Ch.40 - Absorbing Souls

Cyrus is not in disbelief with her ancestors who were once the first demon kings on the planet Allstar or her fiercely loyal personal servants, but he did not believe the demonic soul figure he saw today with his own eyes was the servant of the demon king Lucifer he had read about in the Charlotte family history notebook.

“How can your soul still remain intact when time has passed for centuries? If you don't remember wrong your name is Eterna D. Valonia?” cyrus asked with a look on her curious face.

“Pardon this old servant once again for forgetting to introduce himself, the name of the servant is Eterna D. Valonia.”

Then he continued his words, “According to the orders of lord Lucifer, the servant's soul has been specially sealed by him with the aim of guiding his descendants to obtain true strength in order to realize his dreams.”.

Cyrus frowned, “What dream does my ancestor want?” Cyrus asked Lucifer Charlotte about her dream with a serious look because she saw no information about her dream in the Charlotte family notebook.

“He has a dream to rule the whole world, not only the planet Allstar but the whole planet that exists in this world.”

Cyrus was amazed by the great ambition his ancestors had, and asked again. “Really? then why didn't he try to direct his dream to rule the world?”

Stay with a respectful position Eterna answered questions Cyrus, “She and also all of us, loyal followers of the demon king Lucifer have tried their hardest to even sacrifice millions of souls of soldiers and families to realize his dream. But due to the age factor so that he could not continue his dream. Before he breathed his last breath, he created this tomb for his descendants to realize the dream.”

“Alright I understand. explain how this tomb works in detail!” ask Cyrus quickly.

Eterna explained the entire tomb chamber of the demon lord Lucifer in great detail, from the first floor to the fourth floor.

The first floor is the tomb of the formidable army, with a total of 300 sealed coffins.

The second floor is the tomb of the head of the Valonian family, with a total of 10 sealed coffins.

The third floor was the tomb of the demon king of Red Blood kingdom, with a total of 9 sealed coffins.

The fourth floor is the tomb of the first demon king, Lucifer Charlotte.

The whole soul sealed in the coffin in this ancestral tomb contained only the selected and completely deserving souls that were here, the absorption process should begin gradually from the first floor.

Each crown prince who had entered this tomb, had only managed to absorb at most 10 souls on the first floor. They all gave up on the soul of the formidable warrior because as time passed the bloodline of Charlotte grew weaker both physically and mentally.

Although they only absorbed a few warrior souls, they exited the tomb carrying a multiplied power and managed to become a demon figure that was wary of other kingdoms.

After listening to Eterna's explanation, Cyrus asked. “Then how to absorb sealed soul?”

Eterna pointed to one of the coffins and answered Cyrus's question, “Above the crate looks ancient writing, when you read it correctly, automatically the seal of the crate will open.”

“Then, how to absorb it?”

“When the seal opens, it will automatically enter the body that unseals, after which you must try to control and neutralize the power that the soul has to become your strength.”.

Cyrus thought hard trying to understand the purpose of the brief explanation that Eterna gave, until he remembered the basis of a magic that is Mana.

“Hmm... maybe he meant, just like absorbing Mana.” Cyrus thought in his mind.

After pondering and trying to understand it, Cyrus now tried to absorb the souls sealed in the coffin.

“Qwerty, translate this ancient writing.”

[ Soul warrior. With Lucifer's permission, the seal opens. ]

Cyrus uttered the sentence according to what Qwerty had translated. Instantly the chains made of magic slowly disappeared and emitted a pitch-black smoke that shot out from within the coffin.

The black smoke entered Cyrus' body as Eterna had explained before and Qwerty suddenly asked a question.

[Do you want to absorb this demon soul? ]

[ Yes / No ]

Cyrus prepared himself to absorb the soul as it absorbed Mana, he answered Qwerty's question. “Ya.”

[It's in process…. ]

[You get 500,000 Exp. ]

Cyrus was stunned by Qwerty's notice that he had gotten Exp. instantly.

“How can? Why can I get this much Exp.” cyrus asked Qwerty inwardly while pretending to concentrate in front of Eterna who was watching Cyrus meditate to absorb the demon soul.

[The sealed soul that is absorbed into the body is an Exp. amount for its absorbency, thus making the absorbent strong in an instant. ]

“Simply... the previous crown prince became a powerful demon when he came out of this tomb.” Cyrus kept talking to Qwerty. Then he again asked, “Then, why don't I feel the negative impact of absorbing the demon soul? Like losing consciousness?”

[Since the Qwerty process neutralizes the demon soul, it keeps you from feeling any negative effects. ]

Cyrus's underhanded manner had made him lose the crown prince's pride before, as Cyrus only needed a few seconds to absorb the sealed demon soul without feeling the slightest negative effect. While the Cyrus ancestors had tried their hardest to even risk their lives in order to absorb 1 soul.

Cyrus thought of dividing the sealed soul in this tomb with the Soul eater. But when he asked Qwerty, Soul Eater could only absorb or devour the souls of the beings he had killed.

“I'm sorry Soul Eater, this time you didn't get this delicious soul.” Cyrus said while laughing in her delusion.

After a few minutes, Cyrus moved to another coffin. Cyrus's speed in terms of absorbing souls shocked Eterna, but she did not dare to say a single word before the owner of Charlotte's blood.

Cyrus again stood beside the coffin, again asking Qwerty to translate the ancient writing. With the same process as before, Cyrus gained 500,000 Exp. instantly once again.

“If I unseal all the seals residing in this tomb, perhaps I balance against the demon lord Lucifer in terms of strength.” murmured Cyrus while smiling proudly with the abilities of Qwerty and the instant enjoyment of his ancestral relics.

The second time Eterna put on a look of surprise, this time she said inwardly, “How is it possible? What a genius..”
