At eight in the morning, Andri and I headed to my house using Mang Ujang's car with various preparations that we had prepared carefully.
Starting from hoes to various tools for gardening, we also brought in the first field investigation that we will do starting today.
The sunlight that had not been so stinging made me and Andri hurriedly start our work upon arrival in my yard.
With Vin's old books on which we have written the point, Andri and I began combing through the former flower garden of the Luccane family trying to find clues.
Thanks to the help of Carly and some of my major friends, I managed to get some old papers that contained the disappearance of important people in the Dutch East Indies era.
Somehow they found the newspaper, which obviously helps me a lot.
Although Luccane can't show up to help me anymore, but I am grateful to have Andri standing by my side to help with every step I take, even though I am sure it is not easy for him.
Andri's sturdy hand was ready to hold the hoe, preparing to dig a point of land that we thought was suspicious following the direction of the note I was holding.
"Let's get started. I'll try calling Jansen while helping you dig," I said as I stuffed the notebook I had previously held into my pants pocket.
Andri nodded in reverence, giving me a pair of rubber gloves then.
"Wear this, your hands should not be hurt. If your hand is hurt, I can be scolded by Mom and Dad" Andri said as he began swinging his hoe where we had marked.
I started to close my eyes, looking for a wave of Jansen's existence trying to call out to him so that we could immediately help us find what Andri and I were looking for.
"Accordingly, Andri did have to dig there up to two meters," said Jansen who suddenly appeared from behind a large tree near the back gate, enough to make me shocked until a small jerk.
"Who is buried there?" I asked while waiting for Jansen to come closer.
"His first victim, Mevrouw Adelia. A daughter of the Luccane family's business rival. I had met the girl several times while still alive, I heard from various sources he said he did put his heart to Luccane," Jansen explained.
While listening to the explanation from Jansen, I was also busy helping Andri dig using a small hoe for faster digging.
Andri's breath seemed to sting, but he still dig spirit make my spirit also burned.
"Look! There's a human skull!" andri shouted while pointing at a skull in the hole that we managed to dig.
"We'll just pick up and call the police. I'm going to contact the owner of this house to try to find another clue" I concluded and then started collecting the bones we found.
...****************...
"How can you find the bones of a human that has even been dead for so long?" asked a police officer shortly after I entered the examination room at the police station.
Andri and I were taken into a different room but I was sure Andri could give an answer that was roughly similar to mine.
Clearly, Andri and I managed to take one step forward to help Luccane rest in peace at his side.
The examination room was very quiet, there was only me and a police officer but managed to make my chest thump with nervousness. All my life, only this time I deal with the authorities directly like this.
"Then, where is the original owner?" the police officer asked without taking his eyes off the monitor in front of him.
"The owner of the house is living in Jakarta at the moment, sir. I do not know for sure what reason he chose to settle in Jakarta," I answered honestly, recalling the information from the neighbors around who know more about the figure of Mr. Ricky, the owner of the house.
"How long has my sister been living in that house?"
"About a year and a month, sir. But lately because I feel that the house is less comfortable to live in makes me stay more often at the Andri family home."
"Can you bring the books here later? We need the book as an investigation."
"certain, Sir. Tomorrow morning I'll bring the books here."
"Thank you for the sister's cooperation. We'll call back soon if we get any updates on the case."
After a long period of interrogation, Andri and I were finally allowed to go home. Along the way, Andri and I walked out of the police station intending to go straight home to the Mang Ujang family.
"Have we done the right thing, Andri?" I was suspicious of Andri.
The young man smiled, implying the calmness behind his beautiful face trying to drive away the uneasiness in my mind.
"Calm down, we've done the best we can. I hope we can also find another clue after this" Andri said trying to cheer me up.
When I entered the car, I felt my head and shoulders feeling very heavy like there was 'something' about to enter my body.
I quickly spoke the name of the Lord out loud, trying to drive out anyone who tried to enter me.
"Why you?" ask Andri worried.
"You see there's no 'something' trying to get into me?" I asked Andri who was sitting behind the wheel of his car.
He shook his head quickly. "no really, maybe it's because you're tired again so that's it."
I actually really want to believe Andri's words but unfortunately my feelings say that there is something hidden by Andri related to the incident just now. After all my intuition was so sharp, I could even tell that someone was telling the truth or lying to me.
"I hope you're not trying to cover something from me huh. I just want it all done and to live my life normally" my great-grandson put on her seatbelt after Andri started the engine.
"I also hope you can move on immediately from Luccane to live happier," Andri said in a soft voice, almost disguised by the sound of his car engine.
I chose to be quiet, my mind felt very chaotic because it was recalled by the figure of Luccane who I still love.
"Vishabea, you missed something!"
I tried to find the source of the whisper just now, but nil. I only found Andri who was driving his car calmly befriended the sound of music playing slowly from the radio.
Who was whispering just now? I believe that voice belongs to a man!
