Instead of helping, they would complicate Xin Chen's movements.
"All right, we're leaving! Join us after this!"
The three managed to leave, Xin Chen was just about to breathe a sigh of relief but he sensed the arrival of a new problem. Especially when the group of thugs he had seen ran to his place with meaningful grin. They stopped right near him and used smoke bombs that came out of nowhere, then disappeared leaving a loud laughter.
Xin Chen was like entering an endless nest of snakes. From the right and left, a snake demon enveloped him. And the only one who was the greatest and the ruler on this mountain was in front of him. With a powerful aura accompanied by deadly poison.
