Ch.59 - Cold Sweat

Three days had passed, and now the king of Xavier's kingdom and some of his soldiers were preparing to go to the border, according to the agreement spoken by Shadow.

Carrying hundreds of foodstuffs and several treasure chests and a beautiful slave woman with chains around her neck.

“Yes, all are ready.” Say one of Lycan's subordinates spoke respectfully.

“Good work..well, we go now..”.

They leave Xavier's kingdom for the border between the southern continent and the forbidden forest, where Shadow has a pact with Lycan.

For three full Lycan continuously shadowed with the figure of the demon king in the central continent who easily provided reinforcements with ease.

On the way to the border, some of the soldiers were a little curious as they instead headed to the forbidden forest instead of heading to a safer path.

“Where are our destinations?”

“I also do not know.. but this path is a path to the forbidden forest.”.

“True...why did His Majesty take us to the forbidden forest carrying so many gifts..”.

The whispers of the soldiers sounded faintly in the ears of the Lycan king, making him only smile inside the luxurious carriage.

“This is just the beginning of the glory of the kingdom of Xavier..” Murmured Lycan while smiling happily.

Arriving near the border, seen by the soldiers a black demon figure who was standing casually blocking the path of the Xavier kingdom warrior. 

Xavier's royal entourage had stopped for a moment and Albert dared himself to approach the black demon figure and it turned out to be Shadow.

“Excuse me sir, we are in a hurry, please give us a way..” Albert said slightly frightened to feel the difference in strength between himself and the devil before him.

“Hm, call your king out of there.” Shadow replied standing there without any guilt while pointing at a luxurious carriage where Lycan was.

All the soldiers were shocked to hear Shadow's words and immediately stood by to point their weapons at Shadow.

“How dare you talk like that damn devil.”.

“Please once you..”

The royal soldiers simultaneously shouted at the figure of Shadow who easily told his king to get out of his place.

While Albert only fell silent in confusion while saying in his heart, “How could this demon know the existence of my King who was in the carriage.”.

After hearing the commotion to his soldiers, Lycan now came out by himself from the horse carriage while making sure of the situation.

“What is this?” Ask Lycan to one of the soldiers nearby.

“Front there is a black demon blocking the way, Your Grace.”.

“Devil? Wait... quickly lower your weapons..” Shout Lycan while walking towards the crowd of soldiers who are besieging Shadow.

At once all the soldiers lowered their weapons and saluted and departed giving way to their king.

Albert was surprised to see his king approaching them as well as a black demon nearby. “Yang Mulia... Why did you get off the train? Here is very dangerous.”

Lycan only raised his right hand to signal Albert to be quiet, then he continued to walk toward Shadow while greeting her warmly.

“I have rounded my resolve to stand under the auspices of your king, sir.” Said Lycan politely before Shadow. Then Shadow simply replied with a sweet smile before him.

Lycan's words surprised all his subordinates, especially Albert. “What are you doing, Your Majesty.” Shout Albert confused while putting on a look of annoyance at seeing his king say so.

Lycan ignored Albert's remarks and he continued his remarks to Shadow, “I'm sorry for me and also my self-non-knowing subordinates.” He said while pointing at the soldier who was behind him.

“Forget it, they will understand by themselves.” Answer the shadow calmly.

Although this problem was easily solved, the soldiers did not understand what was in the mind of the king so they easily submitted to the demon race.

In the middle of the journey, the group passed the path between continents which is fairly safe if they want to travel to other continents.

But the current situation is very different and not as usual, because all this time they continue to walk while feeling various types of monsters that are classified as strong and scary.

From a distance the soldiers were sensing that they were being stalked from a distance, like a predator watching their prey.

That oddity continued until they entered the path of the deeper continents and ended up meeting a group of monsters of various types of snakes.

“There's monsters..”.

“Protect His Majesty the king.”.

Shadow heard the commotion the soldiers made and he immediately got out of the horse carriage with Lycan.

“Soge or die!” Said Shadow while letting out a swamp to kill him.

“I was assigned my queen to guard the central continent.. If you guys want to pass by, step over our corpses first!” Reply to one of those monsters who could speak a normal language.

Shadow and Eliza's snake army are currently unfamiliar with each other because when Eliza unseals, Shadow is in the southern continent to carry out Cyrus' duties.

Shadow was curious about the queen they were referring to, “Queen? Who her? What is he related to the central continent?” Ask with a curious face.

“She is our only Queen, Eliza Charlotte..

Shadow was surprised to hear the statement of one of the monsters, “Queen Eliza? It turns out that a lot of things happened in the kingdom when I left.” Shadow said inwardly with a smile. Then he continued his conversation with the talking monster earlier, “I am the subordinate of His Majesty king Cyrus, husband and king of your queen.”.

The monsters were still in disbelief after Shadow introduced his identity, but on the other hand they were also afraid that the party was really the king's subordinate of their queen.

Until one of the high-leveled monsters and has advanced intelligence and gives his opinion, “We will take you all the way to the central continent, if you lie… never expect to be able to breathe fresh air later in the day!”

Shadow smiled after hearing the words they gave, as this incident included one of the forms of power and cruelty from the Quiet Night kingdom that they were displaying before one of the southern continent kings.

Eventually Xavier's royal entourage continued its journey and was escorted by hundreds of monsters and snake-type animals. With cold sweat and pale faces that they showed before Shadow, this incident was indirectly the terror of a mental attack from the Quiet Night kingdom for the Xavier kingdom soldiers.

“This is so strong they are.. Who is he.. leader of these powerful creatures..” Speak king Lycan in heart with a pale face watching animals and monsters secretly from inside the horse carriage.

In the heart Shadow also laughed happily at the look on the human face, which was putting on a face of fear.

“Be calm, as long as you do not disappoint my king and betray him, your life will be guaranteed..” Shadow said maintaining his calm position in front of Lycan.

“Thank you... I'll do it as well as possible.”.

Looking gracefully at the figure of a beautiful woman with a cruel gaze while gently caressing the head of a 10-meter-long silver snake, he realized that there was one thing he missed.

“Que... I forgot to tell my children not to attack the group of demons who are training inside the forbidden forest.” Eliza said in a relaxed tone without feeling guilty for neglecting to tell the snakes not to attack Brush and her subordinates who were training inside the forbidden forest.

At the same time, Eliza's casual words with Que were heard by Cyrus, making her inexhaustible to think about how Brush and others are currently doing, when they encountered millions of monsters and snake-type animals within the forbidden forest.

Que only fell silent after hearing his queen's words, he did not dare to reply or say anything as this was directly related to king Cyrus.

After a while and occasionally Eliza saw Cyrus' expression, now she gave the order to Que, “Go to the forbidden forest, please, spread my orders not to attack the demon named Brush and his subordinates who are training there.”.

“According to your orders, Her Majesty Queen.” Que replied then leaving Eliza and the royal palace quickly.

On the other hand Cyrus only gave a desperate smile while holding his forehead and leaning on the seat of the king's throne.
