Ch. 111 - The Treaty of Heaven
The moment Xin Chen opened his eyes the one thing he first saw was a cave overgrown with wild leaves, which he had seen, the place is located very hidden and can only be passed by entering a small hole because it is located underground.
The sky wall made of mineral rocks dripped water and into Xin Chen's eyes, he immediately woke up abruptly while recalling the thing he had previously done. The memory of the moment the enormous Lightning Curse appeared in his head, Xin Chen grimaced in pain. Between imagined with the pain when the lightning struck and indeed the condition of his body which is now severely injured.
"Hm? Just wake up, I didn't think you'd wake up that fast." Frog Leaves finished concocting a medicine made from herbs, indeed since earlier he had helped to recover the wounds on Xin Chen's body. Frog Leaves are quite expert in making wound antidotes like this. She gave it to Xin Chen and told him to drink it.
Xin Chen watched the Frog Leaves for a long time, although his head felt dizzy circling but somehow in times like this he remembered the incident when the Thunder Fox gave him a drink which was frog urine when they were about to go to the Green Lake. Xin Chen instantly became nauseous imagining that the pee might just belong to the Frog Leaf.
"Hey, what's wrong with you?" Frog Leaves were worried seeing Xin Chen's face ashen as hell. Of course he had no idea what Xin Chen was thinking right now.
"By the way the Hermit Fox has already said how your current situation is and I'm quite concerned to hear it.." The Frog Leaf started the chatter while Xin Chen simply raised his head, waiting for the demon to continue the sentence.
"I know more or less about the Dark Demon that the Hermit Fox meant." He looked a little hesitant with her saying just now, "I mean just a little know, I can't really say it clearly."
"Do you know where the Dark Demon is, where it is or where it gets the power of darkness? I think that element is very dangerous..." The Frog of Leaves asked, "Yes, roughly his strength was far above that of the Ice Dragon and back then I had once felt how much his strength was even though I was standing quite far away from that Dark Demon. Do you think the power of the dark element is really great?"
Xin Chen nodded.
"In the human world the techniques and martial arts of the black-flow warriors were much more terrifying, they often relied on the demons in fighting and excelled in strength. Do you know the Forbidden Book and the Book of the Seven Keys? The two books were each black and white flow force and between them, the Forbidden Book was much more powerful. You understand what that means, don't you?"
"of course. Is that why you want to study black magic anyway?" The Frog Leaf narrowed her eyes, subconsciously the conversation that had previously related the Dark Demon turned in another direction.
Xin Chen knew hiding it from the Leaf Frog was useless, he had already studied the Death Rhythm and the evil forces had fused within him. "Not to worry. I can control myself."
"Xin Chen, you don't know, now maybe you'll say something like that. But once you get the power you want... You'll never stop, the more you use that power to kill, the more your humanity will be taken away. I'm not saying nonsense, Xin Chen. I've seen too much of this happen."
"If I'm on the wrong path you can punish me or kill me" Xin Chen replied loudly.
"And if I don't have the power to kill you at all?" The Frogs asked again. "And if even the Lightning Fox can't stop you, how? That friend of mine, he's entrusted you to take this path. Maybe until now you didn't know what sacrifice he made for you, Xin Chen."
Rebuke Xin Chen's brows met. He stared questioningly, "What sacrifice do you mean?"
"Wait to break the sky covenant? Give some power? He never said anything like that to me!" Xin Chen was surprised, it was never suspected that this had happened.
There was a heavy sigh from the Frog of Leaves, he walked over slightly and sat down on a large rock while staring at Xin Chen straight. "The fox once said, when he gives the element power, the Spirit of the Element makes a pact with him. If he breaks just one, I don't know what's gonna happen..."
Xin Chen was silent in question mark, he forced himself to get up in order to directly meet the Thunder Fox but the Frogs of Leaves were blocking him. "He was meditating to recover his lost strength. I suggest you just wait till he gets back here."
"You he meditated every day to recover his strength, whereas only once I saw him fight... Does this all have something to do with that celestial covenant?"
"Come on," responded the Frog Leaf Tray. He shook his head because he did not know much about this matter, the rest of it was now his attention was fixed elsewhere.
"I want to ask you once again, are you sure you want to use two opposing forces? Black and white flow... It's not something you can mix up like that, there comes a time when evil energy comes and drags you down the wrong path."
Xin Chen pondered for a while, too many things entered his mind. He took a deep breath as he thought of the right answer to convince the Frog of Leaves, he realized that the demon had already read his strength and felt himself dangerous if left unchecked.
"Surely black warriors use their power to kill vilely. I will follow that path" he said seriously. The answer left the Leaf Frogs in shock, then Xin Chen spoke back.
"But I will only kill those who commit crimes. I'll follow the path my father took." There was a moment of silence before the interlocutor finally spoke.
"Well..." The Frog Leaf could say nothing more, "Alright I understand. I'm sorry to suspect you, but it's very important to make sure you stay on the right side. Want to take an oath with me?"
Xin Chen chuckled softly, "You're too worried about this matter. Alright... If that's what you want."
"Do your oath, and what will happen if you break it."
"I vow to walk the right path, defend virtue and create peace in this world with both hands. If I break it, I'll be eaten by my own oath."
Frog Leaf only smiled, she looked more relieved than before and Xin Chen smiled as well. The demon patted him on the shoulder slowly, "I will see all your achievements in the future. And one more thing..."
