Ch.58 - The Crisis of the Kingdom

A month has passed. Cyrus and Eliza are in a state of confusion with the depletion of the Quiet Night kingdom's food supply.

The Quiet Night Kingdom was indeed powerful, but they currently lacked the popularity of the population to build and make their own foodstuffs to meet the needs of hundreds of thousands of soldiers.

On the other hand, Cyrus was also reluctant if at this time he had to attack other kingdoms to deprive them of food resources, because it can attract the attention of kingdoms on other continents and will be bad for Quiet Night kingdom.

Amidst the confusion, Cyrus gets a message via telepathy connected to Shadow.

“Hamba heard that the kingdoms in the south were having internal problems, this happened because of the seizure of the territory between kingdoms.”

Cyrus smiled after hearing the report from shadow, “Explain more details, I was curious about what happened there.”.

Finally Shadow explained the important information he knew in great detail.

In the southern continent there are 4 kingdoms that stand there, one time Xavier kingdom, the weakest kingdom among other kingdoms.

The Xavier Kingdom is said to be weak because they are the only kingdom that has no heroes to sustain their military might.

This made the powerful kingdoms in the southern continent conspire to take advantage of and try to forcibly seize Xavier's wealth, because this kingdom is on the mountain of course they have wealth like a gold mine, oil mines, vast fields of spices and abundant sources of clean water.

Actually with this abundant wealth it is not impossible for them to summon or create heroes, but they are hindered by curses.

This curse was given directly by the god of the belief of the human race in the southern continent, because the king of the former kingdom of Xavier once had and they instead killed the hero sent directly by the god, who was sent directly by the god, just to gain titles and wealth, this infuriated the gods until now.

The bad news for Xavier's kingdom and the chaos caused by other human kingdoms is certainly good news for Cyrus, because with this chaos the Quiet Night kingdom will gain a lot of benefits.

“Shadow, meet the king of Xavier kingdom secretly and invite him to negotiate to be our ally…” The look on Cyrus' face full of worry has now turned quieter as it gains a small point of hope for the kingdom and its people.

“Hamba will try his best, Your Majesty.. but what if the weak king does not agree?”.

“Good, according to your orders His Majesty King.”

After receiving Cyrus' orders, Shadow is now looking for an opportunity to talk to the king of Xavier's kingdom, Lycan.

Because the current Xavier kingdom is not in a state of good, of course the king of Lycan all day very busy so that makes Shadow can not speak 4 eyes with him.

Until night fell, in the private room of the king of Lycan. Shadow came out of the shadow and appeared before Lycan while he was alone.

Lycan was surprised by the sudden appearance of a black figure before him, “Who are you? What do you want?” He said with a shocked expression of fear.

“I was sent by my king to negotiate with you.” Shadow replied calmly.

Lycan put on a surprised look after hearing the mysterious black figure before him, “What this demon wants from me.” He said in his heart.

Lycan was very careful in speaking his words before the demon race, however, he realized that before the demon race of Xavier kingdom was like an ant that could easily be killed.

With cold sweat Lycan asked, “Devil King Wart? Didn't he get what he wanted all this time?”

“Wart has already been killed and the kingdom of Devil Wing’s already destroyed!” Shadow answered him with a slightly high tone.

“My king who destroyed that rotten kingdom.” After a few seconds, Shadow continued his words. “If your kingdom wants to survive the seizure of another kingdom's territory, come to the central continent and submit to my king.”.

“What does my kingdom get from submitting to the demon race?” Lycan answered quickly while putting on a curious face.

“Strength...power to rule the southern continent.”.

Hearing Shadow's words made Lycan's heart waver and thirst for strength. Shadow benefited the gluttony of the human heart with the right time, because no king would be willing if his kingdom was destroyed and enslaved by other kingdoms.

“Really? What does your king want from me? Treasure!? The throne!? Women!?”

Shadow calmly replied while shaking his head, “We don't need it all, just enough groceries.

“Only that? Really?” Lycan was surprised to be astonished, for Xavier kingdom food is a very easy and cheap thing because the majority of the population there are farmers and have a very large plantation and fertile land.

Shadow nodded his head slowly while slowly returning to the shadows as he said, “I will wait for you on the next 3 days and do not disappoint the generosity of my king.”.

Lycan was again astonished to see Shadow back into the shadow form, he was amazed to see the greatness of Shadow.

“Hahaha…. What dream did I have last night, can get strong support from the demon race.”.

“Just wait for you..my kingdom is not a weak kingdom that you can step on again..”.

Excited cries from Lycan rang out to the ears of the soldiers guarding the door, making them try to check on the state of the king.

*Tok. tok..* Door knocking sound.

“Master, are you okay?”

Instantly Lycan's excited expression changed due to the knock of the door and the question of the guard, “I'm fine..” He replied in a flat tone.

“Alright sir.. Servant is at the door if Your Majesty needs something.”.

“Ah, correct... Quickly call Albert here.” Lycan told the soldiers to call one of his right hands.

Only a few minutes later, Albert came with a questionable heart because his king called him night-night.

“Yes noble, servant comes.” Albert said while saluting.

King Lycan smiled happily in front of Albert as he said, “Quickly collect all kinds of foodstuffs as much as possible... Do as I command!”.

“But, Your Honor...What happened?”

“You will know it in the next few days hehehe...” Lycan replied with a sweet smile.

Finally Albert left his king with a curious heart and filled with questions in his heart.

“Why does His majesty the king need groceries, what is he planning?”  He said in his heart as he hurried away to order his subordinates to immediately gather various types of food ingredients according to the orders of the Lycan king.

That night Lycan continued to hope that he could really get an ally of the demon race, he continued to hope that by hallucinating obtaining great power to take control of the southern continent.

On the other hand, Shadow who was inside the shadow laughed sweetly looking at Lycan foolishly hoping and believing in him.
