“Now open your eyes!” azlan whiskey.
“No! I don't want to be dark. Turn on the lights now!” Alexa is still on edge.
“The effect of the bright lights after being turned off will feel very dark, but now it is not as dark as before. Come on, open your eyes!”
Alexa slowly opened her eyes. Limited viewing distance. To him, the room remained dark, though not as dark as it was. He could only see the shadows in front of him.
“Why are you killing the lights? You know I'm most afraid of the dark,” Alexa said annoyed. “I hate you. How can you make me so scared. What do you mean?”
“For a long time you will get used to it, dear. Believe me, there is nothing scary about the dark. All is well. There's no difference between dark and light, this room stays like this, and I'm by your side. What are you afraid of?”
“Why don't you turn on the nightstand?”
“I want to be in the dark with you,” Azlan whispered while landing a brief kiss on Alexa's lips, trying to eliminate the fear in the woman.
Slowly but surely, Alexa's breathing began to calm down, her heartbeat also began to return to normal. “Azlan, you are evil.” Alexa clawed Alexa's back.
Azlan grimaced for a moment to feel Alexa's painful nail claw on her back. He was sure the scratch left a mark. But he endured the pain by trying to be calm.
“Alexa, this is your third task. Don't avoid the dark! I feel very comfortable in a dark place with you,” continued Azlan still with a soft whisper in the ear Alexa. This is how Azlan to make Alexa no longer afraid of the dark. He wanted to try to get his wife out of the dark trauma. He'll be on Alexa's side when it's as dark as it is now.
Alexa is silent, does not dispute Azlan's remarks.
Alexa did not change her position, she felt comfortable in the arms of her husband.
“Calm down, I'm by your side. You'll be safe with me. No ghosts, no demons, nothing bothers you. Didn't you ask that my nafs don't rise? With darkness, I do not see the beauty of your body. And I can control myself so I don't see you. We sleep in the dark like this, huh?”
Silent.
Only the sound of Alexa's breath was heard. His breathing sounded rather loud and regular.
Azlan only realized that Alexa had fallen asleep when he felt the body in his arms was weak. Alexa's arms are no longer wrapped around her back.
Azlan gently rubbed Alexa's forehead and then positioned the pillow right behind Alexa and lay the body into the mattress with the head on the pillow that he had arranged. His hand pulled the blanket and covered Alexa's body with the blanket to the bottom of the chest.
Azlan laid down on Alexa's side with a slanted position facing the woman. He put his arm over the woman's stomach.
In his heart, Azlan prayed, may Alexa will soon be released from the trauma with the dark. Azlan only wants to do the best for his wife, including freeing Alexa from all the burden of trauma.
