Charley Babbage took a few deep breaths and the way he looked at the camera slowly calmed down.  It even brought a hint of despair and helplessness now.

He has no choice.

Now that things had become like this, there was nothing he could do about it.

No one wants to be someone else's tool or doll.  But there are times when one has to bear the consequences of his own decisions.

But he never expected this might last a lifetime.

He knew that Hayson was watching him right now.  This lab, the whole of Tescon and even his own daily life is watched all the time.

He had thought of leaving a life like this, but he knew very well that it was impossible.

His wife is alive because of Hayson, so if he leaves, his wife will die.

When he thought about this, Charley sighed and could only give in to his fate.

He got up and changed.  He was used to being watched no matter what he did.  He left the office and got ready to go home.

He was constantly being watched even while coming home, and Charley knew about this a long time ago.

As usual, he went to the cake shop on his way home to buy his wife's favorite cake for her.

"Hello, one piece of blackforest cake, thank you," Charley said politely.

The shop assistant nodded and neatly packed the cake into a box.

"Mr Babbage, it'll be $5."

Charley looked up in shock.  He had come here to buy cakes many times now, but he had never told the staff his name.  How does this shop assistant know his name?

He looked at the shop assistant, but the shop assistant just smiled and gave the cake to Charley.  As they exchanged hands, the shop assistant secretly tapped Charley's hand with his finger and Charley received his message.

He calmly said, "Thank you."

After Charley left with the cake, Ethan lowered the baseball cap on his head and narrowed his eyes slightly.

Ethan finds out through his information that Charley and the other experts on the integrated circuit all find themselves in this kind of predicament.  It will be difficult for them to get out of this problem.

Tescon looks like a company on the surface, but they try other things in secret.  Not many people know about their dark side.

But Ethan has already asked Amelia L'Oreal to help her check Tescon's involvement in illegal activities for her.

"Big Boss, are you sure we can't just kidnap this guy?"  brother Geoff asked in a low voice next to Ethan.

He did not understand why they had to go through so much trouble.  It was only one person, so why didn't they just kidnap her?  It was a faster and simpler method.

Ethan glared at Brother Geoff.  This guy had been misled by Winston and he started talking about kidnapping as well.

"He still has a wife, so unless he can ensure the safety of his wife, he will never leave this place even if he has to die" Ethan snapped resentfully.  "Didn't the Fairbanks Legend teach you about understanding the main points of every problem faced?"

Brother Geoff blinked and nodded.  "I think he did, but I forgot."

Ethan shook his head and could not be bothered by it.

He walked into the kitchen, took off his hat, changed his uniform and left with Brother Geoff.

Charley went home and found his wife watching TV on the couch.  It was the only entertainment for him.

He stood up as soon as he heard the door.

"You're home!"

"I've bought you a cake" Charley said with a smile.  "Go wash your hands."

His wife was excited like a child, as if this was the thing he had been waiting for all day.

He ran to wash his hands while Charley opened the box to look at a note inside.
