Absolute Soul

Absolute Soul
10. Misunderstanding - 1.) The Freshman Arc (End)

"Wait a minute, what did you say?" Haikal tilted his head in disbelief at his hearing.

"Fight with me in this place, right now." Salvia gave a sharp look to Haikal.

Without waiting for the approval from Haikal, Salvia immediately threw a palm strike aimed at the black-haired young man's face. Obviously Haikal was surprised to see Salvia's actions, but he was able to avoid them easily.

Haikal immediately got up from the chair and took a few steps to keep his distance, "What are you doing, Salvia?"

"Attacking you of course." Salvia stepped forward to launch several other hand attacks.

Haikal deflected everything without difficulty, but he was still a little confused towards Salvia.

Wizard-like blazers usually rely on the amount of soul energy converted into magic power in combat, but Salvia masters bare-handed martial abilities that might come close to an expert.

After the thirtieth attack, Salvia drained a palm of soul energy into her palm and struck Haikal's stomach with all her might. The change in the pattern of rapid attacks into strong attacks Salvia made the young man lose his vigilance and finally could not resist the high-powered attack.

"Ughhhh!" Haikal jumped far back while holding his left hand in pain withstanding Salvia's full-power punch just now.

The silver-haired girl looked surprised to see that her attack had no effect on Haikal, "He can withstand my attack even though it doesn't use soul energy?" Salvia was amazed in her heart.

"Haikal, have you really not awakened your Soul Arc yet?"

"It's true, was there a problem with that until you attacked me?" Haikal seemed unhappy with Salvia's question.

Of course, he is attacked by Salvia who incidentally is the strongest Blazer candidate in his class, one of the best geniuses who are rarely found. Haikal? An average Blazer candidate who has yet to awaken his Soul Arc? Was there a good reason for him until the genius Salvia attacked him?

Salvia sighed for a moment before raising her voice, "Sorry before, I only intend to test you. I heard you haven't awakened your Soul Arc yet, so I wanted to be sure."

"What do you mean confirm? It was clear I had not been able to awaken the Soul Arc. I'm not a talented person like you." Haikal grew furious at Salvia's expression that seemed to feel no guilt.

The silver-haired girl again sat down on the park bench closing her eyes releasing caution. It made Haikal's eyebrows rise. It was rare for him to be able to see someone unwary after a fight, this showed that the person did not want to fight or was ready to accept anything.

"About five years ago, I went to the beach to spend time with my family. For an elementary school kid, it's only natural that I take a vacation to rest my brain."

"Why are you telling me about your past? And also, it's great that your elementary school forced your brain to work hard until you put out that sentence for a child about 12 years old," Haikal's inner self with a sour expression looked at Salvia.

"Then, there I saw a boy my age running in the sand while pulling a rubber tire. At first I was confused as to why he was running on the heavy sand of the beach with rubber tires, but after knowing he was training, I became curious." Salvia held her breath for a moment then turned her gaze to Haikal, "That child is you, isn't it?"

The jet-black-haired youth pensively momentarily before his expression gradually deteriorated, "Huh? Elementary school kid running on sand while dragging the rubber tires of the car? Are you kidding me?"

"Eh? That wasn't you?" Salvia's eyes were wide open when she heard Haikal's reaction.

After all, elementary school children were unlikely to practice as Salvia mentioned. The body of a small child is still in growth, if practiced in this way then its growth will be hampered resulting in an optimal height.

When viewed from its physical characteristics, it is clear Haikal is not the figure that Salvia saw in the past considering the height of Haikal reached 180 Centimeters, a high figure for the average population of the kingdom of Wulodhasia.

In the end, Salvia apologized to Haikal because the decision was too soon he took so that it caused misunderstanding. On Haikal's own side he did not really bother about this so knowing just a misunderstanding that had been resolved, so he immediately forgave him. However, unexpectedly it turned out that Salvia was not satisfied.

"I've done so badly that you bruised your hands, my apology is not enough." Salvia ducked deeply, even she almost knelt down when she said it, but Haikal prevented her.

"Haikal, I won't be relieved if I don't make my apology manifest in physical terms. After all, my mistake is not worth forgiving just by saying it," explained Salvia gloomily.

Haikal himself became awry to hear it. He did not want to prolong the matter, but Salvia was stubbornly not allowing herself to accept an apology that easily. He held his head which began to throb.

"Is there anything I can do for you so that this debt does not burden me?" Salvia looked at Haikal's eyes deeply with a teary-eyed bead.

Seeing the eyes of Salvia who was so expecting him, Haikal gave up. He sighed then thought about what he should ask Salvia for. After a moment of hard thinking, Haikal found something.

"How about teaching me? Given that I'm not as talented as Blazer, maybe you can help me with a thing or two," Haikal said, thinking, "There's no way I'd miss learning from a genius, right?"

"What's that all? There's nothing else?" Salvia tilted her head looking confused.

"Of course, what do you expect?" Haikal was also confused.

"In the comics or stories I've read, when a guy is offered something like this by a girl, they're going to ask for a date or something" Salvia explained, touching her index finger on her lips.

"Wuah, show off. To have money, to buy comics carelessly," said Haikal smiling seductively.

In this almost ruined world, this, items such as comics and novels can be said to be rare considering that among humans who survive are more concerned with their survival from Verg attacks so that the price of goods such as comics and novels is very high in the market.

"I'm not showing off. I'm just saying what it is" Salvia replied, not looking happy with Haikal's words just now.

The two chuckled softly in response to each other's reaction which was somehow funny.

"Look you never laughed or smiled in class making a cold impression on others, but how come it's this easy to laugh?" Haikal was a little surprised.

"That's because nothing's funny. Why laugh when no one makes you laugh?" Salvia asked the young man another question.

Haikal nodded slowly. It turned out that his shadow about Salvia who was nicknamed 'Snow White' because it looked cold and did not want to be close to anyone far missed. Putting aside her Blazer talent, she was just an ordinary girl.

After that, the two separated back to their homes when the clock was showing at 07:30. The Skymaze academy entrance bell rang at 09:00, of course none of them wanted to be late and get punished.
