"Miss, where are you really headed? We've been around town like this for a long time. It's midnight now, miss. My time is over and I have to go home. My wife and children are waiting for my return home".
Ela's daydreams instantly froze, when she heard the voice of the taxi driver who reminded her of his destination.
Yes, from earlier Ela asked the taxi driver to just go around without a definite purpose. While he was more daydreaming and thinking that made his head hurt, throbbing like a person with an acute migraine.
"Take me to the apartment reagent" replied Elara with a voice that sounded so weak.
The driver nodded his head. "Alright miss".
A few minutes passed, the taxi carrying Elara stopped in front of the luxury apartment lobby. Ela opened her sling bag and gave money to the taxi driver.
"Miss, this is too much. You pay the excess" said the driver returned some sheets to Elara.
"It's okay. It's yours, I've given it", replied Elara passed. But Ela did not step her foot into the lobby but sat in a garden chair on the side of the apartment building.
The rain had stopped a few hours ago. Ela turned her face up looking at the pitch-black sky. There, several stars appeared with dim light. "You're like how I feel right now" muttered Elara.
*
The sky was still dark, when Ela opened the door of her apartment that had not been occupied for a long time.
A pale face with hair curled randomly on top. There were dark circles under his eyes. Featuring Ela who hasn't slept all night. Elara's shivering body held back the bone-chilling cold.
After the unit door opens. Ela took a deep breath, taking off her flat carelessly.
For a moment Ela closed her eyes. Then he stepped in to go straight to his room but was surprised to see a male figure who was in need of him at this time. Elara was eager to hug the body, but she did not dare. Ela knew for sure Maxxie demanded an explanation from her.
"Darling what are you doing here?". Ela did not believe what she saw. Several times he blinked his eyes to gather his self-awareness.
"It must be just a dream. But.as really real there is, not a dream", muttered Ela Lirih.
Maxxie did not budge in the slightest from the sofa and Ela was still silent in her place all looking at the man with an adorable look.
The next minute Maxxie massaged his forehead. Without even looking at Ela. Now that Ela knows, Max is really mad at her.
Without looking at the silent Ela peeking at the place she was, Maxxie threw some photos onto the table. "What does all this mean. What's the relationship between you two, huh?"
Netra Ela caught a glimpse of the photos, she knew they were based on CCTV footage that was in Lucifer's company. Ela's eyes are already glazed. It was clearly dark circles and puffiness under those beautiful eyes. He knew this was what he had to face now. Maxxie even Oliver must have demanded that he explain everything.
Now Ela's like a sickle. Standing with pale faces and fingers squeezing each other. His body is so weak. From last night until now his stomach has not eaten anything. After having a hard day for her, Ela has not closed her eyes at all which is so affecting her health. Body's limp.
But now he was faced with a request for an explanation from his fiancee. It felt like Elara did not have the strength to explain everything at the moment.
For the first time Maxxie raised her face and looked at Ela who was standing with a trembling body and a deathly pale face.
"Why are you quiet, Elara. Are there so many lies you keep on your innocent face, huh?"
Maxxie took a deep breath. Get out of his seat again. Approaching Ela who was looking at him with a sad look and quivering lips.
"You know what I hate most in this world, Ela? It's hypocrisy. Falsehoods. And infidelity. I will never be able to accept my partner doing that act!".
"That's why I'm a widower for years. The principle I hold is different from other men. I am serious about my life. I am not a man who gives heart to any woman. I respect women. It feels natural that I want to get a good woman who will be with me, accompany me for the rest of my life", Maxxie said, looking at Elara who could not answer.
Suddenly Elara's tongue was. He didn't budge a bit. But the look in the woman's eyes was so sad to look at Maxxie. Both Elara's neutrals were glazed and felt hot.
"All right, you stay quiet. Your silence means you don't want to explain everything to me".
"It looks like Elland left deep feelings for you, Ela. Even your names are the same. Looks like I'm too quick to agree to your request to get engaged. It's all because you know Elland's back in town".
"I only realized your change that night when you saw Elland's hotel and heard her name. Instantly you change. And I finally know the answer now".
Maxxie's words this time were able to make Ela's cries spill. With a sobbing Ela's body shook.
"I'm sorry, but I mean it with how I feel about you. I-I love you. I don't know where to begin with this explanation" said Ela, holding Maxxie's arm out of her apartment. Ela's still sobbing.
"You better rest. I'll listen to your explanation when you know where to start, Ela" said Maxxie pulling her hand from Ela's. Without looking at Elara, Max goes and closes the door of the luxury unit, leaving Ela alone with feelings of destruction and guilt.
