Salsa sat on the bed hugging her bent knees. His shoulders moved up and down because of the sobbing. Many times he patted his chest that felt tight. I don't know how long she's been crying, but the crying never subsides. Seven years has been a waste. He remains defeated, Elgar's heart remains for Mila.
The phone next to him rang, with Ben's name on screen. Salsa ignored him, letting the flat object ring until it stopped on its own. But before long, because a while later, it rang again.
Salsa wiped her tears. Breathe in and throw it away slowly. After being quiet enough, he answered a call from Ben.
"Hallo." Salsa controlled her voice so she wouldn't hear her cry.
"Hallo, Honey, are you ok?"
Salsa shut her mouth. He didn't want Ben to hear the rest of the stuff.
"Honey, are you okay? I'm worried about you, I don't feel calm."
Ben's words made Salsa could not hold back her crying. Ben was indeed the man who understood him the most all along. Salsa's crying voice caused Ben to panic.
"Honey, you're fighting? What's up Honey?"
The sound of Salsa's cry grew louder, making it across the street, Ben was struck by anxiety.
"Sa, where are you, where do I pick you up now?"
Salsa was just crying, not answering any of Ben's questions since.
"Sa, please, talk Sa. Don't make me worry. Where are you? I'm picking it up now."
"I'm at Ben's." Salsa replied softly, interrupted by his sobbing.
"I'm there now." The phone connection was cut off.
Salsa put the pizza back on the bed. Staring at every corner of the room he had been with Elgar for these seven years. Salsa felt the bed she was sitting on. In the past, in this bed, she and Elgar had a husband and wife relationship. But it does not feel like making love, only limited to the fulfillment of inner living. And for almost two years now, he and Elgarr have never done it again.
Salsa moved from the bed to the dresser. The goods that had just been a few hours ago he took out of the suitcase and stacked it on the table, he put it back in the suitcase again. Salsa also packed some of her clothes.
As soon as Ben called and said he was in front of the house, Salsa rushed out by dragging her big suitcase. Steadied, he runs into Miss Dirga.
"You want to go again?" Ms. Dirga Keget saw Salsa had pulled a large suitcase, but only a few hours ago her daughter-in-law came home. Not only the suitcase, Salsa's puffy eyes did not escape his attention. Just got Elgar out with a big suitcase, now Salsa? What the hell is going on?
"Salsa wants to go first ma."
"Where?"
"home."
"Come home?" Ms. Dirga frowned. Isn't this his house, where else to go.
"Go home to my parents. Excuse me Mah, Salsa go first." Salsa left Ms. Dirga who was still unmoved with a thousand questions in her head.
Salsa left without a car because in front of the gate, Ben was waiting for him. Seeing Salsa come out, the man rushed to open the car door and drove his car away from the big house.
In the car, Ben repeatedly turned to look at Salsa who was sitting next to him. Occasionally he still saw Salsa wiping away the tears, but still refrained from asking.
"My eyes go to my parents' house, Ben."
"You sure? Wouldn't it be better to just go to my apartment?"
Salsa. "I want to go home. I miss papa mama."
Ben grabbed Salsa by the hand and kissed her. "All right, it's up to you." Ben drives his car to Salsa's parents' house.
"What really happened Sa?" Although Salsa always comes with a thousand complaints and household problems, but Ben has never seen Salsa as broken as this.
Salsa was silent, she was staring at the window. See dozens of shophouses and buildings on the side of the road. In the past, she went through this road with Elgar, but it seems, in the future, she will no longer go through this road with her ex-husband. Although there has been no legal verdict, Elgar has dropped his talisman, that means, they are legally divorced religiously..
"I'm fine Ben."
Ben sighed. He grew even more worried when Salsa chose to be silent like this. He prefers Salsa as he usually does, running amok, throwing things, and cursing maki. At least he could tell what the problem was and unlike now, could only guess second-guess.
Ben's car stops right in front of the high gate of Salsa's house.
"Call me if you need anything. I will always be there for you anytime and anywhere. I love you." Ben kissed Salsa's forehead long ago and the two got out of the car.
Ben helped bring down the bag of Salsa. After Salsa entered, he immediately left from there. It was very desirable for Ben to come in, but his status which is only a dark lover does not allow it. Not to mention his profession as a painter, definitely not the ideal son-in-law in the eyes of Mr. Rendra. Successful business people like Elgar who papa Salsa likes. Salsa alone had to hide from channeling her painting talent because her papa didn't like it. She wants Salsa to be a successful women's business.
Mrs Rendra was so happy to see her son coming. She thinks Salsa pulled a big suitcase because she just came home from abroad. But as his position got closer, he realized that there was something. Salsa's face could not hide the fact that the woman was crying.
"A, what's up, baby?" Not an answer, but a hug. Salsa hugged her mother and cried there again.
Buru Buru Bu Rendra took Salsa into one of the nearby guest rooms and locked it. She didn't want her husband to see their daughter's condition. She knew how dear her husband was to Salsa. He won't be able to calm down if anything happens to Salsa.
"What's Sa?" Ms. Rendra wiped away Salsa's tears and tidied up her hair that partially covered her face.
"El mah, El dropped his talons on Salsa."
Deg
Ms. Rendra held her chest. Why all trials occur in tubes at the same time. While her husband was struggling with his illness, Salsa gave no less shocking news, namely the separation with Elgar.
Ms. Rendra hugged Salsa, her hands moving caressing her daughter's beautiful mane.
"I lost ma, I lost. The woman again won Elgar's heart. A, I have to how mah?"
Miss Rendra sighed. For her, right now the most important thing is the health of her husband.
"Can this matter, don't let your father know."
Salsa immediately let go of her embrace, looking at the mother question markingly. Wasn't his own mother who always told him to complain to his father if something happened, then why is it currently prohibited. What the hell is going on?
"Ke, why Ma?"
Ms. Rendra could not hold back tears. The middle-aged woman sat on the bed holding her chest which felt tight.
"Well, what's wrong?" Salsa sat down in front of her mother, holding both hands.
"Papa.papa..."
"Why why?" salsa urged.
"Papa has terminal brain cancer."
Salsa was sitting limp on the floor, clutching her chest as she slowly massaged. Her tears were no longer coming out, her chest was very tight. She had already lost her husband, would she also lose her first love, which was her papa?
"Your father hid his illness from us Sa. Mama's so sorry, why just find out when it's so bad like this." Miss Rendra is back sobbing.
Salsa went out of the room to see her father. And apparently, Mr. Rendra was at the dinner table, waiting for his wife to have lunch.
"Salsa, when did you come baby?" Mr. Rendra looks happy to see his son coming.
Salsa flinch, it feels like only a month he did not meet his father, but why his papa body suddenly so thin like this. His father who usually looks dashing, today looks old and weak. Usually, the adjutant who was dressed in full suit was always next to his father, but now, a woman dressed as a nun was next to him.
Salsa bit her lower lip, she can't cry in front of her papa. With legs that felt weak, he walked up to Mr. Rendra and hugged him.
"Excuse Salsa Pah, forgive Salsa." Salsa regretted having just learned of her papa disease.
