CONFESSION STONED

CONFESSION STONED
81. Surprise Gift

“Gimana—gimana?” bara asked when Wirya had just sat himself in the seat next to the driver. The car door has not even closed.

“Daddy breathe first can?” sindir pak Wirya on Bara's impatience.

“Sorry..” Mumbles Bara.

“So dad said don't come first, instead stand there long.” Mr. Wirya nagged Bara about the scene of his charm spread outside the scenario.

“I just wanted to see him for a minute. Kangen... Sorry,” said Bara.

“After being looked at?”

“Makin want to squirm continuously,” Bara said.

Bara's behavior now reminds Mr. Wirya of his son during the 3rd grade of Junior High. Bara often asked him to stop the girl he liked in class to go to school together. Mr. Wirya acted as his son's driver at the time.

“Ra, previously dad wanted it..”.

“What?” sela Bara was impatient. He glanced at Wirya, who was sitting next to him.

“Seriously are you the same Colored?”

“Seriously so. You know, if I spend a lot of money to pay a lawyer to get a lawyer to get Sejah not to deal with the police station?” ask Bara.

“Tau. But it could be because you feel sorry. There are still many good people who can be moved if they know what is experienced by Dijah.”

“More than just pity. Maybe I felt sorry at first. Trus I empathize, so sympathy then fall in love.”

“Pinter you said,” said Mr. Wirya.

“I'm serious. I love Colored. Baby son. Regardless of who his father is. Wh why? I disagree ya?” todong Bara direct.

“Bukan—not that. Denger. Widya's mother has detailed the case. The background of the colonized as well as the events he experienced first. Bu Widya conveyed that as a professional of course. He didn't even know you were a father's son at first. So, long story short father has read all the notes about the Colonized. And there was one thing that stuck my mind. Although it should be a patient secret, but as a father, I want you to know so you can think first.”

“What is it?” ask Bara a little scared. He was afraid of hearing things he had not known about the Colonies.

“If you intend to invite Dijah to marry and form a family— in the sense that you want to have children... Seems like Dijah has still not recovered from that trauma. After giving birth to Dul, Dijah's psychic condition was shaken. And... The colonized asked Bu Widya for sterilization. But..”

“Would not get pregnant again?” ask Bara with a pias face. Of course he wants a child from his wife later. It's worth the Sejahs all this time not to worry about every single one they relate to. What happens if he gets married but his wife can't have children.

Bara even considered himself immature because several times he did it with Dijah, his lover did not cry for accountability because pregnant like the stories he had heard.

“Denger first..” Mr. Wirya looked cynically at his son.

“Oh sorry—maaf... Father please continue.” Bara clenched his mouth and glanced at the father.

“Doctors also refuse that a woman in a very young and productive age perform sterilization. The future of the city is still very long. He's too young. So the doctor gave her an IUD for 10 years. It made Dijah let go of his worries of being forced to conceive a baby from a man he did not want. It made Dijah think, he had his body again. He doesn't want to be exploited. You know what it means?” Mr. Wirya made sure Bara understood his point.

“Ngerti...” Suhut Bara. “So..”.

“So, if you invite Dijah to get married and want to have children, you have to be patient until he trusts you to have it whole. Inget Ra, Sejah has lived for years with the thought that at any moment he could be hurt. That's the defense,” explained Mr. Wirya.

He stared at the street in front of him.

“Weight huh?” ask Mr. Wirya to make sure. “As a father, heavy father. The stigma attached to being colonized is very bad in our society. But as a human being, especially someone who understands this, my father was compassionate to the Colonized. It's not her fault that she did. Rejecting him outright, you can feel inferior. Bad luck can happen to anyone. Not just to get laid. Could be to our family.” Wirya took a deep breath.

“I can wait,” said Bara later. “I'm not in too much of a hurry about that. I just want to make sure that Colonized doesn't change attitude to me.”

“She still has feelings for you. I can see if Sejah actually never forget you. I suppose... You're the most beautiful part of the memory of the life of the colonized. Dad so curious how your attitude has been to him” explained Mr. Wirya.

“Yaa... Ordinary aja. Dating other normal people.” Bara did not dare to look at his father. He was worried about making a face that would open his mind.

“So you are sure?” ask Mr. Wirya to convince his son.

“Yakin,” reply Bara briefly. Although she did not know how long it would take to get Dijah to conceive her child if they married later, she was sure that she could eliminate the trauma of the Colonies.

“So in the meantime you have to be patient... Let it be colonized by itself. Can?” Mr. Wirya examined the facial features of Bara's response to his remarks just now.

“Sabar..” sahut pak Wirya relaxed.

“We've sampe, dad is okay waiting in the car for a while?” ask Bara when he arrives at a building similar to a dormitory.

“Nothing,” replied Wirya sir. “Solve aja your affairs.”

“OK, this one is not long. I just picked up and ran into that house.” Bara then got out of the car and ran into the building.

*****

Morning time. The day after the promised Mr. Wirya has arrived. But the old man had not seen his nose in the house since morning.

“Which father is Bu?” ask Bara. “The show will soon be. Mommy okay sitting alone here?”

“Nothing. Dad might be a little late. But it's definitely coming. He said on the road, you sit there in front. I'm okay sitting here.”

Bara stood agitated by wearing his toga, constantly looking at the entrance of the building where the graduation ceremony was held that day.

That day was the graduation day of the magister that Bara had promised to his parents. Soon the event begins, the entrance will be closed. Bara will sit in the student line but he does not feel good if he has to leave his mother sitting there alone.

“Yes, it's okay... I sit forward,” Bara told Bu Yanti.

“Ya it's okay,” replied Bu Yanti who was very beautiful that morning with a green kebaya suit of shoots and orange songket.

Bara then turned forward towards the row of student seats.

Few steps running, “Mas Bara!” call a woman.

He stopped and looked directly back. His voice was familiar, but it was impossible to call him 'Mas'. When he turned around, Bara's eyes widened. In a gaze and hearing that Bara had not completely trusted, her feet walked up to the young lady who had just shouted her name.

“Kamu—” Bara looked closely at the figure of the woman he missed so much.

“Mas Bara's... Congratulations yes..” The colonized held out a small bouquet of fresh flowers at Bara. Thin smile decorate face Colored.

“Yeah...” whispered Bara while taking a bouquet of flowers proffered to her.

Bara stared at Dijah from the tip of her hair to the tip of her foot. The woman was wearing a creamy sweet top that she tucked into a brown skirt that stretched down to her knees. The much-loved beige shoes Bara wrapped around the leg Colored.

This was the first time Bara saw Dijah wearing a skirt. With the fresh aura that the woman exuded, Dijah instead looked like an ABG. Bara's eyes traced each side of the body of the Colored One who stood linking hands in front of him.

"Oh my goodness." whispered again. Beautifully thought he. Bara can hardly believe that he and Seized already... They resembled a pair of humans who had just met because of being betrothed. That ridiculous delusion made Bara even more stare at his smile.

“Ra... The student was called to sit ahead. The show will start.” Mr. Wirya called his son who was not aware of the shock.

“Oh yes-yes." Bara nodded at Mr. Wirya who momentarily forgotten his presence.

"You didn't go right away, did you? It's still here, right? His show—it's just about to start,” said Bara nervously. His heart is happy. Colored come, Colored here whispered in the heart.

“I wait for Mas Bara until the show is over,” replied Dijah.

She clenched her mouth nervously. He felt that his face must have been very red at that moment.

“OK, i... Go there first. Mmmm—you just sit there. Finish my event directly here.” She bit her lips to hold back a smile. He retreated a few steps but his gaze was still not separated from the Colonized who still stood.

“I went there first..” Bara again. Sejah nodded. Bara then turned around and smiled widely and kissed the small bouquet of flowers in his hand many times.

“Yes geez.. Colored calling Mas..” murmured Bara then covered his mouth with the palm of his hand.

Bara then sat in the chair of the row of students. Sitting restless. Many times Bara looked back to find a speck of vision of the Sejah from between the shoulders of the guests. Seeing Dijah who seemed to be talking to his mother, Bara turned back to look ahead.

"Woooww.." said Bara without a sound. He held his chest that had been pounding violently since as if he had just met a woman for the first time in his life.
