The Goddess Of War

The Goddess Of War
Chapter 56 - The State of a Changing Dungeon

The instructors' duties in this passing exam were only as supervisors and would only join the battle if there was a bad chance it would happen.

However, due to the strictness of the preparation from the Academy before the raid and also having already determined which Dungeons the students were allowed to deal with, bad things could always be avoided.

Therefore, the instructor usually only acts as a team captain and provides strategy, also only giving orders and assessing young Hunters in each action on the raid performed.

Instructors also usually take charge of the fight only when they already know the extent to which the students can fight against the boss of a Dungeon which would usually unleash its ultimate attack just like Gus Stevin was doing when this, or if the young Hunter-hunters are desperate or seriously injured.

Instructors would usually take over to withstand or receive the ultimate attack damage that they could definitely deal with easily, as Dungeons for students of his level were under the instructors.

When Gus Stevin, who had just finished his task, returned, Wang Liu Gong ordered the Hunter-hunters of the main raid team to attack the Golem again to finish him off immediately.

The tanker advanced first to lure the focus of the Golem attack on them and also provided protection for the melee fighter.

The second turn was those students with the Warrior class who carried out melee attacks. Meanwhile, Mage's long-range attacks followed.

Wang Liu Gong again gave orders to the Assassin when he saw that the Golem had already begun to weaken.

The battle ended when the Assassin managed to separate the Golem head from its body and the Warrior team destroyed its heart.

The raid team cheered when they found out that the effort they had put in was already successful.

After the Dungeon boss was defeated, Wang Liu Gong ordered his students to regroup.

As the raid team was gathering to listen to the evaluation from Liu Gong, the miner team did their job. Collecting the debris of the Golem body, to be carried outside the gate, and mining the magic crystals that were in the Dungeon boss area.

“Congratulations on the results you all have achieved,” said Wang Liu Gong as all the students gathered and sat around him to listen to the message the team leader gave, as well as rest.

Wang Liu Gong spoke for only 5 minutes more then asked all of them to prepare to go towards the gate that would take them out from within the Dungeon.

After all the members had finished packing the equipment, the raid team finally returned towards the Dungeon gate.

The atmosphere of the group chat was filled with a lot of joy after they were sure to get approval in the final test of this raid.

Especially, when the team captain announced that they had managed to conquer the Dungeon in just 4 days, while pointing at the watch on his arm.

All the instructions given by the instructor they can do well and they work together perfectly without reproach.

That was what made this team manage to conquer the Dungeon 1 day faster than planned.

“Thankfully everything went well,” said Gus Stevin who walked hand in hand with Wang Liu Gong and Gina Stewart.

“Yes. They really did the orders well. They also have a pretty good focus. I hope the other two teams also get the same results as this team,” said Wang Liu Gong.

“They will be instantly rich once out of here,” said Gus Stevin again, who then laughed.

“A very good start for them, as it can get an E level Dungeon with Golem monsters. Although draining mana potion they have, but the results will be very profitable,” said Wang Liu Gong.

“I can't wait to get a five percent transfer of our part,” said Gus Stevin who then laughed back.

He was not shy when discussing the commission he would receive from this raid.

In response to that, Wang Liu Gong simply laughed softly.

Liu Gong then turned to Gina and looked at her.

“I can't wait to see how your cousin's sister will be in the Dungeon,” Liu Gong told Gina.

Gina, who had been listening to the two friends, was somewhat surprised when Liu Gong spoke to her, especially when she found out that the man meant Anna.

'Cousin brother?'

Gus Stevin frowned and looked at Gina with a puzzled expression.

He's very close to the Stewart family, he knows Gina doesn't have a cousin. There are only cousins and siblings.

"You don't know him. He's my distant cousin" Gina said, looking back at Gus Stevin, as if she understood what Gus Stevin's gaze meant.

Gus Stevin nodded. But, from Gina's expression, she knew there was something Gina was hiding from her. He knew the girl very well.

“He is amazing. I almost died on the acceptance exam" Liu Gong said.

The man recalled back when Anna's spear almost pierced his neck which was not shielded by magic energy.

“You're the testing instructor?”

“Yes. If I wasn't careful back then, my neck would have been hollow.”

Gus Stevin was silent.

To be able to do that in a 1-on-1 duel with an A-ranked Hunter like Liu Gong, that Hunter had to be a Hunter that was of a higher rank than him.

Or at least have the same rank.

Gus Stevin looked at Gina.

Gina smiled awkwardly and averted her eyes.

“Hey..., who is he?”

Gus Stevin almost said what he thought. However, it was fortunate that he could still hold it back as there was Liu Gong among them.

The three Hunters dissolved in chatter all the way to the Dungeon gate.

Since Wang Liu Gong was acting as the main captain of the raid team, he should be at the very back of the team, as they headed back towards the gate.

This was already a provision given by the Hunter Association. This will make it easier for the mining team to contact the team captain if something urgent happens.

Therefore, Liu Gong, along with Gina and Gus Stevin, walked rather casually and allowed their entourage to go first towards the gate.

°°°

As they were already more than half of the way to the Dungeon gate, Gina Stewart suddenly stopped her footsteps.

“What's up?” gus Stevin asked when he saw his best friend suddenly stop.

Gina raised one hand with the intention of asking him to shut up.

Gina turned her head towards her right, where she felt new magic energy, appear and be there.

Wang Liu Gong and Gus Stevin followed Gina's gaze, but saw nothing there.

At that moment, an uncomfortable feeling began to be felt by Gina.

The girl then noticed the surroundings, as she sensed another magic energy suddenly popping up. The magic energy was getting bigger and bigger and piled up in one place.

"Gina, what's wrong?"

This time it was Liu Gong who asked. He also felt uneasy when he saw Gina's panicked expression that was suddenly plastered clearly on the girl's face.

"I sensed the existence of magic energy that usually comes from monsters" Gina finally said.

Liu Gong and Gus Stevin looked at each other.

"I can't possibly make a mistake. All the monsters have been exterminated" said Liu Gong, who wanted to defend himself.

If there were to be any monsters left behind, it would be fatal to the team of miners who would still be inside the Dungeon until their work was done.

In order to avoid such a bad thing from happening, as the team captain, of course Liu Gong had already checked the detection device repeatedly before they went to the Dungeon boss area.

Knowing that Liu Gong misinterpreted his words, Gina shook her head.

"No. This magic energy had just sprung up," Gina explained.

"Newly popping? Another monster?" ask Gus Stevin. He almost laughed.

Gus Stevin didn't mean to mock. Indeed, ever since the appearance of the Dungeon gates, nothing in the history of new monsters has sprung up again after all the early monsters died.

After all the monsters were successfully exterminated, the order that was always done was; move the monster corpses and the mine proceeds out the Dungeon and destroy the magic pillars. Then the gate will be closed 1 day after the magic pillar is destroyed.

Gina took a deep breath. He intended to calm himself down and return to his senses.

'New monsters? Not likely.'

In the end, Gina also believed in it.

However, his confidence was lost after seeing Liu Gong seem to rush out the detection device from inside his bag.

At that moment, Liu Gong finally felt the magic energy that Gina had been feeling since.

Wang Liu Gong hurriedly took out a Dungeon magic detection device to check what was really going on.

When the detector was done scanning the state and displaying the results on the screen, Liu Gong's hand holding the detector trembled when he saw the results shown by the detector.

Gina who was waiting for the results of the examination, immediately approached Liu Gong upon hearing the notification sound from the tool. The sound is a sign that the detection has been completed.

"How?” ask Gina.

Gina and Liu Gong were indeed able to sense an enormous amount of magic energy. But with a detection device, then they will know more definitely about the real situation.

“A-what really happened? This was the magic energy that was usually recovered from monsters," Liu Gong's face turned white as he said so.

"His Dungeon Level too.. turned into level C...,” added Wang Liu Gong while still staring at the detection device.

Although Gina was curious about the results the device would show, she was speechless and speechless when she learned of it from Liu Gong.

Gina also did not understand what was really going on in this Dungeon.

To deal with a C level Dungeon, it required at least 17 B rank Hunters, and 3 A rank Hunters.

"If this magic energy really is new monsters..."

“Quickly we save the miner team, we don't have much time!” exclaiming Gina, cut Liu Gong's sentence.

He then ran to return to where the previous Dungeon boss was.

Wang Liu Gong and Gus Stevin soon caught up with Gina who had a much faster running speed than the two of them.

But just running for less than 20 meters, Gina suddenly stopped and looked back, far behind Liu Gong and Gus Stevin.

“What's up?” asked Liu Gong who also stopped his footsteps.

Gina did not answer the question and just continued to stare in the direction where the Dungeon gates were.

Liu Gong's question was answered shortly afterwards as they looked at the black clouds formed from magic energy, starting to appear from the direction of the gate.

“Sial, what should we do?” muttered Gina who was now looking in two different directions.

He was at a loss as to where they should go, whether to save a team of miners or his students.

The team of miners for the Academy raid like this, usually consisted of new students, who were given experience to be in a real Dungeon.

Normally, there were only 2 Hunter Association officers who were only E-ranked with them, who were only in charge of providing direction and also destroying the magic pillar when all the miner team's work had been completed.
