The break bell rang and everyone rushed to the cafeteria. I dragged my feet outside the classroom, feeling a little tired.
"Annyeong Hyejin!" Mina put her hand on my shoulder and smiled at me.
"Oh annyeong!" I smiled back at him. I am glad our friendship is back to how it was.
"I'll eat with you today. Come on!" he said and pulled my arm and we quickly went to the cafeteria.
We sat down and put down our trays, then started eating. We were eating in silence when suddenly I was thinking of telling Mina something.
"Mina," call me. "There's something I have to tell you."
he swallowed his food and looked at me. "What's that?" ask when he sips mineral water.
"I-I'm moving to America next month."
Mina spouted water in her mouth. "WHAT?! WHYYY?! Forever then? Are you coming back? You left Korea? Seriously? You're gonna leave me? You're gonna live in America forever? Why why?!"
I sneered and said, "My parents are going to start a business there and I have to follow them. Don't tell anyone about this, especially Taehyung. I'll save this matter and go quietly."
"But Taehyung is your girlfriend!"
"He'll find out anyway. I don't want him to change now. I saw him treat me like always. Promise not to tell anyone? I'm only telling you because you're my best friend" I told Mina and smiled.
Mina sneered and pushed her tray aside, "I didn't***** dine after you said you were leaving me."
"Asha... Little kid. It's nothing. We can chat and skype or whatever, right?" Told him.
he smiled weakly at me and sighed.
...***...
Since then, Mina has been attached to me. I have no problem, because these are my last days with him before I leave. And as for Taehyung, it remains as usual because he doesn't know about my move to America.
The weeks passed and the day I had to move to was getting closer.
One morning, I went to school with Mina. We headed to our locker and picked up some books, when suddenly Mina looked at me.
I looked back at him. "Why is he gloomy?" my many.
"Look at my calendar," said Mina and I looked at the calendar she hung in her locker.he marked July 1, and it read. 'Hyejin Go)':
I looked at him and became emotional. I hugged her tightly and almost cried. "Hyejin please don't leave me!" la's crying.
Then then, Taehyung walked past us. "Who's gone?"
I withdrew from the embrace and looked at him, and took a sip. "Uh, it's nothing. Nobody goes Taehyung."
"Heyjin? You're off? Where to?" Taehyung asked and looked at me. I exchanged glances with Mina, and awkwardly we fell silent. Suddenly, Taehyung violently gripped my wrist, dragging me to the third floor.
"Kim Taehyung let me go!" I yelled at him. He finally stopped on the third floor and threw me against the wall.
he looked at me, his eyes a little worried, and he gulped. "You... You're not leaving, are you?"
I looked back at him, and suddenly my tears formed.he approached me while I pressed my back against the wall, "Tell me, you're not leaving. You're not leaving me, are you?!" he repeated it, raising his voice.
Tears were seeping down my face while I slumped against the wall and fell to the floor, "Sorry Taehyung," I said. "I-I'll go."
"WHERE?! WHEN'S?! WHYYY?! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?!" he yelled at me.
"Look, I don't have a choice. My parents run American businesses and I have to go with them. It's not like I don't want to tell you. I just don't know how to."
Taehyung sighed and pressed his hand against the wall. "When did you go?"
I nervously looked at him. "Next week, July 1."
he looked at me in disbelief. "You crazy?! Why are you telling me now?!"
"But you can tell me sooner!"
"I don't want to! I can't!" I screamed and stood up, looking at him.
"Why?! You want to see me hurt?!" he fought back. Before I could answer, he left me, alone, and I cried bitterly as he walked away.
'It's because I'm not ready to hurt you! I muttered to myself and sobbed.
Taehyung sat next to me during the lesson but he never spoke to me, nor saw me, for the rest of the day. My heart ached to see it like this, yet I chose to ignore it.
After school, I walked outside the classroom, a little limp, as Mina came towards me. "Hyejin, are you okay? What did Taehyung tell you?"
I forced a smile to let her know I was okay. "I'm doing fine. He doesn't talk much. I'm going home now," I told him and left, heading home.
...***...
At nightfall, I finished packing my room and putting all the boxes on the edge. I sighed and sat on the edge of my bed, staring at the boxes. I still can't believe I'm moving to America. A lot of things bother me. Can I adapt to the environment there? Can I make friends?
And the thing that worries me the most is Taehyung not talking to me. I tried to call him a few times but he didn't pick up his phone. Why is he so angry? I finally got tired of trying to reach her and ended up sending her a message.
'I will wait for you in the garden, please come. - Hyejin.
With that, I took my jacket and snuck out of my house, making sure my parents didn't know I was leaving.
At 9.15 minutes and I sat on the bench, waiting patiently.
A few minutes later, I heard footsteps and I turned to see Taehyung walking towards me. My expression slowly flashed and I saw him as he approached.
"What do you want?" he asked in a cold tone and folded his arms, not sitting next to me.
I stood up and faced him. "I'm really sorry okay," I apologized and stroked her face, when she suddenly brushed my hand away. My tears suddenly flowed.
he looked at me with a frown, and I approached him, looked into his eyes, then down to his lips, then back into his eyes.
I wrapped my arms around her neck and tiptoed to reach her height, I kissed her soft lips, hoping she would forgive me. At first he stood frozen, but then after some time, he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer as he kissed me back. I felt something warm coming down her cheek, and realized she was crying.
I took off the kiss and looked at her worriedly. As far as I knew him, he was a strong person and never let out tears easily. This is the first time I've seen her cry. "Hey, Kim Taehyung." I weakly called him. He lowered his head, still holding my waist, and he cried loudly but he did not want me to see him like this.
I held her chin and looked at her. "I said I'm sorry. I knew I should have told you sooner, but I wasn't ready to see you upset. Look at you now."
he endured his grief before he spoke, "It's worse because you just told me today."
I put my finger on her lips and told her to be quiet. It makes my heart sad to see her sad and emotional. I wiped her tears using my thumb, and I hugged her tightly. We hugged for a while, before I pulled out and sat with him on the bench.
I said, "I promise to come back and see you."
"And when is that? I need you." He spoke in a weak voice.
"We'll see. I'll call you every day, send you messages every day. I promise," I said and stuck out my little finger. "Pinky promise?"
she slowly smiled at me and locked her little finger with me. I smiled back at him.
"Don't cry anymore, you look terrible." I was joking, trying to encourage him.
"I'm not crying, I'm sweating."
"Well, sweat through your eyes" I said and played her cheek.he smiled at me, though a little bitter. We talked for a while, and things got better.
Taehyung drove me home. We reached my gate and I turned to face him. "When I'm away, don't cheat and date another girl." I teased her and pinched her red nose from crying.
he finally laughed, and I was relieved. Taehyung then said, "And you better not date other men when you're in America, no matter how cool she is." I laughed softly and nodded.
he approached me and gently kissed my lips. "Good night" he said.
"Good night" I replied to him and smiled. He left and I looked at his back as he walked before I went inside.
