The Temptation of the Actor

The Temptation of the Actor
Ask for Restu

Andra stepped foot into the living room, where Sagara and Dewi were watching her favorite channel. Andra has established her heart that she must immediately inform Keysha of her good intentions to her parents. Andra continued to recite the prayer in her heart. Hopefully there is no rejection from both parents, especially from Sagara.

"Ma, Pa?" Andra sits herself on the sofa opposite her parents. At first glance he looked at the television that was displaying the natural beauty of Africa.

"What's up, Ndra? Tumben you down?" The goddess turned to her son who was wearing pajamas.

"Yes, Ndra? What was? Is the television in your room dead?" Sagara fixed the location of his glasses.

"Andra wants to talk about something important" Andra said with a serious look.

"Seriously?" Sagara and Dewi looked at each other.

"Alright," Sagara finally took the television remote and turned it off.

"Pa, Ma? Andra wanted to ask permission to propose a woman," Andra immediately spoke to the core of the conversation. He is not the type of person who likes to talk.

"What?" Sagara and Goddess shouted at the same time.

"Yes. Andra asks for your blessing. Please bless Andra and Keysha's relationship!" Andra spoke again which made the surprise even clearer on the face of the Goddess, her mother. While the look on Sagara's face looks calmer because he already knows about the woman who is in his son's heart.

"Your mom's not dreaming, is she?" The goddess patted him on the cheek. He was afraid this was just a dream.

"Ma, don't be kidding! Andra seriously," Andra's face scowled.

"Ndra, have you thought carefully?" Sagara asked with great dignity and firmness in his aging face.

"of course. Andra also prayed istikharah. After the prayer, Andra became more convinced that Keysha was the happiness that Andra had been looking for all this time" Andra said confidently.

"Ndra, Keysha is a man who has built a housewife. Are you sure you're going to marry a woman who's a widow?" Sagara clarified his question.

"Pa!" Dewi wanted to protest but Sagara's arm instructed her to be silent first.

"Pa, Andra loves Keysha unconditionally. Andra doesn't care about her status and background."

"Pa, don't demean the status of widows! Widows are more honorable than women who are still girls but have a very free association. Yes if the current word is a lot of girl status but the sense of widow," said Dewi in a sharp tone. Feeling dislike when Sagara brings one's status.

"Ma, that's not what papa stressed. But is Andra ready to marry someone who has failed in marriage? Is the household guaranteed not to be destroyed again? Is our son ready with everyone who's gonna gossip him? Moreover, the ex-husband of Keysha is already known as an affair. Papa is afraid that Andra will get into trouble" Sagara issued his uneg-uneg.

"Andra permission interrupts!" Andra looked at Goddess and Sagara alternately.

"The first point here is Keysha as a victim. Their divorce happened because her ex-husband cheated on her. Of course you remember very well, right? The second is Andra is not the same as the man, Pa. Andra will never betray a sacred bond, let alone a marriage is a lifelong worship. And the third why Andra had to get into trouble because of Keysha's ex-husband? Andra will marry Keysha, not her ex-husband" Andra said without pause.

"Ndra, mama bless your relationship!" The goddess immediately gave her son her blessing.

"Mom knows Keysha is a good woman. My mother had no problem with her status. My mother knows both her parents very well. They are a good family" added Dewi who makes Andra's heart very calm about her mother's speech.

"Ma!" Sagara looked towards his wife.

"What kind of woman do you want to find? Does Papa keep waiting until our son continues to age?" Reply to the Goddess by striking.

"Not so," Sagara was about to speak.

"Ndra, what about Vebby?" Sagara is still negotiating with his son.

"Pa, Andra doesn't have the slightest interest in Vebby. There is no place for Vebby in Andra's heart. Everything was already filled with Keysha," Andra said firmly.

"Vebby's still a girl, Ndra," Sagara releases his glasses.

"Still girl or not, Andra doesn't like Vebby. We're just coworkers" Andra argued.

"Pa, don't force!" The goddess began to stir up emotions.

"Know Ndra, your feelings are not love but obsession" Sagara wiped the dew that slightly covered her glasses.

"I mean, Papa?" Andra asked in confusion.

"Where did you basically say that?" The goddess chimed in.

"Papa knows if you're interested in Keysha because he's similar to the late Nadien. Didn't you?" Sagara straightened his body and still looked at his son seriously.

"Pa, papa's wrong. First saw Keysha indeed Andra as if to see Nadien in him. However, after knowing his personality, Andra never saw again the figure of Nadien in Keysha. Andra loves Keysha as Keysha, not because Keysha is like Nadien" Andra said.

"Do you have to believe?" Sagara.

"Pa, the one who knows our son the most is ourselves. Of course you know how honest Andra is," Dewi helped convince her husband.

Sagara seemed to think then he leaned his body on the soft sofa.

"Pa, how? Does papa bless Andra?" Andra asked for clarity. However, Sagara is still silent with the look of his face that is unreadable.

"Pa, if papa doesn't approve of Andra, that's not a problem. Andra is male and does not need a guardian. Andra will still marry Keysha," Andra finally said the final word.

"Is it so much that you love Keysha that you don't need papa's blessing?" Sagara smiled faintly.

"Pa, it's not like that. It's just that papa like it's very difficult to bless Andra's relationship and Keysha's, too" Andra replied in frustration.

"Pa, let our son determine his own happiness!" The eyes of the Goddess look teary.

"Who said papa wouldn't bless you?" Sagara smile.

"So?" Andra seemed to be begging with the look of her eyes.

"Papa bless you and Keysha. Papa blesses your relationship and papa allows you to marry Keysha as soon as possible" Sagara said softly but still looked authoritative.

"Pa, thank you," Andra hugged her father. Dewi also shed her tears because touched by the attitude of Sagara who chose to prioritize the happiness of his son.

"It's enough that Keysha feels like divorce. Accompany him until death do you part! Never turn away from her! Don't make the same mistake as your ex!" Sagara gave his advice.

"Of course, Pa. Of course," Andra nodded in full force
