“Quickly, find him until he can! That woman must not be far from this village. She can't run fast especially while carrying a baby.” Shouts of anger continued to be heard from outside Halimah's house and I heard Khalid's cries in dismay. “Hopefully they didn't find me and Rendra.” My mind looked at Rendra who was asleep in a cloth package. This kid always managed to amaze me with his calm demeanor.

I did not run, I leaned against the wall of the ground inside the small cave that was available to protect Abu Kak Limah if the soldiers entered. “Let's just relax, no one knows about this cave. Stay here for a few days!” after closing the cave hole with a board and then in the pile with the ground back on it, Umi went back into the kitchen secretly.

And tonight is my first night in this cave. All needs have been prepared including drinking water and bananas one bunch for the next few days. “Pray! May it not rain.” The last words that Umi Halimah said to me.

“Umi, Abu, how could Cut escape from here? This is so weird. If he ran away, Fikri would cry because his sleep was disturbed. And we'll definitely hear it. But, why is there no sound at all?” Khalid was certainly angry but he also could not vent his emotions on the in-laws. What's supposed to be keeping Cut is he's not someone else.

I smiled happily when I heard Khalid trying to hold back the anger towards Umi and Abu Kak Limah. The voices began to disappear for a long time until I fell asleep with Rendra in the cave. “Hopefully no venomous animal will bite us.” that's all I'm hoping for right now.

“Cheche...” that small and adorable voice woke me up coupled with her little hand that was caressing my face. There is a hole that makes the cave slightly glowing. I suspect that the small hole above my head serves as a light channeler from the outside if the morning has come. I changed Rendra's wet clothes to have her pee. After that he immediately took the yellow banana and handed it to me. “Rendra hungry?” he nodded while smiling. This boy is very similar to his father. The face of both is like a betel in two.

Time passed so quickly, from the small hole I could hear when the cock crowed indicating the morning had arrived and the dim light that signaled the sun was almost setting. What about Rendra? This child was enjoying the current atmosphere as usual. As long as being able to play with me was enough to make him happy. However, I thought of Abu and Umi. How are they doing? I've been gone a long time and they must be very sad to lose me. “Yes Allah, protect my parents. Give health to both until I return.” That's all I can ask for right now besides praying that there's a way out of here.

One bunch of bananas is almost finished. There are five more bottles of water. How many days I've been here and don't ask how me and Rendra have survived. All I think about is Rendra. Eat and drink it should not be less so that he remains calm even though I have to reduce my own portion of food and drink. At this point I realized one thing, it turned out that living in the ground was really hot. How does it feel to be a corpse? Especially if there is not much practice? I suddenly felt afraid to die at this moment. “Yes Allah, do not take away the life of the servant if the practice of the servant is still lacking. Servants will not be able to be in a grave more terrible than this.” The prayer was without feeling on my lips.

I counted day after day in this cave. I was getting more nervous when I saw the banana that was only one comb had started to rot and drinking water was left a bottle again. Towards the magrib, suddenly there were eggs rolling into the cave from the direction of the hole. Not just one but ten. One by one the eggs entered the cave through a hole of light. “Boiled eggs.” I said as I held the egg which was still warm.

The cave is back to light. It was a sign that it was noon because the sun was just above the cave so I could confirm if it was daylight. I've been in this cave for almost a week with Rendra. I can't hear the sound of the azan from inside here but every time the prayer Umi Kak Limah always screams like wanting to tell me the time if the prayer time has arrived.

“Abu, Umi salad zuhur first yes.”

“Abu so pray magrib to surau?”

Those words were always heard by me. If you enter at dawn, Umi does not need to shout because the sound of crowing chickens is loud enough to be heard into the cave because of the location of the chicken coop that is very close to our hiding place. Don't ask me how I pray and how I pray. In this case I feel very grateful because Teungku Zul gives a lot of knowledge how we berwudu even without water or how we pray even though we can not stand. I lay on the wall of the ground and prayed in a sitting state because this cave could not make me stand for prayer.

My body is getting tired, this cave already feels narrow. I'm afraid if I get out of here I'll find it hard to stand up. I carried out the five-time obligation armed with the knowledge I learned in college. The legitimate problem or not of my prayers fully I leave it to the omniscient to see again omniscient. I just pray and hope that my worship will be accepted. And the prayer I never forgot was to pray to be able to return home safely with Rendra.

At dawn I was shocked by the object falling back into the cave through the hole of light. I smiled when I found a packet of ice candles filled with water. I know, Umi Kak Limah must have another way to give me and Rendra some drinking water. This cave hole is not big enough if you have to put a bottle of syrup. But, for the size of the ice candle, this hole is quite fit. I rubbed one of the corners of the package that was hit by the ground and bit the tip. The water in my mouth was so refreshing. My throat that had dried up was now wet again.

“Alhamdulillah.”
