Magisna opened her mouth, but not a word could be said.
"Sometimes a situation forces us to go with the flow and be cowardly" said Pak Isa with a look of laughter. "You know the real situation, right?" tanyanya looked towards Magisna.
Magisna again blinked and looked doubtful. "What exactly happened at Doolhof?" the question is half sizzling.
Isa sir frowned. "I thought you were with them?"
Magisna spontaneously bowed. "M--I mean.." He licked his lower lip and was stunned for a moment before finally being able to continue, "What happened at Doolhof twenty years ago?"
Isa laughed wryly, "So you're more interested in listening to nostalgia than finding out what happened to your friends?"
"What happens to them is a repetition of the past" Magisna said.
Isa sir fell silent.
Silence then ambushed them for a few moments.
"How did you get away with... all this?" magisna asked while looking at the headmaster with a demanding expression.
The principal remained silent.
"They can smell the presence of other creatures" Magisna continued.
"True," said Mr. Isa half-grunts. "They can detect other creatures except humans!"
Magisna frowned.
"Where do you know they can smell the presence of other creatures?" ask Isa then.
Magisna's turn is now at a loss for words.
"How much do you know about mutants?" Isa asked again.
Magisna is still flinching.
"How far did you go to investigate all this?" Isa looked hard at Magisna.
Suddenly Magisna felt sorry to have discussed this with Pak Isa.
The headmaster's gaze felt pressuring him.
Is it appropriate to discuss this with Mr Isa?
May I have spoken to the wrong person?
Isa sir gave a short sigh. "Listen, Eka," he said softly. "I'm honestly not sure what happened at Doolhof twenty years ago."
Magisna finally raised her face and dared herself to look at Mr. Isa.
The headmaster looked back at him. Instantly the shadow of the events of twenty years ago flashed in his head and covered his gaze from Magisna. Thick smoke began to cover him and he subconsciously held his breath. Suddenly a hard punch landed on his nape.
Michael Isaac slumped and fell on the floor.
A pair of legs then approached and stopped at his side. From the two calves that were exposed to the knee limit, it was certain that he was not a male student. The male student was wearing long pants.
As the move drew closer, Michael Isaac's consciousness gradually dissipated.
Mr. Isa blinked and was flabbergasted, startled by the loud sound of the school bell that was shrill.
Magisna sighed and pulled up her body reluctantly, then said goodbye.
The orange was no longer there when Magisna came out.
Maybe I'm in class, Magisna thought.
But when Magisna returned to class, the tomboy girl's stool was still empty.
Where did that fucker go? Magisna wondered in her heart. Then glanced out the window, scrutinizing the corridor leading to the toilet.
Two-three students from the other classes flashed in that corridor and disappeared into their respective classes. Then deserted again.
Magisna walked lazily towards her stool on Dika's side, but the man's stool was also empty.
Magisna let out a heavy sigh and pulled out her books from the drawer under the table, while the other female disciples had already started gossiping.
The girls huddled at the back table and whispered giggling.
Only three female students who did not join—including Magisna. Two girls sat on each other's desk and occasionally glanced at the crowd whenever the girls giggled.
Knowing the fact that Mr. Isa was not one of the mutants, did not make Magisna feel calm. That fact only made him more suspicious of Mr. Isa.
I saw him being dragged away by that strange fog, he recalls wryly. Just like Dika and Novi.
Even Hendra and Alexza returned as one of them, though Magisna did not see them being dragged away by the fog.
Everyone trapped in the Doolhof has not escaped, he thought. How did Isa get away?
No, serve in the heart. I can escape too. I could have fared the same, but I actually got away with luck.
The luck and coincidences suddenly felt strange in Magisna's heart.
Is it really just a coincidence? thought.
The sudden uproar caught Magisna's attention. The female students who were gossiping were simultaneously scattered and scattered into their respective benches.
A teacher stepped in in hastily.
Magisna looked at him with a huffed attitude. Dika and Orange have not returned, while the lesson will begin soon. He looked out the window once more, but in a sitting position, he could not see the corridor.
Magisna looked around the room through the corner of her eyes, looking at the faces on each bench. No one realized they were missing, he thought bitterly.
Or does no one care?
Who knows where they are going?!
Both of them are used to leaving lessons!
But Dika never did it again since he wore a hoodie. All right, Magisna said inwardly. He once left a lesson after he changed, but it was done to avoid me.
Maybe today too! thought.
But Dika disappeared with the Orange. The situation seemed to bother him a little.
I really am good at dramatizing things, grumbled in my heart. Then try to ignore his assumptions.
But it can't.
The orange never returns until the lesson is over. Until the time sign to go home.
Magisna tried to wait for him until the class was empty. The orange stuff is still in his desk drawer.
Silence instantly ambushed the entire place. The only sound that could be heard was the sound of his breathing. Magisna tidied up the orange stuff and took it out.
The classroom door slammed loudly behind him. Magisna shrieked in surprise and aghast.
Relax, Magisna! It's just the wind! Magisna rebuked herself. Then take a deep breath and calm down.
Every class and the entire corridor had been completely empty. The silence was gripping and erected his hair. Makes Magisna spontaneously shudder. Then hurry up.
His pair of shoes were pounding noisily on the floor of the corridor, echoing all over the place.
Magisna looked back. I don't know why he felt that he wasn't alone.
But the corridor behind him looked empty.
Magisna paused for a moment and watched the corridor for a moment, then twisted her body and resumed her steps.
The sound of his shoes again thumping and blaring. It sounded like he was not the only one walking.
Magisna stopped his steps abruptly. Then in unison the other voices came to a halt.
It's just an echo! Magisna rebuked herself again. But not immediately continue the steps. He froze in place while listening.
Silent.
Through the corner of his eye, Magisna caught a movement.
Magisna held her breath and turned around at once.
There's no one.
I have to get out of here, he said in his heart. This place is driving me crazy!
And when he turned around, someone hit him from the front.
BRUK!
