Ten years. For that long they have been trying to have children. There are no results yet. His wife's anger became. But he's not the same guy anymore. Who just patiently waited and listened to his wife put out all the words she wanted to say. As soon as his wife's voice rose, he also walked out of the room where they were. He did not want to hear all the accusations and intimidation. It was enough all this time that he had been silent to hear everything his wife wanted to throw. No more.
The last five years he persuaded his wife to see a marriage counselor. They both need help. All their fights made him tired. But as expected, his wife refused. Miles is puzzled as to why he believes his wife is willing to change and is willing to fight together for their marriage.
Miles also asked her to see a doctor. Their biological clock is ticking. Angelica didn't have much time left to try. He was worried about his wife. Again, his wife rejected the idea. Wanting to respect the decision of the woman he married, he complied. Out of curiosity, he planned to go alone to check on himself without her. Unfortunately, the affairs of the company that was preparing to open two branches for the past two years drained its time.
He grimaced softly as he applied the cream on his shoulder. Right on his wife's bite marks. He looked at the mirror in front of him. There were bite marks and scratches in several locations on his body. Last night Angelica got energy out of nowhere, Miles couldn't keep up. His wife was so dark-eyed just for the sake of her ambition to have a child. She didn't even care if she hurt her own husband.
She gently gel her hair, then tidied her hair with her hands. He was not surprised to see the amount of hair that fell out on his fingers, he threw the collection of hair into the trash. If it wasn't for him going to his regular dermatologist, it would have been a long time since he had premature baldness and permanent scars.
Fortunately, the dermatologist listened to him. Were it not for Miles holding him, he would have long since reported his condition to the authorities. He did not want to demand his wife's actions. He just wanted to end it all in a peaceful way. What he was worried about was not losing to Angelica, but getting tired of facing his family.
Charles, his lawyer, he told me about the plan. Twenty years was enough time for him to hope and survive in his marriage. One month. She only gave one more month to see if Angelica was willing to change and fight together for their marriage. His wife did not know that he planned to divorce her.
Once the time of one month had passed and there was no change, he had to get out of the house and let Charles take care of it. That way, he would not have to fight anymore with his wife. Nor does it need to face the Angelica family who love dark eyes and defend her desperately. There was enough drama in his life. He doesn't want to face it anymore.
The bathroom door opened without knocking. He doesn't mind that. There was only one person in the house who did it. His wife was standing in the doorway. Miles looked at it from the mirror before him. Angelica was well dressed, ready to go to work. As the name suggests, she is beautiful as an angel. But no matter when, the beauty faded.
“I'll be home late. There's a dinner appointment with my friends. Don't worry, I won't stay. I'll go home.” he told her.
“Good.” Miles had finished tidying his hair. Angelica rounded her eyes.
“Good? Is that all you can say? You don't mind at all if I come home late tonight?” ask wife. Miles closed his eyes. His wife's voice was rising. He went out of the bathroom to the clothes room. Angelica followed.
“I never mind every time you want to spend the night with your friends. Why do you look upset?” Miles took one of his white shirts and put it on.
“So, just like that? I came home late because of dinner with my friends and your answer was only ‘baik’?” tanyakanya.
“Too old? Do you remember we are old? I think you have been so calm and relaxed because you think we are young.” said Angelica sarcas. “Pray that our efforts last night were successful. Or we're running out of time to try.”
Miles stopped while hooking a tie around his shirt collar. He looked towards his wife. Angelica raised her chin while crossing both hands in front of her chest, ready to reply to what her husband was going to say. Miles approached.
“Where has the passionate woman of life and passion that has made me fall in love?” Miles stroked his wife's cheek gently. Angelica frowned. “Where is the wife who always says love and wakes me up with her great kiss every morning?”
“Maybe she's gone missing since you didn't manage to give her what she wanted. And it could be that he will come back once you make him pregnant.” said his wife coldly.
“What happened to our wedding, honey? What can't I understand here? What's really going on, darling? Because I don't understand. Children are never the main topic of our conversation during a relationship.” He framed his wife's face with both hands. The woman's gaze softened.
“Didn't we agree that whatever happens in our marriage we will face together? Why do I feel like I'm struggling on my own? Why do you have to fight your own war? We can deal with it and solve all problems together.”
Miles felt his eyes heat up. He also saw his wife's eyes glazed over. In a moment Angelica will surely pour out her heart. He needs to know what he doesn't know here. Is it true that the problem is only because they don't have a child? He knew there was no third person in their marriage. His wife was loyal to him.
Then why did he change? What makes them confront every time their efforts fail? What is his wife afraid of? He always proposed a way out that would benefit his wife. Always was. So now, what was he worried about again? He would never leave that woman without having anything.
“You won't be able to influence me with all that you say, Alastair. Believe this. You are barren.”
“Do you still want to have children?” Miles' eyes softened as he looked at his wife.
“Iya. Of course yes!” angelica replied in a hoarse voice.
“You will never get it from me.” Miles lowered his hand. Angelica took one step back as if the sentence gave her a crushing blow.
