Professor Gregory entered the class with a sharp gaze as usual. I began to question whether he always had major problems in his life. All this time, Basic Magic lessons have always been the most stressful subjects. In addition to adjusting to Professor Gregory's mood, he also instructed us more often to practice exercises.
Three weeks ago, my classmates and I completed orientation activities to Gamma and Delta classes. Fort Delta is on the east side of the academy's educational complex, in an area that is slightly arid compared to the rest of the region. I visited Gamma headquarters first, and we are fortunate that the visit to Gamma headquarters does not involve any fights or strange talent shows.
Gamma's own guardian teacher—Meredith Camden—who came to give some kind of explanation about the special class of medical magic type in the seminar room. It's a little boring compared to Alpha or Beta, but that's what makes me and the others take a breath.
While Delta, they did a brief introduction. Patrick Hackett as the homeroom teacher did not want us to take their precious time because they were in preparation for practice outside the academy.
Sucks.
“You've read the magic spell book?” professor Gregory's voice was slow and deep. He scrutinized all of us alternately with the highlight of that sharp look. I swallowed spit. Who will he call this time?
“Jordyn!” call Professor Gregory while pointing at my brother, Yara Jordyn who is sitting at the very back seat. “What have you learned?”
All of us looked back at Yara Jordyn who was now suddenly panicked. He did attend a learning event along with his gang filled by Savanna Claire, Lenna Roberts, himself, as well as Dominic Lawson, but I know the main reason he joined the study group was because he did realize that he was not good at learning. So, he was forced to follow even tailing with my diligent friends.
“Elemental magic is the basic magic possessed by almost all magicians. During that—”
“And bla-bla-bla,” continued Professor Gregory cutting Yara's explanation bitterly. “It's been studied before UTS, Jordyn. Now new material. I've obviously ordered you to read the book before my lesson starts, haven't I?!”
“Oh, then,” Yara suddenly smiled wryly while staring at the ceiling trying to find the answer she had found if she had indeed read the Basic Magic textbook. “mantra main basic magic is divided into several types. Basic defense, medical, portal, and sensor magic. To use basic magic
such required physical and adequate stamina as well as expertise in reciting spells.”
“Only that?” professor Gregory's eyebrows go up next door. He then watched the other children closely as if he was ready to shoot lasers from both eyes. I bite my lips. I'm sure the others are as nervous as I am right now.
BRUK!
The classroom door was slammed open. I almost jumped out of the chair hearing that voice. Helen, who was sitting next to me, was already shrieking softly in shock. We looked towards the classroom door located at the back of the room.
There stood three senior students grinning horribly. The man who stood at the front had slightly long black hair covering his forehead and eyebrows, his eyeballs were green, his legs were level even though he was slightly shorter than the senior next to him. He smiled slanted.
Right standing behind the man, a male student was bigger and muscular compared to the other. Her dark brown hair was short on both sides and the slightly thick middle was combed back neatly. His uniform shirt is folded up to the elbow.
The last senior was a tall and slender girl, her thick blond hair was stroked long, her uniform was not very neat, she said, he smiled at us while waving his hand as if he was a school artist visiting his fans. But, without a big cheer from us.
My eyes narrowed watching the three seniors clearly. On his chest was the pin. The pin-shaped symbol of Omega was gleaming blood red. My eyes automatically grow. They are members of the Omega class.
“When you can enter without showing off so,” replied Professor Gregory rolling his eyes irritated. I still stared at the three of them a little in amazement and horror. We haven't visited Omega headquarters yet, so we don't know much about them other than where the students are.
“Professor?” Savanna raised her hand trying to take the attention of Profeor Gregory. His voice was calm as usual. “Not the lesson hours are still going on? Why—”
“You don't like to see us, huh, New Boy?” the black-haired senior barked out which instantly made us return to shut up quickly.
“Quiet, Claire. I did invite them to help me in learning today.” Clearly Professor Gregory was sighing long. We looked at each other at that explanation. This is no ordinary sight. Ask the Omega to help with learning? But, it seems Professor Gregory did not pay much attention to our response. He called the three people closer to the front of the class. “You better introduce yourself first. Don't go straight into class while kicking the door all.”
“Keren and give a strong impact.” Praise the girl giving a thumbs up while winking her eyes of spirit.
“Caput introduce yourself!” professor Gregory exclaimed with a shift to make room for the three senior students.
“Seth Evander, second year, Omega.” grade The black-haired boy introduced himself first before the others were about to open their mouths.
“Creed Ackley, second year, grade Omega.” Now it was the turn of the dark brown haired man to continue.
“And I, Raelle Oswell, third year, Omega class equals these two fools.”
“The three of them are under punishment for destroying the academy's public park. So, I give an additional task for the three of them to come teach you.” Expose Professor Gregory as he crossed his arms, his eyes bored, but he remained vigilant.
Destroying a public park? That park? The largest park in the academy is located around the Magic Tools Building. Even though I know Omega is a squad where witches with terrible magic, but why would they destroy the assets of the academy? The other kids started whispering, preparing to spread rumors about Omega classes at the break.
“So, what are you learning?” seth was a little interested. That second-year senior did not care at all about the sharp eyes of my grade children. He looked for a moment at Professor Gregory hoping to get an answer. Professor Gregory did not open his mouth. Seth then moved forward looking at Lenna's note sitting on the front bench. “Basic Magic, huh? This lesson, it's easy. Why did the Professor ask us to intervene? Are they that stupid?”
“You're under penalty, right? Just follow the task from me.” Grunts Professor Gregory exasperated.
“Good, good. Don't be angry either, right?” Seth retreated while raising both his hands to surrender like a hostage cornered by a****** with a gun. “So, what can we help?”
Professor Gregory now set his whole gaze on us and cleared his throat, “You will immediately practice the use of Basic Magic mentioned by Jordyn. I'll split you into groups according to the kind of basic magic you'll learn today with team leaders Evander, Ackley and Oswell.”
“Yeah, it turns out so.” Raelle said, her expression suddenly brightened.
“Means this lesson hour move to gym, Professor?” helen suddenly raised her hand.
“No. You guys will do it here.” Assertive Professor. We gasp. It must be a joke. Professor Gregory walked behind the teacher's desk, flipping through every piece of paper looking at our names. “I'll split you up in three groups and two practice sessions. Survival groups, portals, and sensors. The rules are simple, your portal group must use the portal's basic magic to be able to move anywhere in the classroom. Sensor group, you must learn to use basic magic to determine where the portal group teleports and guesses. Meanwhile, the group survives, you will survive the onslaught of the two groups. Portal groups and sensors were released to block each other. Your points will be seen from how much you beat back the defending group and attack the other group, while the defending group, your points will be seen from your protective magic.”
“You sure you gave us this teaching assignment, Professor?” ask Creed. Everyone who was already looking tense as well as excited suddenly went silent hearing the question from Creed. That makes sense if Omega classes are involved. “This class room can be destroyed as well.”
“If it is, anyway, isn't it certain?” added Seth who was skipping around a little while laughing happily like a madman.
“Had, you guys don't seem to be getting caught up with the punishment from Instructor Snowden, huh?” raelle's protest twitched her forehead slowly.
I noticed all this tense. They're not Alpha elites or Beta-class strongmen, but Omega destroyers. Fifty percent of what they do is destroy. And they will show this before my eyes.
“This is also one of the punishments for you, Evander, Ackley, and Oswell. If you destroy this class, it means that your punishment will be increased. So, before that happens, I kindly commemorate you guys.”
