The Unforgettable Story

The Unforgettable Story
Section 99

An hour later, they arrived at a public funeral. The graves of Kirana's parents are right in the middle of it. Miles hugged his wife as soon as he cried so sadly. But it did not last long, William did not stop asking about death and the function of the grave. Miles let his wife answer him. Miles likes to ask questions, instead, he hates to give answers.

Because his wife was wiser in answering the questions asked by their five-year-old son, Miles gave up. His son's brain processes information so quickly that questions continue to arise without being contained. He was even faster at asking questions than Miles at giving answers.

They returned home in a lighter mood. Kirana felt better, even though she still looked sad. Being an orphan must have been difficult because he no longer had any surviving parents. When she is sad, she cannot calm herself in the arms of her mom or dad. When he had a problem, he didn't have a home to go to. But he is no longer alone in this world. There was a happy husband and son to be by her side every time.

Even though it wasn't lunchtime, they were hungry. Miles takes them to a fast food restaurant. Of course William cheered glad they were going to eat pizza. She orders pizza and chocolate milkshakes for William, meatballs spaghetti with tomato sauce and orange juice for Kirana, and for her herself, she orders lasagna with a fawn fettuccine and a cup of coffee. He also did not forget to order salad and ice cream.

“I'll be fat before his time, Miles.” Kirana laughed a little.

“Not going. It has been a month more portion of your meal increased but your weight has not increased drastically. Don't forget, you should now eat for two.” Miles peeked his cheek. Kirana smiled as she stuffed a mouthful of spaghetti into her husband's mouth.

During the day, the couple who planned to rent the house came. Since they had to return to the office, they could not stop by for a drink. The transaction went fast and smoothly. They rented the house for the next two years. Kirana gave all the house keys and duplicates to them. While the spare key is held just in case he has to check the house someday.

After saying goodbye to the couple, they went inside the house. Suddenly the sound of a car wheel squeaked from the side of the house. Miles turned his head and saw Dexter's car stop at his garage. His forehead creased as a woman got out of the car and with a red face approached them. His eyes were directed at Kirana. Reflexes, Miles standing in front of his wife, his hands on Kirana's pelvis, protecting her from the woman who was ready to explode.

“You are a fucking woman! This all happened because of you! I have lost my son. And now I'm gonna lose my husband too. Why did you appear again here!?” he shouted loudly. “You want to demean me. Yes ‘kan? You want revenge because I ruined your friendship with Dexter? And now you've come to take Dexter away from me? That's what you want, ‘kan?”

Miles frowned. The kid? Husband? Looking at the man running quickly behind the woman, Miles finally understood the situation. This woman is Dexter's wife. Miles felt William tightly holding his pants. He looked over and stroked his son's hair. He hated everyone who had made his family difficult. First Ratri, his employees, and now that jealous woman.

“Vi,” says Dexter.

“Do not interfere you!” The woman saw her husband through her shoulder. Then I looked back at Kirana.

“If you have a problem, solve it with your husband. Don't involve my wife.” Miles said in a serious tone. After having her eyes only pointed at Kirana, the woman finally looked at her. Dexter's wife looked at him in confusion.

“My wife?” He alternately looks at Kirana and Miles. His eyes widened as soon as he understood those words. “Oh. You're the husband of this fucking woman? He eventually married too. After all this time seducing and flirting with the husband of another woman, she had her own husband? It turns out that magic exists, huh?” taunted. Miles clenched his hand. “Are you one of his best friends too? You left your girlfriend or wife for her, huh?! Yes ‘kan?!”

“Your friend, you say? I never wanted to be friends with you. Just go! Get out of here!” scream the woman with all her might. Miles was getting sick of seeing the drama.

“We should have said that. Because you are on our land. So, get out of here.” Miles said coldly. The woman looked back at him.

“What? Who do you think you are?” screeched Dexter's wife again with a deafening voice.

“Dexter, if you can't control your wife, I'll call the police.” Miles threatened. Dexter nodded his head. “And make sure he doesn't bother my wife anymore. Him and you too. You two can only come if you are being nice to Kirana.”

“What? Behave well? We've been nice to him, but look what he's got in return. He tried to tease my husband! We never disturbed him. This woman is ruining someone else's household!” the woman's screams are getting fierce. Miles stared intently at Dexter who was just standing there.

“Vi, come on, we go home.” Dexter pulled his wife's hand.

“No! Let go of me!” the woman yelled as she mightily as Dexter pulled his hand towards their house. “I haven't finished talking. He must listen to me! Damn you, Kirana! You have ruined my household! You killed my son! Drew, let me go!”

“Dad,” whispered William in a frightened tone. Miles immediately picked her up and carried her. His son immediately buried a face in his chest. Then he turned to look towards Kirana. The woman cried sadly and her body trembled violently.

“We go. Now.” said Miles seriously. His wife nodded slowly while hugging him.

Half an hour later, they were already on the highway. Miles drove the car to the airport. He occasionally looked towards Kirana who was sitting by his side. But the woman just stared ahead with a blank look. From the mirror in front of him, Miles saw his son sitting quietly on the back bench. Everything was fine until the woman showed up and ruined their happiness.

Arriving at the airport, he parked the car at the car rental. He returned the key and immediately walked with Kirana and William to the check-in counter. While waiting for their turn, Miles placed his hand on Kirana's shoulder and kissed her temple gently. The woman looked at him with a small smile.

Waiting for their long flight, they had dinner at one of the restaurants. Miles accidentally ordered a burger and a large sausage for his son. William ate with gourmand. While he was busy eating, he would forget to ask questions. He did not look traumatized after the incident with the woman. So, Miles ruffled his hair fondly while sighing in relief.

Instead, Kirana did not finish her meal. But at least he ate the small portion that was on his plate. Miles kissed her lips to get her attention. The woman only smiled lightly as she stroked her husband's cheek. The silence meant that he was unwilling to talk about it now. Miles can wait. They will eventually talk about it in their home as well.
