After sitting back on the rock, Darto had blinked his eyes, he still did not believe fully with the reality he witnessed. Perhaps because he had been taken too long into the world of flashbacks of the ancestor by the qorin, to make Darto a little confused to distinguish reality and illusion.
"Change!" shouted Darto trying to find Mbah Turahmin in the dark. There was nothing in sight around him, for time was really already night.
"Dar! Darto!" mbah Turahmin shouted as he waved his hand. The old man looked happy after hearing the voice of his grandson, he immediately jumped into the river, and smiled again when he saw Darto was back sitting on the rock, really his wait was not in vain.
"Thank God.. Thank God," said Siba Mbah repeatedly, while crawling up a large rock in front of him. He could not describe his gratitude after seeing his grandson doing well, after waiting for him all this time alone.
"Si Mbah thought you weren't coming back, Dar!" said Si Mbah while hugging his grandson. In that embrace, Si Mbah dripped a sweat from his eyes, he was really very worried about the state of his grandson.
Seeing the behavior of Si Mbah, Darto can only be silent. He chose silence so that Si Mbah was satisfied first to spill grievances in his heart, until the time when Si Mbah looked better, Darto also opened his voice.
"Why is Mbah so? didn't the Mbah also do the test?" asked Darto while holding the shoulder of Si Mbah, and looked into the eyes of Si Mbah with a sad look.
"We used to only take a week, Dar. But you are up to three months back," said Si Mbah while taking a deep breath. He tried to calm his heart first, before finally lighting a cigarette in his hand.
Hearing the words of Si Mbah, Darto could not take his words at all. His eyes were round, his lips were gaping and his face looked extremely confused.
"What's true that long, Mbah?" ask Darto while frowning his forehead. Then reach for a cigarette from the package that the Mbah is holding. He was also astonished by the difference in time that flashed in the real world and the world of Darsa.
"Yes, Dar. Kakung even got here twice because the news from you did not come. Fortunately he knew this place Dar, because he had been waiting for Si Mbah to do the exam. Just imagine if the kakung does not come, Si Mbah will eat anything for three months," replied Sumpah while smoking a cigarette between his fingers, occasionally he blew a ton of smoke on his lips, he said, with a gaze that stared at the skinny cluster of stars above their heads.
"There is still food, Mbah? my stomach is hungry" said Darto, scratching his head.
"Still, Dar, it's only been Kakung's last two weeks here, he's brought raw rice along with his cooking tools, Ha ha ha ha ha!" said Si Mbah terbahak remembering the behavior of Kakung is so funny.
Afterwards, the two men jumped off the rock, went into the stream and gradually pulled over to where they had put the goods. When they almost reached the edge, it appeared that Grandpa Sastro and Grandpa Wajana were about to welcome the return of Darto, they stood next to each other on the river bank.
Seeing them, Darto just kept quiet, and when passing by Darto just throw a makeshift smile. The two old figures were confused made, until finally they looked at each other and nodded to each other as a gesture following Darto's steps that had reached the edge.
"Is everything going well, Dar?" asked Grandpa Sastro at the side with a nod to Grandpa Wajana's head.
"We know why you're angry, Dar. But we really want to fix it all" Grandpa Wajana said as he bowed. He also felt guilty about what he had done in the past.
"I'm tired and hungry. You better go back to your house first, then I call if it's better," said Darto as he continued walking, without looking at the two figures behind him.
Seeing Darto's behavior, Grandpa Wajana and Grandpa Sastro again looked at each other, then nodded, and disappeared like a puff of smoke. While Mbah Turahmin could only smile at his grandson's behavior, he was a little relieved to know that Darto was not too close and relied on the two old figures.
Arriving Darto and Mbah Turahmin where they put the goods, Darto was a little surprised to see the time listed on the watch given by Si Mbah. The hand on his watch was shown at 02:27 in the morning, so Darto rushed to prepare a fire to cook rice.
Long story short, the two men had finished eating rice with Si Mbah fish as a side dish, They were sitting next to and smoking cigarettes tucked in their fingers. The atmosphere was very quiet, there was no sound other than the sound of the two of them and the sound of the night beast. Finally after they finished smoking their cigarettes, they returned to the river to take ablution and continued to perform dawn prayers afterwards.
"So how, Dar? did you get the stuff?" said Si Mbah after he finished leading the prayer.
Hearing the words of Si Mbah, Darto rushed to reach the prayer beads he couldtongi in the pocket of his pants. "Is this what the Lord meant?" said Darto while offering a wooden bagbih given by Qorin.
"Alhamdulillah, it turns out that you were chosen, Dar," said Si Mbah briefly then took Darto away from where they were sitting.
They also travel after the prayer has been completed, second by second, hour by hour they pass by continuing to walk. Like the beginning of departure, they really travel home and just rest to fulfill the obligation, he said, until time had presented the black sky above their heads again.
The night sky welcomed their return from the top of the boarding gate owned by Kakung. Kakung who saw them from inside the pesantren immediately rushed over with a little run. And when Kakung arrived in front of Darto, a hug landed back for the young man. A thread of water began to seep out from the wrinkled eyes of Kakung. With a relieved tone, he continued to say the sentence to express his gratitude.
"Come, Dar, we're in. You must be hungry, right?" kakung said as he pulled Darto's arm, he could not wait to hear the story about the exam he was taking.
After Darto reached his home, Harti, Surip and Bidin came after him. The three of them also wanted to hear stories about the experience that Darto experienced, so they immediately followed to Kakung's house after the news of Darto returning home spread from the lips of the santri.
That night, Darto told me all the things he experienced, From the time he became Darsa, to the process of forming his family's arch-enemy. Everyone was really stunned by the story that Darto uttered. Although many words can not be trusted, but they believe fully with someone who tells a story. Until finally they understood the situation that the Darto family faced, and they all offered help for whatever Darto would face in the future.
