Dara woke up when suddenly her chest was so tight. Like there was a heavy object pushing it. He who was still slightly affected by alcohol, blinked his eyes looking forward. Surprisingly, his body was hard to move.
He only realized what was going on after hearing the cry of someone beside him. Oh-no. Not beside him, but on his shoulder, with a part of one's body overriding him.
"Aargha!" pekik Dara while inching to the edge of the bed. His eyes are perfectly round. His chest was beating fast.
"Hey, good morning, Dara," said Nicholas with a big smile, bare chest and messy hair.
"You!" show Dara. "What-the-hell-did-you-do-to-me?!" His gaze was sharp towards Nicholas. Then check the clothes on his body. Still like last night, it's just that some buttons are open.
"Nothing" replied Nicholas, raising his hand. But, his lips still revealed a wide smile.
"Why am I in your bed and why are you sleeping next to me?" ask Dara suspiciously. He didn't feel anything strange about him. But, still he was suspicious, his body had been swayed by the annoying young man.
"You passed out last night in my arms, Dara," snorted Nicholas.
"No way!"
"Wanna see the cctv footage?"
"Eerrrrgh!" furious Dara. One by one his memories will appear last night. He who was chatty, told all his complaints to Nicholas, even his life story he told the young man.
And then it became very melodramatic. Crying literally spills sadness that last night seemed so stifling to the chest. And, the most ridiculous thing is, he just threw himself into Nicholas' arms, crying and crying, until he remembered nothing more.
"Do you remember now?" kekeh Nicholas while tidying his hair a little long.
"You didn't do anything weird to me, did you?" ask Dara full of search.
"If about that, after I brought you here, mmm .. I don't remember anything either."
Dara growled in annoyance. He tidied up his clothes, checked his face, then stepped out of the room.
"Hey, wait, Dara! Let me take you, " Nicholas said while wearing blue jeans.
"No need."
"I'm forcing!"
Dara hissing. Finally, he just complied. Nicholas must not have given the door code to his apartment, and he could not have gotten out of this place if the young man had not driven him.
Along the way in Nicholas' Cadillac, the two drown in silence. But, Nicholas was unceasingly smiling.
"Trust me, Dara. I didn't do anything."
"When I woke up part of your body was beating on me!"
"How can I control my body's movements when I'm fast asleep. Maybe, last night I thought you were a bolster," chuckled Nicholas.
"But, I didn't touch ...." Nicholas pointed at Dara's chest with his chin.
Dara hissing. He hoped that what Nicholas said was true. There was nothing strange in him. Ah-but imagining Nicholas already groaning around her body last night, makes her shudder.
"Thanks" said Dara, opening the car door.
"Hey, Dara!" call Nicholas to stop Dara from closing the door. "Thanks. It was fun (Every night is fun)," he said.
Dara smiled thinly. I don't know what he's feeling right now. Clearly, he felt so strange. Moreover, seeing the other side of Nicholas last night. He admitted, Nicholas is a good listener.
Entering his apartment, of course Gwen strafed him with questions. His best friend looked so anxious and annoyed.
"Sorry, Gwen," said Dara, throwing her body on a shabby sofa. Not as plump and soft as a sofa in Nicholas' apartment of course. How many apartments did the young man have. Last night's apartment was much more luxurious than the previous apartment, when Nicholas kidnapped her for the first time.
"Your bags and clothes I've brought home."
Dara grimacing. "Thank, Gwen" he said, hugging his best friend.
"I'm worried half dead. No one knows where you're going. Some say you went with one of the male guests. Is true?" Gwen squinted her eyes at Dara.
Dara returned grimacing. "Nicholas kidnapped me."
Gwen rounded her hazel sliced eyes. "Nicholas? Nicholas Johanssen's? He was at the gala dinner last night?" tanyakanya.
Dara nodded as she stomped her nape. "I'm also surprised he's there."
"Ah, of course. He comes from the most important family in Edinburgh" said Gwen. But, what attracted him more was, the reason Dara went with the young conglomerate.
Dara recounts everything that happened, from beginning to end, with nothing left behind. Including, he sees Braden kissing Alison at Leith Riverside, and Nicholas who comforts her in strange ways.
"Yes, geez. That fucking Nicholas with you?"
Dara put her shoulders down. The same question. But, Dara felt more that Nicholas was happy to bully her, rather than being called caring.
"Did he like you?" Gwen tapped her chin.
"Oh, no, no. He just seems happy to bully me. Maybe he thinks I'm an easy target."
"From what you've told me about her attitude towards you, it seems she does care about you."
Dara shook her head hard. "Come, Gwen. You know who Nicholas is and who I am. He can get any girl he wants. Even a famous celebrity, if he wanted he could get it. It doesn't make sense that he cares about me."
"Hm ...." Gwen thumped a lip. "Maybe he's bored and wants to try something different. He is tired of top class beautiful women and glamour. Maybe he wants to try a simple girl like you."
Dara exhaled. "If his intentions are like that, I'll make sure he doesn't have any experience with me!"
Gwen giggles. He watched Dara carefully. His face was swollen and his eyes were swollen. As his best friend told him, he cried almost all night, in Nicholas' arms.
"By the way, I'm sorry about Braden, too," said Gwen. "Well how else? Braden and your boss are together, aren't they?"
Dara speechless. It still feels painful to remember that. He lamented his feelings that ran aground just like that. He really liked that young man.
"Already, Dara. You better get close to Nicholas," said Gwen. "Isn't he much more everything than Braden?"
"It's not gonna happen happen (It won't happen)!" dara was sure. It had never been thought of her having a lover like Nicholas. How appalling.
"Be careful what you say, Dara. What you're avoiding, it could be that's always getting close to you."
Dara rolled her eyes. "It's not gonna happen!" repeat with the same belief.
Gwen giggles. "We'll see later," she said.
"Just whatever. Nicholas is a Big No!"
It's a Big No. The young man is annoying, perverted, self-absorbed, filters his words badly, ignorant, and pushy. Dara tried to remember all the ugliness of Nicholas without wanting to know the good side of the young man, which had made him feel, strange.
