Bait

Jean was taken to a place some distance away from the tent position.

That place was a cave near a waterfall. The location was somewhat hidden by the towering earth walls.

Two weeks ago Marco's group walked all the way to this place. There were two pickers who found the cave and they entered the cave.

Only one man came out and reported that there was a beast like Mrun in the cave, and one of his friends was killed by the animal.

Mrun is very rarely found in the outer forest region, they are more often found in the inner forest. It would be very profitable to catch Mrun.

Hence Marco's pluckers and Frank's hunting party team up. According to reports of Marco's group members, inside the cave are Mrun's eggs and high-priced medicinal plants.

From Marco and Frank's conversation he finds out that he was taken to Mrun's beast den to be bait.

Jean felt her body lowered, she did not know where she was, only the loud sound of the waterfall she heard.

Marco and Frank's group's footsteps were heard moving away quickly.

After a while of waiting for nothing to happen, Jean tries to open her eyes.

It was very difficult, but slowly a small crack managed to open.

Jean sees her surroundings appear dark, and after her eyes adapt and are helped by the moonlight, she can see better but not too clearly.

Seen a cave with a thick darkness in it and a glimpse there is a waterfall nearby.

It looks like a deep black tiger with red eyes, but there is still a white sign in the shape of the letter M on the forehead, there are also two tails behind it.

Mrun sniffed and approached Jean.

Seeing his prey enter the crack of the earthen wall Mrun followed and inserted his sharp hoofed hand to grab Jean.

Unfortunately Jean had already darted deep into the gap, Jean had not expected the gap to be so deep.

Guided with fear by Mrun, Jean did not care what he would encounter in the crack, he went deeper and deeper.

Mrun dug and clawed the gap to get bigger, but he stopped because he heard another movement from behind.

"Why did he get up?" Frank asked Marco.

Marco also did not understand the wake of Jean, as he remembered the efficacy of the drug is still remaining an hour.

"I don't know, but look at him digging that hole, we'd better take that chance."

They were still carrying out the original plan even though the bait ran away first.

Jean went into a deeper crevice, it was all dark in there. He also realized that the gap was getting narrowed.

Jean only realized that after her panic subsided. The wound was noticeably more painful due to friction with the rough and sometimes sharp edges of the gap, though Jean continued to move forward.

The pain of friction became more, Jean's tears had fallen not strong enough to withstand the pain. He did not understand why his fate could get to this point.

Suddenly a fresh breeze hit Jean's face, her eyes widened. There seemed to be a way out on the other side of the crack.
