Absolute Soul
84. Spaceless Blazers

"Still as weak as that dare to underestimate Blazer Cardinal?" Veindal was amazed at Charles who underestimated him, even though in terms of attacks Charles was still far below him. The proof is that Veindal was even able to kick Charles to such an extent with only his little physical strength plus soul energy.

Veindal rubbed his chin for a moment wondering if he was using his strength excessively to kill Charles unintentionally, but moments later several wind spears shot towards him from below.

"Oh, you're still alive apparently," Veindal said as he avoided throwing the spear casually looking down at Charles.

Charles's figure arguably survived after being hit by Veindal's powerful kick and fell from a height of dozens of meters, but his condition was quite alarming. Charles was seriously injured in several places.

"Well, why do you know this protective weakness?" Charles looked angry at Veindal, not accepting why he could be attacked like this.

Veindal grinned in response to Charles' words, leaving Charles unable to contain his sense of regret and throwing another wind spear, "Our servant, old man!"

Veindal sighed while shaking his head for a moment feeling disappointed at Charles' development which turned out to be too excessive after avoiding Charles' spear throw easily, "I think your brain also developed, too, it turns out that only your Soul Arc is getting stronger."

"What do you say, old man?" Charles was eager to throw another wind spear in annoyance, but he realized his condition was quite badly injured. Even if he was able to launch another attack, Veindal might be able to dodge everything easily using the Blitzwalk.

Veindal scratched his head in disappointment, but he did not ignore Charles' request and explained the reason why he knew the weakness of his patron, "First, you just attacked from a distance."

It was clear that Charles had so far continued to soar through the air and deploy long-range attacks from safety, this was also seen from how he seemed to repel Veindal as far as possible using his Tornado Spear and Tornado Party.

"Secondly, you didn't realize I was doing some experiments on your protector," Veindal said, pointing to Charles' patron.

He explained that during this time he had not only attacked, but also noticed differences in each attack that hit Charles' protector. He also had time to throw a few pebbles for the sake of the experiment.

The first time Veindal threw a pebble was a pebble augmented by a certain amount of his lightning-element soul energy. The gravel throw is arguably half successful and half failed.

It was caused by the pebble had been held in the protector and the lightning element that flowed Veindal disappeared when it reached Charles' protector, but once the lightning element disappeared the pebble that was thrown Veindal was seen through Charles' protector briefly.

Veindal used the first experiment on the second, which was to throw ordinary pebbles only with physical strength slightly amplified by soul energy without any additional. As a result, the pebble just passed without any obstruction.

"I'm not sure about my analysis either, but fortunately it worked" Veindal said, closing his explanation while folding his hands to his chest, "Your shield can absorb or remove anything related to soul energy, but not with objects or physical force."

Charles clenched his teeth at Veindal's explanation, creating dozens of Spear Tornadoes and hurling them all towards Veindal, "Then, what if you knew that?!"

Veindal once again sighed seeing Charles' reaction, he simply dodged all of Charles' wind spears and walked quickly up to the man using the Blitzwalk, then immersed his fist without his soul energy in Charles' stomach.

"Ugh!" Only a word of it came out of Charles as a groan of pain before falling to his knees while holding his stomach in pain.

"Your strength is indeed at Blazer Master level or even close to God's level, but challenging the Blazer Cardinal to rely on just a Soul Device is obviously a foolish act." After saying so Veindal took a belt-shaped device from Charles, making the man protest.

Veindal watched the belt carefully for a while before coming to a conclusion, "Oh, isn't this the Magic Absorber Shield? A rare Soul Device that could absorb an opponent's magic attack? It's also great that you can get stuff like this."

Charles wanted to say something but to no avail, he lost consciousness first before he could say it. Veindal sighed softly looking at the unconscious figure of Charles while scratching his head.

"How did you turn out that way, Charles Kindheart?" Veindal wondered how someone so genius and hard-working as Charles, the child he had been taught, could fall down the wrong path this deep, even to the point of joining a criminal organization like Blackout.

"Well, that will trouble us, Mr. Blazer Cardinal," said someone.

Veindal who heard the voice instantly took a step back to keep his distance, his eyes widened violently not believing a Cardinal-level Blazer seemed unable to sense the presence of someone other than Charles around him.

Located a few meters away from Charles who was unconscious, a black-robed figure that was not clear apparently. The figure came out from a black vortex the size of a human all of a sudden.

Veindal's expression instantly changed seeing the figure, he immediately picked up the fighting horses and increased the pressure of his soul energy preparing to face the cloaked figure, "You... Spaceless Blazers...."

"Ah, you recognize me? It is an honor to be recognized and watched out for by Veindal Volksky, the Warlord of White Lightning." The figure bent his body for a moment in response to Veindal's words.

Veindal never expected his words to be responded to, so he created a Blitzbolt in his hand and directly threw it towards the figure nicknamed the Spaceless Blazer.

Unfortunately, the Blitzbolt Veindal was successfully thwarted by a small black vortex that swallowed its small lightning spear. That made Veindal frown, "So, the rumor that Spaceless Blazer has a Soul Arc capable of manipulating space and time is true?"

The figure behind the name Spaceless Blazer chuckled softly in response to Veindal's shock, "Please theorize as you please, I won't forbid."

He then opened the black vortex on the floor where Charles was lying after saying so. Charles' body seemed to be sucked by the black vortex slowly.

Veindal wanted to take Charles forward before it was too late, but he had not yet moved Spaceless Blazer had fired something like a black ball that successfully made Veindal move away to dodge.

"Oh, so the rumor about your ability to read lightning-fast movements is true?" The Spaceless Blazer felt shocked at Veindal's unexpected reaction, "If it's not Blitzsight's fault, is it?"

Veindal's brows twitched for a moment hearing Spaceless Blazer's words, "You know about my abilities?"

"Of course, if not then it is impossible that we would dare to attack Adele so blatantly like this." Spaceless Blazer laughed amusedly at Veindal's reaction, "There's no need to be too surprised so."

After Charles was fully immersed into his black vortex, the Spaceless Blazer leapt high while opening another black vortex above, "See you, Warlord of White Lightning. If you manage to defend this beautiful city and survive, then we will meet again in another place or time."

"Wait a minute!" Veindal wanted to move and approach the figure behind the name Spaceless Blazer, but he was late. The Spaceless Blazer had already disappeared being swallowed by the black vortex as if it had never been there before.

The middle-aged man clenched his hands tightly feeling annoyed at being played by the Spaceless Blazer. Although it was just a rumor, now he knew that the Spaceless Blazer was really on Blackout's side.

"Head! Principal!"

As Veindal's attention was still fixated on the Spaceless Blazer, an academy teacher exclaimed to call out to him frantically. He immediately went to the teacher and asked, "What's wrong? Why panic like that?"

"Vergs! There's Verg on the city wall!" The teacher panicked.

"Theyberg? We're being attacked by Blackout and Verg inside the city, why are you freaking out with Verg outside the walls?" Veindal raised his eyebrows feeling astonished towards the teacher.

"No, Chief, you don't understand!" The teacher held Veindal's collar and pulled it out as if he were completely desperate, "Beyond the city walls are two Chimera-class Vergs and one Goliath-class!"
