“You've finished lamenting your fate? Now hand Dwayne back to his mother.”
Dimitri's head bowed, one hand holding a sword stuck in the ground. He laughed softly then became stronger, making Edric shudder at the sound of his laughter.
It's only fitting that Edric was so protective of Chloe when they had just met at the palace. Then, Edric always visited Dwayne. Everyone thought it was because of Dwayne's power that captivated Edric.
Dimitri straightened his body, swung his sword before he stored it back and the grin disappeared from his face.
“Then what? From the guts, Chloe doesn't remember me at all. If I hand Dwayne over to you, what will you tell Chloe?”
There's only one explanation why Chloe doesn't remember it. Chloe has used her own powers to erase her memories. Dimitri is not a vampire who just hatched a few days ago, he knows a lot and plus has a child who is also born from a mixture of vampires and humans.
Edric knew Dimitri wouldn't be so easy to give up his son. D’Arcy Castle has been heavily guarded since Dwayne. The loyal guards of his grandchildren, Draven and Adreana were also always by his side. Edric couldn't have taken Dwayne.
She is upset at the man standing in front of her because Dimitri has been given a gift that not all vampires get. The woman he was destined for was a vampire as well. They can spend their lives in eternity. Sadness regained control of Edric's mind when he imagined Sofia.
“There comes a time when Chloe will remember everything. You better hand Dwayne over now than wait for Chloe to avenge you.”
Edric's words pierced Dimitri's heart so deeply. Chloe never hid her feelings. He blatantly said that he hated Dimitri.
“At least I have a chance to solve my problem with Chloe. I promise to pay for all my mistakes. Your job is done, Edric. Replace me who will take care of Chloe from now on.”
“Wait! What are you planning to do again Dimitri?” edric asked in a slightly frightened tone.
“Chloe Isabel died hating me. Now I will make Chloe Elizabeth Suarez fall in love with me.”
Edric's mouth was open so wide. Dimitri doesn't care about her and can't wait to visit Chloe at her tent. He was pictured with the body of a Spanish guitar he saw last night.
Dimitri is not hallucinating.
“You've gone mad, Dimitri!” Edric screamed from behind as Dimitri had already gone a long way.
Chloe who is not Chloe two years ago and Dimitri who will now do anything to make Chloe fall in love with her.

[Dimitri’s POV]
I waited until the moon replaced the sun to shine in the darkness of the night and walked towards the tent of Azov's war commander. The air tonight is very hot, different from the day before.
Without a hitch from the bodyguards, I entered easily into the tent of the Goddess of Death. The waiter I saw yesterday was combing Chloe's long hair, while she was sitting there reading a book.
He woke up and closed the book, giving me a cynical look. “Do you not know manners, Dimitri D’Arcy? I was waiting for you but you didn't come. It's past bedtime!”
I signal the waiter to go out of the tent with my finger. But the young servant was unmoved. Oh dammit. I forgot that he would only obey his master's orders. I forgot that Chloe is the son of a noble now.
“You waiting for me?” I raised my left eyebrow a little. “Well, you never fail to surprise me. I was flattered that a Death Goddess who was so fierce on the battlefield was waiting for my arrival into her tent.”
I held back a smile as Chloe's cheeks turned red. He stood so straight from his chair.
“Layla, you can go break now.”
“T-but, miss Eliza..”
Oh, so the maid's name is Layla. He looked at his nona doubtfully and then looked at me again. As if afraid to leave his own nona with a wolf ready to pounce.
“Go. If there's anything, it's not me you need to worry about.” Chloe's eyes glanced at the sword lying not far from her.
“Good, miss Eliza. Good night.”
I shifted my body to the side to give Layla access out.
Layla gave me a sharp look as a warning not to mess with her nona, then came out of the tent.
“About Navarre, what do you want to talk about, Dimitri?”
“I'm a guest here and you don't give me a chair, Chloe?”
Chloe hissing. “I told you not to say my name! Quickly say what you want to say.”
I walked over to her casually even though all I wanted to do was run to hug her tightly. Chloe was actually standing in front of me, looking even prettier than before. My eyes can't come out. As I walked, I watched him from top to bottom.
He wore a long, red silk nightgown that covered his eyes. Her long hair was so beautiful.
“Do you not wonder why I know your name?”
I stopped in front of him with three footsteps separating us. The old Chloe might be moving backwards. But Chloe who now stood up and raised her chin.
“Edric told me. I used to be a waitress in your castle before I turned into a vampire. But I don't remember you at all. Now I'm not your servant Dimitri, so I hope you don't behave haughty because our degrees are the same.”
Fucking Edric.
“Yes, you did work as my waitress, Chloe. That's why I was so surprised when I found out who was behind the armor.”
I took one step closer to her, my hand grabbed that long and soft hair.
“But our relationship is not just a servant and an ordinary employer.”
I could see his throat gulping, he brushed my hand away in wrath.
“What do you mean, Dimitri! I can't possibly..”
I bow my head in line with him. “There's a birthmark on your back, right? A beautiful rose petal.”
Chloe's eyes widened and a single loud slap floated down my cheek. I could dodge when his hands were raised up, I already knew I would receive the slap. But I want to feel it.
The pain in my left cheek indicates that I am not dreaming.
“Basic mes*um! You know because you broke in without permission and saw my back last night!”
I laughed and whispered in his ear. “I have not only seen your body, Goddess of Death. I've memorized every curve of your body, every point that can make you scream. Do I need to continue so that you remember what our relationship was two years ago?”
Her hair was very fragrant of roses, making my head spin and unable to think rationally. The air inside the tent was very hot, or maybe because I was close to him?
Something down there can't wait to get into action. It's been two years since I promised I wouldn't sleep with another woman. But I held back. It's not time for action yet, man!
Chloe laughs. I haven't heard her laughter in a long time. It was like a beautiful melody and it would keep ringing in my mind.
“It's just fine that I don't remember it, Dimitri. You must be the most boring man I've ever slept with!”
