The Price Of Sincerity

The Price Of Sincerity
Met

Lery Alfred, the best IT graduate at a top US University. He chose to be a private programmer when he returned to Los Angeles, he would be paid when someone came and needed his skills. Whether it's hacking or getting information and such. As long as it's not criminal, he'll take it.

The room looked dusty, apparently because it had not been in use for a long time. Lery was sitting in a soft chair that she hadn't sat in for almost a year, that was her headquarters. It seems like he should pack up after this. A room on the roof of Max's apartment building. The room contained many computers, all of which immediately turned on when Lery pressed a button.

“Alright, let's start.”

Lery warms up on her fingers before relentlessly typing on the keyboard. There are many codes that cannot be understood by Dye and Max, abstract codes that appear on the monitor screen will not be understood even by the best engineering graduates. They both let Lery get busy with her world.

That's why, that's why Max brought Lery back. To find the whereabouts of women who have cheated on him and have children with other men. She had already suffered enough from not feeling good enough for the woman, she had blamed herself all along. Or maybe the wrong thing was his thinking, and Jane's saying was right. He shouldn't have spent his time being with his girlfriend instead of just giving her the money.

He shouldn't have paid the woman's sincerity with his money. Maybe for now before she meets her ex-fiance she doesn't want to guess anymore. They should meet and speak with four eyes. The relationship between them must be clearly completed, and it must be ended properly.

As Max walked towards the window, he opened the window to let the night wind in. Standing there breathing the night air, Max took a cigarette out of the box he had just taken out of his pocket. He tried to clear his mind, as usual. If he can't drink he'll smoke. He was too lazy to go back to his apartment room just to pick up alcohol.

Dye walked over, towards the open window.

“Then what will you do if you meet him?” ask Dye.

“Ending.” One puff of smoke came out of his mouth, Max looked up. “You know who I'm defending now.”

“Hemm, that model, yes. I heard Dev and he were sisters. After all that happened I thought they were just superiors and subordinates, or seniors and juniors but they weren't. I didn't think there was such a relationship.”

“Ck. You know too much, I thought you knew and purposely hid it from me.”

“Hei. I don't know anything about that. I swear to God, I didn't know it before I heard it coming out of his mouth. Yesterday I saw him hit you before he left, was that a sign he didn't approve of your relationship?”

“Haha. Maybe I should prove it to him to bless me.” Max is back smoking. He remembered his encounter with Dev in his room, he took for granted the blow Dev threw at him. Because he realized, he had indeed made the woman cry.

“Then what about Jane? I don't know what you fuss about with that woman until you don't dare to see her, but are you sure she loves you as much as you love her?”

“Of course, do you think there are women who won't love me?” Max's words sounded like a joke to Dye who heard it, but in her heart she was sure of it. He heard it firsthand if the woman confessed to him, as the woman asked for his sincerity. Either it was just his instincts or he was wrong to conclude.

“You're pretty sure, then what if Dev doesn't approve of you with him? I hope you won't do it to Dev.” Dye looked serious, she kind of emphasized her words. His tone changed, unlike at the beginning of their conversation. Max was stunned, he was confused.

“Do what? What have I done? I didn't even return the blow.”

“Hah.” Dye sighed and exhaled, she turned away from Max.

“Dye, what's more now. What else are you hiding from me?” Max's question made Dye stop motionless. He turned back to face Max.

“For what I hid from you what you have done.” Dye looked into Max's eyes without hesitation. Max frowned, he really did not understand what Dye said.

Dye kept quiet for a long time before replying, “Parent Rose, didn't you kill her?”

Dye's words seemed to sound like a powerful spell to make Max speechless, but only for a moment. Instead of panicking or worrying about being said to be a killer, Max smiled instead. He put out his cigarette and threw it away.

“Max? You smiling? Did you kill them for not blessing you? Is that really you Max? Don't tell me if what I think is right.”

“What do you think? Do you think I would kill just because my love relationship wasn't sanctioned? Even Alex is still alive right now isn't he the one I wanted to kill. You found my fingerprints in that vase, the vase I gave them. Then I use it to kill them? Do you really believe it?”

“There's your fingerprints there, on the piece of the vase used to slash their necks. I can't believe it, there's no way you're doing that. But when you find out there's your fingerprint, I'm—.”

“You believe it's me, that's why you covered it.”

Dye speechless. Honestly, he was between believing and not believing, but the evidence he received scared him if it was true, so he covered it up for Max.

“I didn't kill them, Dye. I don't know why my fingerprints are there either. And for sure I didn't kill them, I was with Rose that night. We're at the Villa, if you don't believe you can check the CCTV. But thank you for covering it up for me.”

“You know I covered it, but why did you just tell me now.”

“You didn't ask me, and nothing has changed if I tell you. I can't explain why I have my fingerprints there either. The case was closed because of the evidence you hid and decided to commit suicide. I tried to find the truth but still haven't found it until now.”

“Let me continue, you just finish your business with Rose. I—.”

“Yes. Meet.”

Lery's shout in front of the computer instantly made Max and Dye glance at her. The two of them faced off before walking to where the excited man was. Lery manages to find the woman Max is looking for, Rose Alexis.

“Where is he?” ask Max.

Lery shows a monitor screen displaying a map of the world, the continent of Europe. He managed to trace the IP of the woman's phone. Max had enough of holding back his anger as he received their engagement ring back into his hands, sent by Dev to him for selling the woman at auction. And hopefully he doesn't sell his phone and replace it with a new one. Hope so.

“Santa Guilia, France. Right around the beach located in the north of France, Page De Santa-Guilia Folacca Beach near Sotta.”

Max seemed familiar with the place, he had just been there last month and met Jane for the first time.
