The Duhai Soulmate

“Who is he, Fi?” ask Anwar while putting on his seat belt. She saw Usfi staring at the man from behind the window of the bus that stopped next to her car, intensely, not even realizing that her husband had gone inside.

Usfi turned towards Anwar while shrugging his shoulders. Anwar began to step on the gas pedal and left the refueling area.

“Why does he see you so, like you know each other?”

“Maybe!”

Suddenly Anwar became doubtful, and he questioned his curiosity from earlier.

“Where do you know my postal address?”

“From friends, his name is Nafisa he is a cop and knows Mas keep him asking if Mas married again ... ya keep me there, not his Mas cheating!”

“I'm not cheating! I'm trying to take care of myself for you?”

“By believing Ramlan's? Continue to serve Marini who tried to take the heart of Mas Anwar? Yes!”

“Udah, that's it! Don't start again!”

“Mas who started! Ah, do not believe the same prophecy and prktik shaman .. it shirk, Mas!”

“Who went to the shaman, anyway?”

“To whom is his Father or Uncle Marini if not a shaman? Believe that, many people today believe more mystical things, than their own religious books! Mas, we are husband and wife who are like soul mates. So, my soulmate ... understand, I'm like this because I love you, Mas!"

Anwar was silent and remained focused on looking out onto the streets.

“Mas .. could be, over time Mas will fall in love with the woman if continuously together. Like we were ... We do not know before, do not have the slightest feeling of love, even many things I did not hear about Mas Anwar, but finally I can accept and love Mas completely as a husband.”

The car kept going fast.

“One more thing, Mas, why would I want to get married even though it is the second, I am sure that Mas will not be tempted again with other women after having a wife other than Mbak Mai. Turns out I was wrong, still you want to be friendly with the woman when you know she is not your right!”

Anwar was silent. He did not want to interrupt Usfi's words even though his teeth clenched in anger at hearing all those words. His face began to darken indicating how his current mood was.

If it wasn't in the car maybe he left or he gagged Usfi's mouth. He was still worried about Maisha's situation, but his second wife continued to lecture him about Marini.

Suddenly Anwar stopped his car.

“You want to come to the hospital or go home Abah?”

Usfi was silent and thinking, while looking around outside the window. They were at a red light, a crossroads, between his father's house and the hospital. If she goes to the hospital, she worries that Maisha is jealous to see her husband coming with her.

It could be that Maisha thought that Anwar did not come home all this time because he was with Usfi, when what he saw was not what he saw.

“I'm down here only, let's find a taxi to Abah's house!”

“Yes there, don't go home if I haven't picked up yet. I don't feel good about Abah if you come and go home by yourself!”

After Usfi got out of the car and closed the door, Anwar immediately drove forward at high speed, while his wife, standing on the sidewalk waiting for a taxi.

Not too long Usfi waited, the taxi awaited came then, took him away to the house of his parents. However, how surprised when he went in there, he saw Gani was joking with his father and mother.

Everyone who was there turned their heads as they spoke to each other and returned greetings. There is Sholeh and Halimah—his wife, commonly called Ima, Gani, and Dedah, their assistant and neighbor who worked for several years there.

“Wah, you happened to come home, Fi! Look who's coming!” sholeh said, Usfi's father waved his hand. The old man, whose hair had turned white, was sitting on a single sofa between the couches in the living room of his house.

Gani and Usfi throw each other a glance, they had met behind the glass earlier, who would have thought that they would meet again.

Gani thinks Usfi must have gone home with Anwar who he clearly saw together in one car. While Usfi thought Gani must have gone home to her mother's house.

“Tumben you come home late in the afternoon, Fi? Usually if the afternoon is busy wrapping vegetables because the night wants to be sent to the market?” ima—abunya.

“Today, I am off work, Ambush!” sahut Usfi while greeting and kissing the back of his parents' hands.

“You alone, Fi? Not with Anwar?” sholeh—his.

“Mas Anwar to hospital, Abah. Ma'am is sick he said!” sahut Usfi while sitting near his mother. He doesn't look at Gani anymore, thinking of her as the wind blowing and going.

While Dedah, his assistant resigned after shaking hands with Usfi. Although the woman was only a maid, but, Usfi still respected her for being older.

“Maasya Allah, Mai is sick? What pain is he, Fi? Been in the hospital?” the word Ima looks so worried.

“New today, I don't know yet, Ambush. Later I call Mas Anwar again if you want to know what the disease.”

The two Usfi elders nodded.

“Eh, yes, Fi. You remember Gani, right? He hasn't changed yeah, still like he used to!” ima said again, while smiling, as well as Usfi.

“Oh yes, Nak Gani, sometime bring his wife and son here, let's know Abah same Ambuk!” sholeh said calmly as he sipped the warm tea that the Drug served on the table.

“Iya, Abah. They were far away, in the Lake, with my mother-in-law! Moreover, he also works, so, can not be invited just like that.” Gani said kindly, they had been familiar like that and for three years they had not met.

Usfi was surprised how Gani could get to his house faster when earlier, Anwar finished refueling faster, than the bus that was boarded by Gani.

When he saw Usfi in the car with Anwar, Gani immediately got off the bus he was riding and took an ojek, until he got to Sholeh's house faster. He was so curious about what was behind Usfi's marriage, as the woman had told him a month ago.

But unfortunately, he had not had time to ask what he wanted to know, the girl appeared suddenly making Gani only able to sigh deeply, because she had to cancel her intention.

In fact, he was currently so amazed with Ima and Sholeh that, looking so panicked to hear the news that Maisha was sick. Others will be astonished to see her, not just Gani, because Maisha is another wife of their daughter-in-law.

“Keep, where do you work now, Gan?” ask Sholeh.

“He's my cooperation, Abah. So, Usfi's men!” The girl answered the questions of her parents without any burden.

“What?” the words Sholeh and Ima were simultaneously with faces full of question marks.
