Episode 17: Party

Eryk's blue eyes widened.

Silent...

Gaea realized what she had just said was fatal. "Eryk?" call him.

Eryk still did not reply, still shocked by Gaea's sudden confession.

Gaea was ashamed of herself. His words must have been so sudden that Eryk froze like ice.

Think.

'Think of something to save yourself!'

"You should not be too shocked, Eryk" said Gaea coldly. "That's what Aizawa-san said to me."

Eryk finally woke up from his shock. "What...? Aizawa...!?"—his brain that was still blank could not digest it.

"He teased me, Eryk," said Gaea. "He asked me to kiss him." he continued nervously—in heart hoping Eryk believed.

"She.." now Eryk understood, blood began to boil in his head. "I knew there was something strange about him when he wanted to see you, I didn't expect it to be this bad," she said in disgust. "Excuse me, I have something to take care of, Ge."

Gaea immediately stopped Eryk by blocking the way; she was familiar with those cold blue eyes, Eryk was truly wrathful. "No Eryk. Don't make a noise."

If Eryk talks to Aizawa eating out already his pride, surely he will be the subject of Eryk's ridicule for the next few weeks.

"I must, Gaea." said Eryk.

"No," Gaea also did not want to budge even he spread his hand out boldly.

Eryk exhaled. "Well I didn't." she eventually relented too; there was still a party later even though she wasn't sure Aizawa would dare to show herself there because she dared to tease her fiance. "I have to go, check out the guest list."

Gaea was relieved that Eryk was more easily persuaded now. "All right," he said.

It's weird that an Eryk checked the guest list, is it waiting for someone? I hope it's not Katherine. He is still not ready to face Eryk's real lover.

Before Eryk left, he said. "You stay here, I'll call Alex."

Gaea exhaled.

Alone again.

"You have a way of wooing that...unique huh?"

Gaea was surprised to hear that.

Rainer was suddenly in front of him.

"Where are you from?" gaea asked a little irritated.

"Do my duty" said Rainer casually.

"I almost exposed my identity" Gaea said in frustration.

"I know," said Rainer still relaxed.

Gaea was surprised to hear that. "You know what?" now he's furious. "Then why don't you help me?"

Rainer thought for a moment. "Then I can't figure out the man's true motive."

"That guy?" Gaea did not understand at first, he only understood when Rainer pointed towards the crowd. "Oh," sure, Rainer can't be honest because of a lot of people. "You got what you wanted?" subtle satire. He did not believe Rainer preferred work over his own safety. And he also can't believe Aizawa is still here.

"Not really," said Rainer. "But now we know that he's interested in your identity" he explained. "I have the conclusion that the man works for someone else."

"Sort of subordinates?" Gaea guessed, when also Rainer nodded. "My head wants to explode! I don't get it! I'm just an ordinary woman, why would that man be interested in me..."

That doesn't make sense—unless the man includes a gang of perpetrators who have killed both of his Parents.

Only one thing she doesn't understand, Aizawa is Japanese, while her Parents are never seen to have Japanese friends at all, how can Aizawa get involved? Maybe it's about business or something he doesn't know.

To be sure, Gaea felt unsafe in New York City.

"Should I move again?" ask Gaea sadly.

Moving out of town means not meeting his friends including Eryk. Thinking about it made her want to cry.

"What are you talking about? Eryk and I will protect you" Rainer said. "You must not assume the no-no without clear evidence, Gaea."

True, but Gaea certainly thought about it, this was about his safety as well, it seemed he had no choice, now putting his trust in Eryk and Rainer was the most important.

"Would you like to watch or go back to the room? I'm sure the man is gone" Rainer said.

"No," Gaea answered quickly. "I'll just watch."

There's Rainer next to him, and Eryk in front of him, of course seeing an auction won't be boring anymore, right?

Gaea yawns wide.

He retracted his words two hours ago, this auction was really boring, he just watched the participants flaunt their wealth, he said, he wondered what it would be nice to also buy diamonds only as a collection instead of resale.

Gaea doesn't understand the pleasure of a Collector.

Gaea glanced at Eryk who was standing beside the podium, not showing any sense of boredom at all, staying calm, he thought Eryk's blue eyes were looking where, the crowd or someone? Can Eryk see him and Rainer in the crowd?

Gaea rolled her eyeballs.

Of course Eryk won't care where he is, what Eryk thinks is just money, how to get richer.

"Sold fifty billion dollars!"

Gaea's eyes were round wide hearing the nominal number that had just been called it, he did not expect that the precious diamond had ever been in his hand, had ever fallen as well. Now he understood why Eryk was so angry that he did not pay attention to the treatment of the diamond.

How could he pay attention? Basically he has never had a diamond, the most expensive can have a gold ring.

Here Gaea realized how far Eryk's life was with himself.

Eryk took over, standing on the podium. "Thank you so much for taking the auction tonight. I hope you enjoy the party after this auction" he said with great dignity.

Gaea innocently clapped her hands.

All the participants here are Eryk's working partners?

Applause is more suitable.

"Eryk didn't announce about us?" Gaea whispered to Rainer who was beside her after seeing Eryk back in his place, replaced by the owner of the diamond shop.

"Eryk never mixes business with his personal affairs" Rainer said. "He's gonna announce it at the party, you forgot?"

Gaea laughed embarrassedly, she forgot, blame Aizawa who made her tense tonight.

Rainer smirked small. "I hope you're ready to be the center of the party, Gaea Silva." whispered the tease.

Gaea harrumphed to hear it; hearing Rainer's whisper for the first time made her slightly hot...? However, when he realized he would be the center of attention made him panic overwhelming.

"I need another drink..."

Gaea had a drink, tidied up her dress, made sure everything was perfect. His eyes looked at the crowd of participants who were talking while drinking.

They are all almost familiar Gaea but, what attracts his attention is the owner of the target company also present here, too, he had already sent a proposal to the company but there was still no response probably because he had not graduated and he took employee classes.

The university is a little different, who entered ordinary classes, when graduating sought by his University, in contrast to night classes, had to look for himself, he did not give up high grades, he was optimistic to realize his dream.

"You calm down" said Eryk.

Gaea laughed hearing that.

Not hearing wrong? Eryk asked him to calm down? Calm down?

"I'm just introducing you instead of doing something dangerous" Eryk said. "Best of all, you just have to talk if anyone asks you, I take care of everything."

Gaea was not satisfied to hear it. "You do realize I'm not a doll?"

Eryk looked at him in disbelief. "Of course, I did it so you wouldn't embarrass yourself" he said. "And so am I because you're in the Enzo family now."

Gaea was surprised to hear that.

Enzo Family.

How long has he wanted to be part of the Enzo family? Exactly Eryk's lover, but Gaea was not at all happy it was sad because it was not like this that he wanted not because of coercion.

"I understand" said Gaea.

Eryk reached out his hand, without protesting anything more, Gaea grabbed him, their way towards the auctioneers was, going down the stairs step by step, getting down, the eyes of the participants were on him, the eyes of the participants were on him, their chatter began to muffle until it was finally quiet after he and Eryk reached the bottom of the stairs.

Eryk smile. "Thank you for coming tonight, I hope the ladies and gentlemen enjoy the party tonight," he said politely. "In addition I also want to share the news of happiness tonight." he glanced at Gaea who was beside him, gesturing to smile through his smile.

Gaea automatically returned a smile, her best smile, her best fake.

So pathetic of him.

"I think any of you knew about the video about me this morning" Eryk said in a joking tone. "But I would like to keep announcing that I, Eryk Enzo and the one beside me right now, Gaea Silva, we are officially engaged." he continued with serious eyes, they were greeted by a standing ovation from guests.

Gaea felt nauseous with all this, she wanted to quickly go home and go to sleep, forget all this.

Gaea couldn't even look at people because her heart was overwhelmed with guilt.

He and Eryk have just lied to everyone here—no, maybe the entire American population considering Eryk a rising businessman clearly eyes are on Eryk.

Gaea who from the beginning had only lowered her head, shocked at Eryk who was twisting slowly so that they could face, she stared at the confused young man, next, he froze when he felt Eryk's lips land on his lips but, just for a moment, a brief kiss that he had not even had time to respond to.

That kiss, Gaea didn't feel anything, it was cold, maybe that's how Eryk feels about her now.

Eryk slightly threw a mysterious smile at Gaea before returning to look at his co-workers. "Thank you again..."
