In the Qin state, a new emperor had been elected after the old emperor and queen died. He was the crown prince of Xuan Long, who after ascending the throne was given the title of emperor of Shun by the people of the state of Qin.
After several years of emperor Shun's ascension to the throne and rule in the state of Qin, the ministers urged the emperor to marry and choose an empress, as the position of empress and concubine should not be too long empty.
Ministers and other officials vied to present their daughters and nieces to emperor Shun, not least with the Qing prime minister knowing that his daughter had favored emperor Shun for a long time.
Emperor Shun, who had not wanted a marriage, strongly opposed the ministers and royal officials. But it didn't last long.
