Modern Women's Charm

Modern Women's Charm
The warning!

The first day outside the wall, Jean and her group walk through the fringe forest.

Jean with an amazed face observed the dense forest around her, Marrissa had been to the forest in her home world but the forest was very different from the forest in this world.

The giant trees rise like the Eiffel Tower. Many strange plants with shapes that neither Marissa nor Jean ever encountered were native, because it was the first time that Jean came out of the great wall.

Naturally he felt alien because the plants Jean memorized and studied were plants that were sought on the plank of the picking mission hall.

The forest area is divided into the nearby fringe forest of the wall, the outer forest, the inner forest and the X forest. The further away the forest from the wall the more dangerous it is because its beasts are more and more powerful.

The hunters and pickers mostly just dare to go down to the deep forest and it is not certain that everyone can return safely, especially in forest X only a few certain people who dare to explore the forest.

Indeed, the deeper the forest the more plants or animals that are high value if sold, but in forest X the danger is very high and many things beyond reason can happen. It is rumored that the Elf race is in the X forest west of the wall.

Marco's group usually goes straight to the outer forest, but this time they go through the fringe forest because there is a beginner in the group and the novice is Jean.

Jean thanks Marco's group for helping him learn and adapt to the fringe forest first.

"No problem, this is no ordinary job. Lives can be lost if we ignore the little things. Learn fast and tomorrow we're going to the outer forest." Marco smiled kindly.

'Lucky once I met good people like this.' Jean's inner.

The group traveled through the fringe forest while dispersed over a distance apart but not too far away, meaning that if they encountered problems or danger, members of the nearby group could help.

For the hunters in front, they went around and searched for ferocious beasts to hunt.

If any member of the picking group met a savage beast, they would only need to blow the whistle with a certain sound. The hunters will come and overcome the beast.

So this is a profitable form of cooperation. Pickers are safe from attack and poachers get their game.

However, in the fringe forest ferocious beast attacks were rare, at most only low-level savage stars like red fur rabbits were easy to deal with.

After half a day of depreciation, the 2 groups rested near the boulder.

Jean checked the contents of her cloth bag, she had already found some low-priced medicinal herbs. That's not much either.

Naturally, because the suburban forest area has been eradicated by other groups of pickers. Previously Jean even met several other groups who were walking through the suburban forest.

If Jean counted perhaps about 30 pieces of copper he had obtained, the amount of 30 pieces of copper was equivalent to the results of his work for 10 days in the rice field. So his current half-day effort resulted in 10 times that of his previous job.

But the amount is still far from being able to pay off Jean's debt. He hoped that in the future he could find a high-priced plant.

"Just relax Jean, in the outer forest area we must have found a better plant." Mia patted Jean on the shoulder after glancing at the contents inside Jean's cloth bag.

Their itinerary was only 3 days, one day in the fringe forest, the second day in the outer forest and the third day they returned to the city.

No one wants to stay in the forest longer, because danger always lurks them.

Moments later, a group of hunters dressed in wild animal fur walked past Jean's rested group, apparently returning from hunting.

They looked ferocious giving off the stifling pressure seen from the elephant-sized savage beast they raised together.

From there Jean knew that the group of hunters passing by were middle-level hunters and the hunted animals they caught were very strong, thick-skinned and of course, high-priced Rock Rhinos.

Jean also stared curiously at the animal that he said was the Rock Rhino, indeed it was like a rhino animal but the size of an adult elephant with sharp spines on his spine.

It is also seen that there are many sword marks on the body of the Rock Rhino and the largest one is in the stomach area.

Many of the group's hunting members were visibly injured, some with broken arms and some scratches.

Jean could not imagine how difficult the fight was to face to defeat the animal.

Fear filled Jean's heart,

'Hopefully my group did not encounter such a beast.' His inner.

Suddenly from the direction of the passing group of hunters, Jean noticed a middle-aged man with a scar on his right cheek was walking towards the direction Jean was sitting.

Jean's forehead creased as the middle-aged man had already stopped right before her. Wherever standing.

"Jean? You're Jean, aren't you? " ask the middle-aged man.

"Yes, sorry who are you? " Jean asks back, she doesn't remember knowing the man.

"I don't think I saw it wrong, I'm your father's associate hunter group. Do you remember, call me Uncle Ben." The man claims to be Jean's father's partner.

"Oh Uncle Ben, I'm sorry I didn't recognize you." Jean remembers her father's colleague Ben, but she doesn't remember what his face looks like.

"That doesn't matter, so you're a picker now?" Uncle Ben asked after seeing the beginner picker badge on Jean's clothes.

"Yes uncle, I just signed up and it's my first day outside the wall" Jean said, holding a badge on her chest.

Uncle Ben watched the people in Jean's group with an abnormal look.

"Jean let's talk for a while there okay." take Uncle Ben pointed to an empty spot a little far from where Jean's group was resting.

Jean agrees, considering that Uncle Ben is his father's jealous partner.

"Jean, since you're a picker, I admit you have the same courage as your father. I brought you here because I wanted to warn you." Uncle Ben spoke quickly while occasionally looking back.

Jean smiled a little, though,

"Yes, uncle thank you. Uncle asked me what?" Jean asked curiously.

Uncle Ben whispered, "Look at you going with Marco's group, just so you know they're not a good group. You better be careful with them. I can't say much, if you need anything you can look for me in town, just look for it at Ben's auction house. Okay watch out Jean, see you later."

Uncle Ben's eyes kept glancing back in alarm if anyone eavesdropped, after saying that he waved and went back to his group line that had already walked some distance.

Jean wanted to ask further but Uncle Ben was gone. He could only look at Uncle Ben's departure with a puzzled face.

"What did Uncle Ben say right?" muttered Jean curiously.
