The Exchanged Bride

The Exchanged Bride
Special Episode - Goodbye

That afternoon, Kania was buried. All those who led him to his final resting place had already dispersed themselves.

Haira was still sitting next to Kania's headstone while staring with a smile accompanied by tears.

Aiden and Rika's doctor are also still there, they know how Haira is feeling right now.

Moreover, Aiden, he was still curious about Haira who already knew the thing he had hidden. This morning, when Haira just looked at him, then went inside the house, helping to prepare for Kania's funeral. He hasn't explained anything about it.

He sat down next to Haira, then rubbed his shoulders slowly. "Take care of his departure."

Haira just kept quiet. He again sowed flowers on the tomb of Kania and rubbed his head slowly.

"Haira, let's go, honey. It will soon be dark" said Aiden.

"Why did you choose to hide the facts about Kania?" asked Haira without looking.

"I don't want to make you sad. At least in his last moments you didn't show your sadness."

"But I managed to hide it."

"Yes, I'm sorry. I didn't think my Haira was stronger and stronger."

"I just don't want to give bitter memories by showing my sadness."

"I know you're a very great man."

"Haira, since when do you know about the fact of Kania's age?" ask Dr. Rika.

"I heard it when you were chatting. At that time, I was going to take a shower, but, I forgot to bring face soap, so I went back to the room. And I accidentally overheard your conversation." See Chapter 127. Special Episode - Suffering.

"So, since then you've been trying to make Kania smile, sleep in her room, and grant her every wish?" ask the Rika doctor.

"I'm sure you can." Aiden rubbed Haira's back. He also led Haira to her feet.

Haira looked at Kania's headstone with a smile. "You are now beside the graves of father and mother. I hope, if you meet, come into my dreams. Goodbye Kania, I love you so much. You'll be the best memory of my life." Wiped the corner of his eyes, and smiled back.

They also sow flowers on the graves of Haira's father and mother. Pray for it, then return home.

Upon arrival at home, Haira was a little surprised to see the painting she had made had been displayed on the wall of the room along with the original photo with a beautiful frame.

"Who hanged him there?" ask Haira.

"That was Kania's last request to me. He wanted the painting to be given a frame. He wants you to keep it" Aiden said.

Haira shed tears. "Yes, I'll definitely keep it. No, don't keep it. I'm gonna hang it in our room so I can see it at all times."

"That's a good idea" Rika's doctor said.

"Doc, after forty days of Kania, follow us into the city. The doctor is Kania's adoptive mother, meaning the doctor is my mother too." Haira holds onto Rika's doctor tanga.

"I'm sorry, Haira. I can't go with. I'm the only doctor in the area. If I did not exist, how would they be treated at a low cost. Hospitals are far and expensive. They've been depending on me all this time."

"Haira, at least, if Doctor Rika was here, she would definitely visit Kania frequently." Aiden explained.

"Truely, then, you have to complete the equipment at Rika's doctor's clinic" Haira said.

"That's what I've been thinking. I'll supply the clinic every month. Rika's doctor's salary will also exist as a medical personnel in the village that became your birth village." Turning to look at Rika's doctor and saying again, "Please accept my advice, Doc, otherwise Kania will definitely be disappointed."

Doctor Rika smiled then nodded. "Thank you."
