“Stop!!”
Just as Deon took a few steps, the figure that Deon believed to be Algiz immediately asked him to stop. Especially with a little screaming. Was my presence not expected? The question comes to mind Deon who hesitates whether or not to step foot again.
“Go back to that door and assume you never saw me!!”
Hearing that sentence, Deon finally got an answer to his question. It was true that my presence was not expected. If only he were my fan, maybe this approach would be easier. For the first time in life, Deon expects someone to be his fan. Though usually Deon will wonder in his mind why everyone so admired him even to the point of infatuation.
Yaw! Yaw!!
Deon stared at the flocks of birds still flying over the head of the figure he believed to be the Algiz. Deon remembered the snacks left in his jacket pocket. Ahhhh, lucky!! Deon cheered in his mind finding a small reason for him to still be able to stay on the roof and approach the figure before him now.
“I-it .. “ Deon pointed at the flock of birds with his right hand and his left hand took out the crumbs of food that he was able to take. “Can't I feed them??”
Yaw! Yaw!!
Looking at the food on Deon's left hand, some birds immediately moved towards Deon and made Deon panic. Honestly speaking, Deon is not a human being who can coexist with animals. In the past, Deon had some bad experiences with animals such as being chased by a herd of dogs, a herd of cats and a flock of birds.
“Akhhh!!”
So when some birds approached, Deon pulled a little bit away, his hands trembling, his eyes closed and his legs seemed to say that Deon should run away right now.
“Quiet, they won't attack you!”
Deon opened his closed eyes and found that the figure he believed to be Algiz was already standing nearby and, plus, was already holding Deon's left hand. The hand no longer trembled and the birds began to take food in his left hand.
“Ehhh?” Looking at the scene where the birds just took food from his hands and did not attack him, Deon felt a little astonished. It turns out this is how it feels when the food in your hand is near them.
“You're weird!” As soon as the food in Deon's left hand was eaten, the figure Deon believed to be Algiz immediately released his grip on Deon's hand and sat back where he had originally sat. “You're scared but still trying to feed them.”
Deon was still standing in his place. Deon's left hand pulled out a small package of food in his jacket and fed the flock again, which no longer seemed to fear Deon. “A-I had a bad experience with some animals in the past. But seeing you with them casually made me feel a little envious.”
Yaw!! Yaw!
This time the birds approached Deon to ask for more food. Behind his mask, Deon was pleased with his little experience this afternoon.
“Iri??”
“Ehm. Every time I get on the boat, there are a lot of people doing what I'm doing right now. Seeing that the birds didn't seem like they were going to attack, I wanted to get close and try to do the same. But-“
“But your fear is much greater, so?” The figure that Deon believed to be Algiz interrupts Deon's speech as if saying that he read what was in Deon's mind.
“Ehm.” Deon nodded his head in agreement.
“What bad experiences scare you with animals?”
Behind his mask, Deon smiled again as the figure he believed to be Algiz paid attention to him and asked him several times.
“A-I was once chased by a herd of dogs, a herd of cats, a flock of birds.” Deon replied with a hint of embarrassment.
“They just chased you??”
“Ya.”
“No reason?”
“Yes, no reason!” resolute Deon.
“Kalo so, it's weird once.”
Yaw! Yaw! Deon began to enjoy his time playing around with the bird that had several times alighted in his hands.
“Please once.”
The comment was so short, but somehow heard it Deon was happy. Deon felt his interlocutor this time had already taken an interest in him.
“It was bad again when I came to the zoo and the safari park, my group and the car where I was always unlucky to be chased by a herd of animals. The car that took me in the safari park was once chased by several tigers and lions and even elephants.”
The figure that Deon believed to be Algiz suddenly stretched his left hand to the side. Whether it's a sign or a habit, Deon doesn't know. It's just that the hand was stretched out, the birds that had flown to and fro and some were playing with Deon, coming down and perching in that hand. The figure looked at the birds and soon the birds flew back.
“A-what did you just do?” ask Deon.
“Talk to them and ask.”
“Ka-you can talk to them?” asked Deon nervously.
“That's.”
In an instant, Deon recalls his dream with a woman named Madaharsa and the ability of Madaharsa to talk to animals. No doubt, this woman may have something to do with Madaharsa.
“A-what did you ask the birds?” ask Deon again.
“Their thoughts about you.”
“A-me??” Deon pointed to himself in shock. “Didn't they like me??”
“Ngak!”
“Then?” ask Deon again.
“Thereverse. They like you. In the past, maybe the herd of animals chasing you felt like you. It's just .. You were a kid. Seeing a lot of animals running towards you, your instincts assumed that it was an attack. So you fear and fear it makes the herd of animals judge you too weak.”
Once again, Deon remembered his dream with Madaharsa. Madaharsa said the same thing to me.
“A-are you sure they like me?” Deon looked up at the flocks of birds flying above his head.
“Yes. Animals never lie. Some of them may be sneaky, but most of them are honest. Even their honesty is much better than that of the humans themselves.” The figure that Deon believed to be Algiz rose from his seat and pressed one of his ears.
Although his face was covered by a black mask and his head was covered by a black jacket hood, Deon knew there was a communication device attached to Algiz's ears just like before.
“Can you hide??”
“Why??”
“It would be bad for you if my partner found you.”
“Y-ya.”
Deon looked around and found a hiding place. Deon rushed to hide behind the door where he had entered. But before closing that door, Deon asked one last question to the figure he believed to be Algiz.
“Can we see you again??”
“Why do you want us again?” reply Algiz.
“I want you to be my friend and to do that, we need to meet again and talk to get to know each other. Can??”
“You are really weird!” Hearing that answer, Deon thought his intentions would end in failure. But- “Then we meet again, we can be friends. Now close the door and don't peek!!”
Excited by the answer, Deon did as Algiz told him. Deon remained silent for a while before curiosity finally approached him and as soon as Deon peeked out of the doorway, the figure had disappeared.
