"Batman, I didn't think you'd come back."

After a long confrontation, Mathison smiled gently and asked as if she was a good friend she had known for a long time.

”Not ... for certain gems I stole earlier, right?”

The Phantom Kid's voice was soft enough that only he and Batman could hear it.

He implies that he knows Batman's true identity.

Batman looked unchanged as if he had not heard Mathison's words.

”Phantom Kid, you've stolen Adam Star, Cat's Eye Emerald, and Tamil Ruby in a row; they're worth at least billions of dollars combined.”

Batman looked at Mathison and said in a harsh voice.

”Although, in the end, you returned the Emerald and Ruby to their owners, and most of the funds from the sale of the Star of Adam were donated to many people, this did not make your actions acceptable. Stealing is not the right way to show off your magical talent!”

Hearing those words, Mathison froze, so that was how she was actually portrayed in Batman's eyes.

"You're young and you haven't really done anything unforgivable so if you stop there, I can leave you alone."

Batman doesn't seem to show much hostility towards the Phantom Kid, he's like an elder who can't bear to see his junior get lost.

"Batman, before you persuade me to quit, don't you think what you're doing is even more unacceptable than me?"

Phantom Kid asks rhetorically in the face of Batman's persuasion.

"You disregard the law, do not ask for evidence, and recklessly cross the courts to punish sinners just to carry out what you believe to be justice."

”You don't care as long as the criminals are sent to the Blackgate Correctional Institution by you. You do not consider the severity of the crimes they committed, or if you have broken their hands, legs, or caused them hemiplegia. Do you think this severe punishment is nobler than my behavior?”

"It is not destined for a man who never obeys the law to make others of the same kind obey it."

Phantom Kid threw back his robe, his gaze clear and cold.

"Batman, what position do you really have to persuade me to stop?"

Hearing his voice, Batman was silent for a moment. He saw determination deep in Mathison's eyes and immediately understood that such a person could not be easily persuaded.

Since the communication did not work, he had to rely on his fists!

«That sentence from before.. Does he suspect my identity..».

Batman's gaze grew colder, and his entire figure was shrouded in a cold aura of carnage.

Invisible, a heavy aura affects Mathison.

If he had not known that Batman had taken the oath "to never kill", Mathison would have thought that the man in front of him was a butcher who had come out of a mountain of blood.

The black blade spun in the air, reflecting the cold light.

As the bat arrow flew between the two, a playing card collided with it, making a sound of steel on steel!

The impact was so great that arrows and playing cards flew backwards and fell to the ground.

Batman can't help but stare at Kid's skill in a flying card.

"I have a lot of playing cards that I want, I don't think you have a lot of bat darts."

Mathison picks up a playing card and throws it at Batman once again.

This time it was the bat arrow that stopped the playing cards.

Batman knew that what Kid said was true and he didn't have many bat arrows on him.

Batman instantly explodes to the limits of human speed, crossing the ten-meter distance between him and Kid in less than a second.

In the blink of an eye, he was right in front of Mathison!

A punch was thrown right into the Phantom Kid's chest.

"Thud!"

In an instant, Mathison only had time to block with her hands crossed and prepare for a hard blow.

“It's fast and heavy!”

This blow is a complete manifestation of Batman's power, perhaps not as strong as one with superpowers, but still clearly at the peak of human power.
