Eps. 83 — End of Competition
Linxia finally did not ask further about Zhou Yuan's abilities, preferably the girl should get used to Zhou Yuan's strength which always surprised him.
The next day, Zhou Yuan and Linxia left the cave. Both of them intend to leave the forest of Bamboo Mountain and end the competition.
The competition had actually finished due to Xi Yan's report on the existence of hundreds of years of demons in the Bamboo Mountain, the sect had already made an announcement to the others so that the participants would be required to return to the Green Bamboo Sect as soon as possible.
Some elders were moved over the situation to look for participants who had not yet returned. The competition could be said to be a little chaotic because of the stealth that is beyond the ability of the participants and has the potential to kill them.
It took two days for all the participants to be fully gathered, fortunately there were no casualties to the competition otherwise, the Green Bamboo Sect would have to take responsibility for the situation that had occurred.
The Green Bamboo Sect promised to compensate its authority for dealing with the stealth problem in this Bamboo Mountain to each of the participants.
At least the participants will be given resources that are no less valuable than the winner of the competition.
"Miss Yue, may I ask you something?"
Zhou Yuan and Linxia were currently still on their way to the Green Bamboo Sect, both of them were arguably the most late participants to leave the Bamboo Mountain forest.
As the two walked along together, Zhou Yuan asked against something that had intrigued him all along. Linxia nodded, allowing Zhou Yuan to continue with his words.
"Miss Yue, the Moon Orchid is the main prize in this competition and who gets it means to be a winner but why are you looking for only her winning status?"
Zhou Yuan initially thought Linxia's goal was to gain popularity in winning this competition but from his character for some time together, Zhou Yuan thought his conjecture seemed wrong, Linxia was not someone who was crazy about popularity.
"I want to prove my worth to my Dad and Grandpa..."
Zhou Yuan frowned, still not understanding the direction the girl was saying while Linxia smiled faintly before continuing his words.
"As a child, all my life decisions have been arranged by my family, from my path to becoming a swordsman to the relationship that will be established in the future..."
Linxia explained that all the choices he had made so far were arguably the decisions of his family that made Linxia never feel free and chose what he really wanted in his life including his engagement with somebody.
About his engagement, Linxia disagreed from the beginning but he did not dare to voice it to his parents.
Recalling about his engagement made Linxia reflexively glance at Zhou Yuan.
Linxia is not a naive girl who does not know about her feelings, she is aware that she is currently falling in love with the man next to her and Linxia admits those feelings.
After spending a lot of time with Zhou Yuan, Linxia felt that Zhou Yuan was not as evil as he had thought when the two first met.
Zhou Yuan saved his life several times in this competition and was willing to die in order to keep him safe. Linxia had never seen such a man of his piety who dared to sacrifice himself for someone he had not known for a long time.
The main thing was that Linxia's heart felt at ease when he was with Zhou Yuan and his heartbeat was always pounding when he saw the man's face.
This made Linxia even more confident to break off the engagement from his parents, although there was no certainty Zhou Yuan would reciprocate his feelings but allowing the engagement to continue was not a wise decision for him.
"I hope that by winning this competition, my family can see that I'm strong enough to make my own way of life..." Linxia ended his explanation.
Actually Zhou Yuan was also not much different from Linxia's situation, he had to learn about the political world by his family and had to behave like a noble.

Of course Linxia did not realize Zhou Yuan was his own fiancee so he did not know that sooner or later he would meet again with the man who made him fall in love.
Zhou Yuan moved quickly first the spaciousness of the sect, he could see there were some sect elders who were there with some participants gathered.
The arrival of Zhou Yuan who survived was immediately greeted with relief by Zhou Bing who had been waiting for him since two days ago.

Not long after Zhou Yuan returned, the news of Linxia coming to the sect immediately spread quickly let alone the girl carrying the Moon Orchid in her hands.
Linxia's victory was a complement to this competition ending, the Green Bamboo Sect party originally thought this competition had failed to be implemented considering there was no winner but seeing Linxia getting the Moon Orchid made the atmosphere of the competition so it was running supposedly.
"Ah, Miss Yue is indeed the most admirable, it is no wonder she is the most genius girl in the sect."
"Right, he was able to survive in a time when there were hundreds of years of stealth demonstrating his extraordinary talent. Come to think of it, I've guessed he'll be a winner."
Various compliments sounded from the participants about Linxia, Zhou Yuan heard all of that while smiling faintly.
"Sorry Grandpa Yuan is not yet strong enough to win this competition."
"You're talking about what Yuan'er is, as long as you can thrive in this competition, that's enough for Grandpa..." Zhou Bing smiled gently, stroking his granddaughter's head.
From the stage, Linxia was congratulated by the Sect Chief that was Yue Luo his own father. His father was very proud of Linxia.
