Zareena's heart was pounding when the car stopped at Role Dream's funeral. Valdo came out first, then Zareena followed him.
"Sister, who's dead?" Zareena deliberately called Valdo 'older' so that the man would be honest with him.
"Love Tristan. Every July 28th, every year, Tristan will come here. For three years, he lost a woman he loved. Until now Tristan has not forgotten it," Valdo said.
"Tristan has a lover?" Zareena asked that.
Valdo nodded. "You think he's not normal?"
"That's not what I mean. I thought she was a female player."
"Lily is the woman she loves. They have been dating since their time at university. Then, Tristan intends to propose to him because it is well established with his life. But, Lily left him. Lily had cancer and didn't tell Tristan." Valdo let out a long sigh as he remembered that. "The first three months really tortured Tristan. He watched his girlfriend suffer. That's why he doesn't want to get married. Tristan says if he loves women, they'll leave. His mother, then his lover. My best friend's fate is so poor."
Now Zareena knows the strongest reason for Tristan's decision not to marry. The past was still present in his mind. Zareena's decision was right to choose Chris, rather than waiting for Tristan. Loving a man who is still shackled in the past, will be very torturous.
Zareena did not know what to do when she saw the wide back facing the headstone while crying. Tristan must have loved Lily very much, and Zareena also dissolved in the grief.
"Tristan" said Valdo, who had been standing next to the man
Tristan. "Thank you for coming."
Valdo placed the lily next to the red rose which Zareena believed to be the flower of Tristan.
"Lily was calm there" Valdo said.
"I'm sorry, Tristan."
Tristan was shocked to hear a voice he recognized. Tristan looked back. "Zareena, are you here?"
Zareena smiled. "Sorry, I forced Valdo to take me."
Tristan turned to Valdo, then looked back at Zareena. "Yes, thank you."
The ringing of the phone blew away that awkward atmosphere. Valdo asked permission to stay away to pick up his phone.
"I didn't know you had a secret." Zareena opened the chat. This was also so that the awkwardness between them would soon end.
"You love her so much?"
Tristan acknowledged. "Yes, very."
"A lucky woman" said Zareena. Then, looking closely at Tristan. "What house in Switzerland is your house of remembrance?"
"It was so. She wasn't there until I showed her the house. Every time I go there I remember him."
Zareena nodded. "Yes, you once called it. I thought you just missed your childhood. Didn't think you had anything I didn't know."
"Sometimes there are things that cannot be told to others."
"You're right, Tris."
"Tristan," said Valdo.
Tristan gave Valdo a hug. "You are my best friend. Every year you come."
"I've always been there for you, Tristan."
"You're hugging each other" said Zareena.
"I'm sorry, I brought this baffle. He's been bothering me since morning."
"It's okay" said Tristan as he glanced at Zareena.
The change that Zareena felt. Tristan is not like yesterday. Either Valdo or it's his sad day. There was no touch that Zareena felt from the man.
"I'd better get back to the car" Zareena said.
Valdo nodded. "I'll catch up with you."
Zareena couldn't bear to go from there. His heart is not broken at this moment. Various flavors were present in his mind. Whether you are angry, sad or disappointed.
